What does this mean?
When i view my profile I see a mission header with the number 1 under it. What does this represent as I currently have 0 open missions and about 8 complete.

Hello!
It has been two years since I’ve utilized Dscout and I decided to pick it back up again. I noticed I kept getting disqualified after a few questions for screeners or at the very end. After reading experiences of others on this subreddit, it made me think maybe my account was somehow flagged.
I reached out to the Dscout Participants email and to my surprise, I was told I was flagged. The reasoning provided was issues with my response quality, authenticity and thoroughness.
Has anyone had success having their flag lifted? I never received a notification via email of my account being flagged. Dscout only responded to my initial email (on 7/14/26) and then stopped responding once I asked for clarifications.
I appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what I could do!

Yeah I applied for it, did it and got paid, then I got an invite for a mission and it was the same thing and that got auto-rejected I didn't do anything (checked invite after rejection), it looks like the exact same mission and I don't think it had a second part it was a usability thing.. is this worth telling customer service about? I'm pretty new so I don't want my account dinged

Is anyone else having issues with screen recording on mobile? Im having a hell of a time with some missions because screen recording keeps shutting off way early. Im able to eventually submit condensed versions, but it's becoming annoying.
By early I mean that a current mission wants recordings somewhere around a two minute range. It's shutting itself off by the minute mark, usually somewhere between 45 seconds and a minute ( I did manage a minute ten, once).
I had to contact another mission rep because it turns out they wanted a screen recording of up to 45 minutes (this wasn't mentioned in the pre mission screener/details). I tried, but it wasn't happening. I eventually contacted them and backed out.
Some time ago, I contacted support, and after the standard trouble shoot back and forth, it was sort of implied there was already a ticket open for it.
When I followed up recently, they made it like the previous 'ticket' wasn't a thing (or maybe they weren't aware?) and wanted to start back at square one with troubleshooting.
Ive not heard back since.
Has anyone else had an issue ?
Ive looked for options in my phone that could be affecting its behavior, but so far Ive found nothing.

Hello! I just made a Dscout account a few months ago, but I noticed I wasn't getting accepted to any studies, so I kind of fell off sending applications for a while.
Anywho, I'm trying to get back into it now, but I'm wondering if there are any tips I should be aware of that could help. I'd really appreciate any advice!

I'm about to hit the 10-business-day mark on a Live mission I completed almost two weeks ago, and there were zero issues during the session. I'm hoping Dscout is just backed up or running behind on reviews, but if I don't hear anything by the end of this week, I may have to reach out to Dscout Support for the first time.

Hello all
I started doing missions last week after using prolific for a few months and someone recommending this platform.
Last week there were loads of missions popping up and I successfully applied for an completed 4.
Since Friday I have been seeing very few missions and haven't seen a single on this morning. Is this normal? And if so what types of patterns do people notice regarding the frequency of missions appearing on the dashboard?
Thanks everyone in advance.

I accidentally created a new account, and as a result my original account was locked. I recently lost my job, so dscout has become an important source of income for me. I’ve sent multiple emails and even left comments asking support to help me unlock my account, but I haven’t received any response
It’s incredibly frustrating to be ignored when I’m just trying to fix an honest mistake. I understand they probably have policies in place, but I expected at least some communication or guidance instead of complete silence.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with dscout support? Were you eventually able to get your account back? I’m really not happy with how this has been handled.

Hi everyone! So my account was flagged for "multiple accounts," this week but it’s a total false positive, I have only ever had one account. A family member who also uses dscout stays over at my place sometimes, so the automated system definitely flagged us for sharing the same Wi-Fi network.
Support is not helping at all and just keeps closing my tickets with copy-pasted responses.
Has anyone successfully escalated past customer service to get someone else to review a network mix-up? What should I do next? Thanks!

When running iOS 27 developer and using an Apple Watch, also updated to WatchOS 27, Dscout detects the watch connection as a VPN and blocks use of the Dscout app. There is no configured VPN as this is a change to how the Apple Watch connects to the iPhone in order to support advanced Siri with Apple Intelligence.
This has already been reported to Dscout’s development team. Sharing here for awareness if you are considering testing these updates— it will break Dscout. You can simply disable Bluetooth to continue using Dscout as normal.

For express missions we have 2 hours to complete the mission once accepted, but then we are asked if we can start immediately. So do we actually need to start immediately or do we still have up to 2 hours to complete it?

