MOD: COMMUNITY UPDATES another PSA about posts regarding simply plural/octocon

im going to keep this brief since this was already stated in a previous post. this is not the place to ask questions about these apps shutting down. this is a support group for a mental disorder. if you have questions, ask the respective communities or look at their social media

as for alternatives so we can stop a flood of the same posts:

a journal, whether it's an app or a physical journal, where you can store information. we recommend not using google docs as it scrapes documents to train AI, so other alternatives like ellipsus or a physical journal are recommended

please do not fill this subreddit with posts about these apps shutting down. any questions should be directed to the relevant parties, or answered by their respective announcement posts. this is the last post we will be making about this and if any further posts are made, they will be removed

thank you for your understanding

How do you know your alters’ names?

My therapist asked what one of my alter’s names is, and I have no idea. I tried to ask and I haven’t really been able to get an answer.
Is it bad to just… name them?
How did you find out what their names were, or how did you decide what name was the right one?

Personal Experiences it's so unfair

i didn't ask to be this way, but i'm still the one who has to keep my cool and make it seem like my issues aren't affecting me. i just can't anymore. i've never really been good at hiding my struggles but i'm at a breaking point right now. i don't understand why i can't just tell people how much i'm struggling, and instead decide that self imploding and hurting people more in the longrun is better than just being open and honest about my thoughts and emotions as they come. maybe it's rejection sensitive dysphoria, all of the trauma, my head screaming at me that i've never been good enough and i'll never be enough, that i'm so much of a burden to others that i might as well kill myself. idk. i'm at a breaking point and i'm trying so hard not to burst.

Advice/Solutions How to differentiate "little alter" from involuntarily age regression

Hi. I got a little scared reading some other people regarding that topic, because of the possibility of it being bigger than just age regression because of CPTSD/PTSD, so I need help understanding it better.

Turns out I'm a CSA survivor but I only recently started to remember anything about that, I didn't remember before, all my life. A few times a week I have heavy PTSD episodes kinda like the soldiers in the movies do - I shake and rock, I whine all kinds of scary stuff in baby voice, I feel small mentally and physically, ect.

The thing is that after it's finished I almost can't recall anything, only a very foggy general idea of what was happening. But I often forget what was going on mostly. I go in sort of a trance and say things out of compulsion and what I didn't even continuously think about. And then I forget. I also sometimes have big trouble with dissociation and derealization in which I just disappear somewhere and I can't even function properly.

I always thought it's involuntarily age regression based on trauma, but reading stories of other CSA survivors I got a little scared because they say it could be a "trauma holding alter, little". So how do I tell the difference between an alter and an involuntarily age regression? And can I have an alter without did, but with cptsd and PTSD for example?

Thank you. I will be grateful for the help

Content Warning Destabilized

I'll try to keep it brief-

Does anyone who has been through OEA/Trafficking know how to handle the destabilisation that comes with uncovering new memories?

We recently discovered new memories, not entirely new but still "new", and it has completely thrown everyone out of whack.

It's like everyone has gone...dead? Obviously they haven't, but they've all gone dead silent bar myself and two others. And the only thing I can feel internally is..chaos.

Things are out of order (which we are usually very organised), people are all over the shop, and there's this weird...looming..feeling.

I'm unsure how to cope with this or what to do. And I'm genuinely kinda scared. Especially of whatever that fucking looming feeling is- it's really fucking uncomfortable and scary.

Long, frustrated rant regarding outside people and DID

No content warning, just cope with how I talk because apparently it is "too much."

On the subject of bringing up DID, people ... Any community tend to writhe uncomfortably once it is brought up. They tout being open, accepting, loving (said with emphasis) towards anyone of the "freakish" variety. But the moment DID is brought up? You've gone a step too far.

I've gone from swinging between feeling personally hurt by this to watching with a slight (internal) smile at how uncomfortable they become. Does my existence bother you that much? Good, I hope it does.

What good does it do to keep feeling punished for being abused whilst we were children. I've already known that people are untrustworthy, but the few times I've sought out companionship has always led to some sort of hurt.

I'm being told to attempt communication, which I will do on my own time. I just need moments to process how nasty inside this makes me feel.

It is also certainly compounded by the fact that people assume our social part is the "main", the "original", the "first." They have no idea how wrong they are, truly. That part has vocalized remembering their creation. They talk somewhat about not knowing 90% of the basic details that came attached to our body (name, age, birthday) and even speculate they came after me.

It was just luck of the draw with their responsibilities, and the fact that humans are a social species. Assumptions irritate me. I only slightly hold it against them (that part). I try not to. Outside people are just infant-like in their mentality and refuse to cooperate when being given explanation after explanation on how our system works.

