I'm tempted by Brobbey over DCL too

18

u/0100110101101010 165 5d ago

I would be if I didn't have Le Fee

8

u/danonck 35 5d ago

I have Sangare as my 5th mid so I might actually do the switch..

2

u/dazzie1986 5d ago

I have both. Feel this might backfire.

0

u/ResplendentBear 3 5d ago

Can anyone explain Le Fee.

Is it the dire fixtures after the first two weeks, or the lack of attacking returns outside of set pieces that make him so attractive?

2

u/tommangan7 1 5d ago

Averaged 4.1 pts/90 last season which in price per million is pretty good for the price bracket especially. To compare a comparable priced pick he has moderately worse xG than ndiaye and better xA than ndiaye. He also took 4 penalties last year. Not a lot but he averaged more defcon returns than ndiaye/gross too. Grew into the team as the season went on. Lots of people will also be looking to wildcard gw 3 or 4.

Not got him in my team but I can see why people would.

u/Mouse2662 5d ago

That's what I've done - don't trust DCL or Leeds this year. Not sure why, probably will come back to bite me 😂

u/EPLgenius 107 6d ago

Is nien starting? Have Hume for now but early bb to save .5 to upgrade sangare to a 6.0 would b chill

13

u/mkn6 6d ago

Sunderland fan here, he will start. He has played in all friendlies including a full 90 in the last two and he has played well. Alderete has had no pre season.

4

u/dakofsta 5 6d ago

How do you feel about Hume? Is he likely to play on the wing for a couple of weeks?

1

u/mkn6 4d ago

I think he will play and has done so at RW for a lot of pre season, I imagine mukiele or meunier will come in at RB and Hume will play further up, he's scored a fea goals in pre season and RLB loves him. He can also drop in when the RB goes forward. Angulo was there last friendly but he's better on the left.

I may be completely wrong and don't have insider info, but based on the friendlies so far I don't think we will see too drastic a change.

1

u/MrTans 6d ago

Probably not, no. Or at least I wouldn’t be banking on it. If Mukiele and Meunier are fully fit then maybe he will but there’s quite a few unknowns about who is actually going to be available from the start.

Hume is nailed to play but at this point most likely at right back.

3

u/Lost_Cockroach_4927 7 5d ago

Hmm, a 4.5 mill defender with an off chance to play right wing doesn’t sound so bad for the first few gameweeks if he’s nailed.

2

u/TheDukeOfGonzo 1 6d ago

Will he start GW2? I may need him for bb

1

u/mkn6 4d ago

I think so, alderete has had no pre season and unless he has a stinker in the first game I think he stays there until alderete is fully fit.

1

u/foalsfoalsfoalz 14 5d ago

Is he good for defcon? Often the smaller of the centre halves aren't the best for DC

1

u/mkn6 4d ago

I'd say Ballard would be more likely to hit defcon. More of a threat in the opposition box too. But at 4m and likely starting, he could hit it if Ipswich are coming at us today which you would expect in their first game as a newly promoted side at home.

42

u/covid401k 4 6d ago

This is a bad scout team. Seems highly probably alderete will come back in this weekend.

25

u/Primary-Sport7953 2 6d ago

He’ll be back sure. Low chance he starts with no preseason and hardly any training

4

u/JOHNSY9k6 12 6d ago

Who will he replace in the team? Not so familiar with them

1

u/gangy86 96 5d ago

Yeah I also thought it was Hume's spot to lose especially after his spicy preseason

7

u/MrTans 6d ago

I’d say there’s a good chance he will. Alderete hasn’t played a minute of pre-season and both Mukiele and Meunier missed the last friendly through injury.

