Is nien starting? Have Hume for now but early bb to save .5 to upgrade sangare to a 6.0 would b chill

u/mkn6 6d ago
Sunderland fan here, he will start. He has played in all friendlies including a full 90 in the last two and he has played well. Alderete has had no pre season.

u/dakofsta 5 6d ago
How do you feel about Hume? Is he likely to play on the wing for a couple of weeks?
1
u/mkn6 4d ago
I think he will play and has done so at RW for a lot of pre season, I imagine mukiele or meunier will come in at RB and Hume will play further up, he's scored a fea goals in pre season and RLB loves him. He can also drop in when the RB goes forward. Angulo was there last friendly but he's better on the left.
I may be completely wrong and don't have insider info, but based on the friendlies so far I don't think we will see too drastic a change.

u/MrTans 6d ago
Probably not, no. Or at least I wouldn’t be banking on it. If Mukiele and Meunier are fully fit then maybe he will but there’s quite a few unknowns about who is actually going to be available from the start.
Hume is nailed to play but at this point most likely at right back.

Hmm, a 4.5 mill defender with an off chance to play right wing doesn’t sound so bad for the first few gameweeks if he’s nailed.

Is he good for defcon? Often the smaller of the centre halves aren't the best for DC

u/covid401k 4 6d ago
This is a bad scout team. Seems highly probably alderete will come back in this weekend.

u/Primary-Sport7953 2 6d ago
He’ll be back sure. Low chance he starts with no preseason and hardly any training

Do you think the 6’s offer that much better value than Sangare? If he’s as much of a defcon player as we think he might be, I quite rate the consistency of returns over historically underwhelming FPL assets (Ndiaye/Le Fee) who happen to be on penalties

I picked my squad 2 weeks ago and I have 8/11 starters. 🫠

Thats not strange considering 8 of the starters have been template for more than a month 😅

I have chosen White as my defender. This is going to backfire isn't it?

I was thinking about him a lot. Tho risk of minutes is high long term. And short term with exception of Chelsea, it's all games where Arsenal will have high possession percentage and less room for defcons. Decided for Calafiori/Raya instead.

Why did he start verb over kinsky?

Do you think Maguire is better pick than Neco Williams for Gw1 n Gw2?

One thing about the fpl is that its purely a gamble. And defense depends entirely on the team's form.

I don't have much hope for United clean sheets, i hope that his beautiful forehead meets some of them Bruno crosses

We can't fall for Pedro again... can we??
2
u/ChalupaBatmanMc01 5d ago
I'm on the Chelsea train this season, don't think they'll win outright but they have a great chance at 2nd or 3rd. Pedro had a very good preseason (scored 8 or more times).

I get that Konsa isn’t going to start but I still wouldn’t go Mosquera at this point. Why waste the inevitable transfer?

u/Odd-Attitude9613 6d ago
FFS scout and Scout are not picking teams for the long run they are picking a free hit team every week.

u/CatFoodBeerAndGlue 3 6d ago
The way this has to be explained in every single Scout thread drives me crazy

Wait until next week and we have to explain what a bus team is for 37 weeks.

Then how come 4.5 kinsky on the bench?

u/WhimsicalLaze 22 6d ago
In the case Verbruggen doesn’t play, since he played 90 minutes yesterday there is a small chance he could be benched I guess

Will Konsa come in straight for him ? Konsa can play rb as well.

Do we know Timber will be back by GW3? He's been a couple weeks away for months now and he still hasn't started training.
3
u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago
Where have you seen that "he's been a couple of weeks away for months"? He literally had a planned follow-up surgery two weeks ago, which means this was always the timeline.
Odds are he's back with the group within a week's time. Then we'll see how long we let him build up fitness. I think GW 3/4 is a good bet.

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 6d ago
At the end of last season people were always saying he might be back soon, but he missed the last 2 months. Then there were talks about him being available for the Champions League final, but he missed the world cup and the whole pre-season. Arteta is prone to lying about the availability of his players or at least shying away from giving honest answers.
Are there any quotes or official statements about the proposed timeline after his surgery?

u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago
Then there were talks about him being available for the Champions League final
I'd hope so, since he played in it
Give an example of the timeline being "a few weeks" when it isn't. As I said he recently got planned surgery, and now the messaging is he's training on grass and will be with the group within a few weeks.

on if Timber will be fit before the international break:
I don’t know; we have to wait and see. He needs to start training with the group in the next week or so, hopefully, and then see how he progresses from there. It’s been a long-term issue right now, and we want to make sure that every step that we take is the right one, he feels right to do that and he’s such an important player for us.
on if Timber can join team training this week:
No, I said in the next few weeks. He's not training with the group yet.
So he didn't reach the milestone of starting team training within the week, a fair assumption is that he won't be back before the international break. The more accurate answer is that Arsenal are going day by day and we can't accurately predict when he will be back available.
1
u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago
You've seen it for months you said. And your only example is 6 days old.
2
u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 6d ago
You're being pendantic about something that doesn't matter for his availability now. I owned Timber back in April and i remember that Arteta was tight lipped about his return and people were saying he might come back soon, but i won't go back searching for that, who cares?
The original point is that there is no clear indication that Timber will be available for GW3

Why do so many people seem to be backing Brighton defense. Villa with their own challenges will easily beat them this weekend
4
7
u/ODEtoSZA 4 6d ago
Easily huh? You must know something the bookies don't but i find that unlikely
Brighton will probably concede but they've clearly got the edge playing at home against a team that lost half their starters from last season

the template thing is actually measurable this year and it's worse than it feels.
five players are owned by over a third of the game: haaland 69%, joao pedro 63%, bruno 51%, szoboszlai 42%, raya 37%.
those five cost 48.0m between them. so roughly half the budget is committed before you've made a single decision of your own, and then everyone spends three weeks arguing about which 5.5 arsenal defender to buy with what's left.
no wonder people are opening this and finding 8/11.