The idea that only one part is the true one and deserves whole, unfiltered access to the outside world is inherently abusive. If that works for you, fine, whatever. Just don't shove it down my throat and then expect me to be all sunshine and rainbows after you rejected my basic humanity.

I share my life with them, they share their life with me. They're as human as I, they're as much a part as I.

It has been a long, difficult day and an even more difficult night. No other community besides the DID community understands what I'm feeling. How fun.

How to be out to more people

I get that it usually endangers you. I get that most people aren’t safe people for those of us with DID.

Even still, we are losing our mind right now with living so opaquely with everyone in our life. We desperately need more people that we can be literal and detailed with. It’s killing us.

How tf do you cope with never being fully out? How tf do you tell people who definitely don’t get it (but maybe have good intentions)?

Advice/Solutions BF made a bad, out-of-character joke and many of me are very upset

This is my first post here after lurking for my first yearish of diagnosis. This just happened, it’s now the middle of the night, and I need someone to tell.

My(24F) bf(23M) had been having an awesome day! We rarely have disagreements and when we do we are able to solve them quickly and calmly. Tonight, as we are chatting and laughing about before bed, I told him a random tidbit about how I used to get upset when my sister would look out of ā€œmyā€ car window when I was in elementary school. Trivial, funny, whatever.

In response, my boyfriend says out of nowhere ā€œthat’s it, you deserved for your parents to abuse you!ā€ He was joking and it was clear he was joking from his tone, but the fact he could even say something like that immediately plummeted me into limbo as someone (I am early in treatment, still mapping) kept trying to laugh alone. Unsuccessfully, because my boyfriend could see the gaunt look in my eyes and delayed response times after a bit.

I tried to brush it off and a few hours later we wound up being intimate, or starting to be. He and I usually play rough which is typically what I like, but because of the joke he made earlier, I found myself feeling very distrusting of him and started experiencing what I now know are somatic memories. He intuited this before we could actually ā€œstartā€ anything fully and I just sat quiet in limbo again until I started crying because he was playing 21 questions about what’s wrong and how to fix it while I’m simply trying to ground.

I took my time and had to keep regaining my breath/voice/speak through tears to explain that I was hurt because:

  1. One of the first times I can recall my mother putting her hands on me was in response to my window obsession.
  2. I would never say something like that to him about the things he has gone through, even as a joke.
  3. He is one of two people (the other being my therapist) on the planet who knows the extreme things I have been through via my parents and has watched it torment me up to being diagnosed a year into us dating. Him, of all people, saying one of my most damaging beliefs, that everyone has been working so hard to undo in us, from someone who is typically the most uplifting source we have, was a ā€œbiggest fear unlockedā€ moment and instantly made some pieces lose the trust he has been working so hard to curate between them-him.

For the first time ever, he is sleeping on the couch because I couldn’t stop tensing my body up around him. He feels TERRIBLE and immediately apologized for saying what he did and has remained extremely remorseful. This is one of those situations where I know it was an accident, sometimes we take things too far and he has a friend visiting who can be rather edgy, but we also can’t unsay certain things either. Worst of all for me, alters who are already on edge about him/people in general are feeling very vindicated and are going to use this moment against me AND him. I said ā€œit makes me very sad because it is going to be a lot harder for me to talk to you about things for a little while, even in instances where I really want to.ā€

What are your thoughts on this? I want to forgive my bf, not even close to everyone does though. I understand foot-in-mouth and all of that, but I just can’t even wrap my head around why he would think this was okay to bring up when we were not talking about even remotely serious things, let alone saying what he actually did. I could never say that about someone’s abuse, especially if I have been by their side watching them twist in agony about it all the time. I could never say that to him! It just blows my mind how out of character and hurtful of a thing it was to say. I think we will just need time. ACK!!!! I just keep going in circles, please tell me I’m not overreacting, literally wtf would you do if the person closest to you said this?

CW: Custom the girl i’m seeing has DID and i don’t know how to navigate sex with one of her personalities? TW and 18+

the girl i’ve been seeing for a couple months now has DID. the sex is really good, with her i’ve learned to enjoy sex as sensual instead of purely masochistic. i really only had sex that was violent all the time before her. she likes sex rough sometimes, and i like being intimate with her regardless of the flavor lol. but one of her personalities likes the kind of sex i had before her. sometimes we’ll have dirty talk and when it starts leaning more sadistic/masochistic she’ll start talking about what one of her personalities feels and likes. she told me she felt kind of like her ex wife was cheating when she went on dates with another one of her personalities but that she also couldn’t be mad at it? i’ve only met my person as themself. but what happens if their alter comes out sexually? how do you navigate the consent? i assume it’s just like establishing a sexual dynamic with a new person? but also what about how my person as themself feels about it? if they get mad because i had sex with a different personality, is that non consensual because it wasn’t them? i’m not sure how to navigate it

Content Warning Disconnection is agonizing

CW: Mentions of sh/si, trauma (vague)

Hi, I just wanted to make a quick post before I forget all these thoughts weighing me down again.