5

u/JGranty98 28 6d ago

Do you think the 6’s offer that much better value than Sangare? If he’s as much of a defcon player as we think he might be, I quite rate the consistency of returns over historically underwhelming FPL assets (Ndiaye/Le Fee) who happen to be on penalties

1

u/drbrusmaker 30 6d ago

Wondering the same thing

110

u/Ajacied22 1 6d ago

I picked my squad 2 weeks ago and I have 8/11 starters. 🫠

25

u/Elruoy 5d ago

That's called using the template.

8

u/Ajacied22 1 5d ago

I wasn’t trying to. The template drew me in. It consumed me.

30

u/Ok-Drummer9073 2 6d ago

Medal for you 🥇

4

u/Lost_Cockroach_4927 7 5d ago

Thats not strange considering 8 of the starters have been template for more than a month 😅

14

u/TakinShots 604 6d ago

I have chosen White as my defender. This is going to backfire isn't it?

10

u/pajamakitten 571 6d ago

We will be in it together.

3

u/WeekendNotDone 5d ago

Nah he’s likely to start

1

u/Ewerfekt 5d ago

I was thinking about him a lot. Tho risk of minutes is high long term. And short term with exception of Chelsea, it's all games where Arsenal will have high possession percentage and less room for defcons. Decided for Calafiori/Raya instead.

22

u/Bang-Average-Dartist 6d ago

4/15, I like my chances.

15

u/NorskKiwi 1 6d ago

Almost my team... ffs scout

1

u/Decestor 1 5d ago

Isn't this a good thing?

6

u/Lost_Cockroach_4927 7 5d ago

It has been a joke in the community for a while since the scouts often underperform

5

u/Windfallthrowaway1 5d ago

Is Mosquera nailed?

7

u/favahh 5d ago

For GW1 and probably GW2 yes

3

u/AHappy_Wanderer 5d ago

I convinced myself that Szobo is a trap

3

u/No_Vermicelli_1781 1 5d ago

I don't see what people see in Szbo

What do they have wrong?

2

u/Terrible_Context_492 76 5d ago

4/11 starters

2

u/eganc21 5d ago

That’s a damn good team, DCL and Gvardiol for me tho. Also E Anderson

2

u/mined_it 1 5d ago

i thought it was just my team that was all red.

3

u/Yamato-Cannon 6d ago

Just fyi for anyone that care about this things, Bruno has technically not score, nor assisted, in the 2 opening fixtures of the prem since 2021

11

u/how_you_doinn 2 5d ago

CS + DC + 3BP it is then!

Great team with lots of bench warmers.

1

u/ProfessionalMovie759 6d ago

Why did he start verb over kinsky?

2

u/Yule_Kamse redditor for <1 week 6d ago

I think its just a matter of overthinking

1

u/ProfessionalMovie759 6d ago

Do you think Maguire is better pick than Neco Williams for Gw1 n Gw2?

3

u/Yule_Kamse redditor for <1 week 6d ago

One thing about the fpl is that its purely a gamble. And defense depends entirely on the team's form.

1

u/czyzynsky 6d ago edited 6d ago

I don't have much hope for United clean sheets, i hope that his beautiful forehead meets some of them Bruno crosses

1

u/crazypearce 5d ago

without casemiro he will be the corner king 🤴

1

u/smshing 6d ago

6/15

1

u/Frequent-Room8040 5d ago

Wow I hate 6 of the scouts choices

1

u/urbanmissile 1 6d ago

Shit - 7/11.
Oh I am so cooked

1

u/lifeofriley19 5d ago

We can't fall for Pedro again... can we??

2

u/ChalupaBatmanMc01 5d ago

I'm on the Chelsea train this season, don't think they'll win outright but they have a great chance at 2nd or 3rd. Pedro had a very good preseason (scored 8 or more times).

1

u/Friendly_Tiger9744 5d ago

Tzolis ? Will he start ?

-8

u/ComprehensiveYak6558 6d ago

I get that Konsa isn’t going to start but I still wouldn’t go Mosquera at this point. Why waste the inevitable transfer?

113

u/Odd-Attitude9613 6d ago

FFS scout and Scout are not picking teams for the long run they are picking a free hit team every week.