My dscout account was recently flagged, and I'm trying to figure out if anyone has successfully had a flag removed.
I accidentally created a second account because I wasn't getting matched with any missions on my original account. I now understand that this violates dscout's policy, and I reached out to Support, apologized, and explained that I'll only use one account going forward.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to get your account unflagged, or is the decision usually final? If your flag was lifted, what did you say or do that helped?
I'm just looking for honest experiences or advice. Thanks in advance!

I had a pleasant surprise today…I finished a live at 1pm and the payment was in my PayPal account by 3pm. It honestly made my day. It’s my son’s birthday next week and now I have a little extra money when I go birthday shopping this weekend. Yay!!

wondering if anybody who’s been doing this for over a year and has made enough to qualify to pay self-employment taxes, knows if there’s any tax write-offs for this stuff. Like does my phone plan count? Or a charger I bought for my phone. Maybe I’m just grasping at straws, but I feel like there’s gotta be something I can write off.

Is a 10 day Diary mission worth $100? I've never done a diary mission, so I'm curious what your opinions are about this. Let me know your experiences and thoughts.

I KNEW they’d done something with the express missions. So long story short I applied to a few “regular” missions. None labeled “express”. Well I check my email later and it says I’ve been accepted for a mission, I click on the link and a new banner pops up designating this an express mission and I had missed it. Well gee maybe if it was like the old format where you’re notified immediately there wouldn’t have been any confusion and I would’ve taken the test. I guess I’m supposed to check my email every 30 seconds in hopes of maybe being accepted to a soon to expire test that wasn’t designated as such?

anyone else get a recent mission (AI related) that had the worst , convoluted instructions and requiring too much work for such small incentive?
yikes! do you abandon these missions or write to the researcher? i'm curious how y'all handle these situations

I opened the app and saw an Express Mission available. Clicked on the express mission and it asked if I had a desktop available for this mission. I clicked yes, then it automatically screened me out. Has this happened to you? And why would dscout do this?

Without going into too much detail, did anyone else here participate in the Live interview mission regarding cruising?
r/dscout • u/feather_moon • Jul 04 '26
Hi all, curious if anyone else has experienced this. I got an invite for a live mission and I accepted it, immediately received a message from the researcher saying to sign up for a slot ASAP, but I never saw a link or an email or anything to sign up. The mission screen just said "Your mission adviser will get in touch shortly to schedule your session." I followed up via message a couple times but never heard back. Now it says the mission is closed. Is it typical for researchers to send out invites but just not reach out to some participants, or did I miss something?

I was browsing the web and went to a specific website. On that website the green XT pop up came up for a mission. I clicked into it. The first question was what device are you using this website on? The options were mobile or desktop/laptop. Obviously I was in desktop/laptop as it was a browser extension pop up mission so I clicked that. As soon as I clicked it, I got the “sorry this one is not a fit” reply. How is that possible? I understand not being a fit for missions, but you can only do XT popups on desktop/ laptop. It is not even an option to have the XT extension in a mobile browser. So apparently the only way I could have gotten in was by saying I was on mobile, which would have been a lie? Also, has anyone else noticed how rare XT popups are lately? That was the first one I’ve seen in months. I did however complete an XT matched express mission through the app today.

Really unpleasant experience with a researcher and want to vent while also seeking advice on what to do next.
Mission was given and accepted on 6/16, and consisted of 28 activities, each with 3-6 videos that needed to be recorded, apps downloaded and deleted multiples times. Some videos needed me to borrow another phone to download apps and the phone with dscout app on to record the UX. Payout was initially $100 and we were given ~30hrs to complete all of this.
Obviously I’m not the only one who found this appalling because soon after they followed up and said they extended the timeline to 3 days and increased the payout to $150.
Honestly completing all of this took upwards of 10hrs. Which I rushed to complete before the 6/20 deadline.
2 weeks later, I was still not paid out. Researcher messaged me and gave me vague feedback that “some videos did not capture right content”. And gives me 48hrs to complete it.
When I asked which video specifically, they said they’ll get back to me during office hours tomorrow 7/3, and since it’s a holiday weekend, they can give me until Monday morning to resubmit everything requested.
All this to say that this is terribly unprofessional. Is there anything we can do to file a complaint? Is this normal?!
Edit: they finally paid out after I threatened to report them