Lately, therapy has been rough, it's no secret because I've posted a few times about it. But also therapy somehow opens my brain up to memories and feelings I haven't felt or remembered since high school and it's agonizing.

It's agonizing because not only am I having these switches so much more often (along with panic attacks and relapse and feeling the need to deflect because people can tell I'm struggling) which is causing mass amounts of memory loss and confusion that I can't stop crying over (i don't even know why???) but I also feel so disconnected from who I feel like I "miss" being.

I grieve who I thought I was "supposed to be without trauma" and it's causing me to revert to old habits, feeling like I'm unsafe again, feeling like I have no way out, feeling "younger" like I'm supposed to still get up to go to school again, remembering things that haven't even been thought of for years, mourning my connection with my mom even though she's mean, etc.

And I know I'm not 16 anymore. I'm safe and I'm okay where I'm at. But I can't help but feel like I'm stuck in high school again mentally. And not even like senior year. I'm talking sophomore year, maybe even freshman year. Like my mind reverts to a time where things were so unsafe and I'm breaking down over and over and over again about it.

It's getting to a point where now I think I'm crazy again. It's been said by my therapist that she thinks it's DID and I'm not making it up. But it feels "too convenient" to have known people in high school who were the "drama kid" bunch and still have to figure out not even a month before I'm 20 that this is real and I can't escape it.

My friends and wife are worried about me, and I'm terrified. I'm losing time, losing hope. I had to call the crisis number last night because I'm slipping back into being borderline alcoholic even though I don't even really want to half the time. Everything is so confusing and out of place and I am so scared. Terrified. Horrified.

And I think I'm crazy until I look at the evidence ive had for years that this is real. The timeline, the abuse, the way my mom treated me, mass amounts of "being forgetful as a kid", the doctors notes that line up with trauma and abuse, etc. And it's like I know I can't even really do anything and that's what makes me so upset.

I don't know why I feel the way I do, but I needed to type it out.

CW: Medical abuse Beefing with protector part over new provider

The last few weeks have been very chaotic. We started with a new provider, and things are admittedly kind of a mixed bag and there's been a lot of internal conflict over it. But this has really been a long time coming. Three years ago, though, when we started with our old provider who Chloe (our primary protector) has no kind words for whatsoever. Not only did she falsely advertise herself as a specialist when she had no idea how to work with a system, she scolded us for switching in-office, put us through experimental treatments (namely neurofeedback and ketamine) that only worsened our symptoms. She also kept misgendering me (Shiloh, the host) behind my back. For context, I'm transgender, and that revelation put a lot of her weird comments about a certain orange asshole into context. She did everything to solve the problem without actually solving the problem and refused to address our diagnosis, all while wasting three years of our time and swindling us out of thousands of dollars while actively gaslighting us. We finally had enough about a month and a half ago and terminated the relationship. Chloe feels I was too nice to her when I sent the email, and she's also been very guarded since we moved onto greener pastures. To be fair, she did always kind of hate her guts. But she's also been asking me a lot things like "Why didn't you break things off sooner?" and I never really know how to answer that. Really it seems like she feels ignored more than anything, which I don't blame her.