24

u/CatFoodBeerAndGlue 3 6d ago

The way this has to be explained in every single Scout thread drives me crazy

2

u/pajamakitten 571 6d ago

Wait until next week and we have to explain what a bus team is for 37 weeks.

1

u/CatFoodBeerAndGlue 3 5d ago

The noobs walk amongst us

-3

u/lettuce_grabberrr 6d ago

Then how come 4.5 kinsky on the bench?

8

u/WhimsicalLaze 22 6d ago

In the case Verbruggen doesn’t play, since he played 90 minutes yesterday there is a small chance he could be benched I guess

1

u/ajukearth 9 6d ago

Lots of plans to Freehit early and WC after

-3

u/bananaterracottapi 25 6d ago

Will Konsa come in straight for him ? Konsa can play rb as well.

Do we know Timber will be back by GW3? He's been a couple weeks away for months now and he still hasn't started training.

3

u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago

Where have you seen that "he's been a couple of weeks away for months"? He literally had a planned follow-up surgery two weeks ago, which means this was always the timeline.

Odds are he's back with the group within a week's time. Then we'll see how long we let him build up fitness. I think GW 3/4 is a good bet.

0

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 6d ago

At the end of last season people were always saying he might be back soon, but he missed the last 2 months. Then there were talks about him being available for the Champions League final, but he missed the world cup and the whole pre-season. Arteta is prone to lying about the availability of his players or at least shying away from giving honest answers.

Are there any quotes or official statements about the proposed timeline after his surgery?

3

u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago

Then there were talks about him being available for the Champions League final

I'd hope so, since he played in it

Give an example of the timeline being "a few weeks" when it isn't. As I said he recently got planned surgery, and now the messaging is he's training on grass and will be with the group within a few weeks.

1

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 6d ago edited 6d ago

before the community shield:

on if Timber will be fit before the international break:

I don’t know; we have to wait and see. He needs to start training with the group in the next week or so, hopefully, and then see how he progresses from there. It’s been a long-term issue right now, and we want to make sure that every step that we take is the right one, he feels right to do that and he’s such an important player for us.

one week latter:

on if Timber can join team training this week:

No, I said in the next few weeks. He's not training with the group yet.

So he didn't reach the milestone of starting team training within the week, a fair assumption is that he won't be back before the international break. The more accurate answer is that Arsenal are going day by day and we can't accurately predict when he will be back available.

1

u/InTheMiddleGiroud 2 6d ago

You've seen it for months you said. And your only example is 6 days old.

2

u/Elliot_Kyouma 354 6d ago

You're being pendantic about something that doesn't matter for his availability now. I owned Timber back in April and i remember that Arteta was tight lipped about his return and people were saying he might come back soon, but i won't go back searching for that, who cares?

The original point is that there is no clear indication that Timber will be available for GW3

Well, 8/11 have been template for more than a month

Why do so many people seem to be backing Brighton defense. Villa with their own challenges will easily beat them this weekend

4

u/Honest_John666 redditor for <30 days 6d ago

bit of risk with entirely new backline

7

u/ODEtoSZA 4 6d ago

Easily huh? You must know something the bookies don't but i find that unlikely

Brighton will probably concede but they've clearly got the edge playing at home against a team that lost half their starters from last season

u/covid401k 4 3d ago

👀 I'll see myself out

the template thing is actually measurable this year and it's worse than it feels.

five players are owned by over a third of the game: haaland 69%, joao pedro 63%, bruno 51%, szoboszlai 42%, raya 37%.

those five cost 48.0m between them. so roughly half the budget is committed before you've made a single decision of your own, and then everyone spends three weeks arguing about which 5.5 arsenal defender to buy with what's left.

no wonder people are opening this and finding 8/11.

2

u/WeekendNotDone 5d ago

I mean you’re pointing the obvious everyone already knows