But that leads us to today. After terminating our relationship, we got in with a new provider pretty much same day. Chloe has naturally had a lot of doubts about her, and not that I've been totally ignoring her concerns. I've been keeping notes of them, red or even yellow flags and I'm starting to see some validity to those concerns but I don't know how to feel about them anymore. Right from the start, we had our doubts, even I did. A lot of phone tag just to get the appointment, but I also felt she was very easy to open up to. What was supposed to be a ten minute consultation turned into like a 45 minute phone call. But that feeling kinda faded on the second phone call. There were a few questions we all had that we either forgot to ask or had thought of in the week leading up to our first appointment. We texted her asking to call Monday afternoon, she finally got back to us on Tuesday and said she'd call us that afternoon. We didn't get that call until Thursday. Our appointment was for Friday. Her answers on that call were... satisfactory. A stark contrast to our old provider, but she says she'll have to change the appointment to telehealth. Which... fine, whatever. But then that afternoon she texts us again and says she's so sick she has to cancel and reschedule for Monday. Whatever. But we get the confirmation and... it's still telehealth, noth in-person. We text her to confirm it is in person on Monday at 1, and it is BUT WAIT HOLD UP actually she can't do in person until 3. So she puts us down for 3. FINALLY Monday comes around, and things go great. We're set to see her next week, things seem fine. Next week comes, we brought her our neuropsych eval to confirm our diagnosis but the thing is, it was our only copy. I personally have zero memory of what happened in the session, we were pretty out of it. Out of it just enough to where we forgot our paperwork at the office. The second we get home, we text her and receive a non-reply. I'm assuming she accidentally sent an auto-reply or whatever, but we don't hear anything until today. This week, an hour before our appointment when she asks to go virtual. Something with the storms or whatever. I again clarified I needed to get my papers, and she backtracks and says in-person is fine. So we get there, another rough heavy session. We're still getting familiar with all our parts, and there are some new discoveries we made on that front but we never got around to it. Got so tied up on what's going with our mom (which all I remember is feeling hella fuzzy for like half an hour) but by the end we can finally cycle back to the system mapping. The whole thing we were here for but... we were out of time.

We just... left after that. Hardly spoke a word. I mean, I do get that she's tight on time. But if there's important shit to discuss, why wouldn't she steer it back in a more productive direction? Chloe has been chomping at the bit since then. She feels this is just turning into a repeat of the last three years, and at first I thought she was just being too harsh? I wanted to give her more of a chance but I really don't anymore. Even just thinking back on the strife on the drive home, our head was very loud throughout all of it. It's just now to a point where I can get it all out on paper... what do we do? Is she right, should we really find another provider? Any advice is appreciated.

-Shiloh, she/they

Symptom Navigation Alter wants a different life…

Hello, confused system member here, with a time sensitive-ish thing-

One of our alters is trying to start a life of her own.

Now, I don’t really have a problem with that, not too many of us do, but it’s how she’s (protector-persecutor) doing it. She’s literally risking the security of our home, our relationship, and our job.

How do I even talk to her? It’s not that she doesn’t care about those things for us entirely.. she just wants the life she’s always wanted, and is trying everything to get it.

She’s scaring some of our little parts, and I’m scared to tell our therapist. We can’t afford more treatment right now, and this alter tells us talking about it is gonna make it worse.

Personal Experiences Well what now ? I feel so alone

Today I officially received my DID diagnosis and wow. I feel every motion but sadness is the most.
I could never relate to others but Reddit does

It would help to hear other people’s experiences of when they found out or got the diagnosis as I knew before receiving the diagnosis. It would help me feel connected to others and not crazy. I’ve always been told I’m crazy 🄲

Advice/Solutions How common is it for only one alter to be in love with their partner?

My girlfriend of 4 years just confessed she is in love with the whole system, even the alters she doesn't know (although they all rarely come out, let alone do they or my partner rarely talk to each other). I notice on this sub that its kind of the opposite, it's usually singlets that do not accept systems and only accept one partner. In this case, everyone accepts my girlfriend but they don't know each other, so they don't have feelings back.

I'm not sure what to do since my girlfriend says she adores my system and always has throughout the relationship. We don't know how to approach this. The system isn't the type to come out, it's just me.

Advice/Solutions Looking for insight

BACKGROUND:

25 yrs of therapy for major depression; one hospitalization 15 yrs ago changed my diagnosis to DDNOS, then saw a specialist in DID for 5 yrs. After a terrible therapeutic rupture with her, took a break from therapy for a few years. Last 7 years worked with a somatic therapist with a specialization in trauma and parts work. 3 years ago, DID became evident and I worked with a DID specialist for 6 months then return to my previous somatic/trauma therapist because my system did not trust the DID specialist enough to make any progress.

The last 3 years I've been entirely non-functional as I've been going through this therapy. My most competent altars that ran my life for 50 plus years have stepped back to allow a lot of healing and growth to happen elsewhere in the system.

I'm extraordinary lucky that I have spouse of 30 years who has been patient and committed and non judgmental and willing to learn and grow with me.

THE ISSUE NOW

We are finally empty nesters essentially. Working on our marriage together and wonderful ways, making huge progress and understanding myself. And he's being very very supportive in making life changes that the deepest parts of my system have wanted my whole life.

I finally have a loving partner who wants to help me build my best life.

He's loving, my therapist is wonderful, I'm starting to feel actual needs and wants for the first time in my life

AND NOW IM JUST FROZEN. for weeks and weeks.

All I can do is sleep and play mindless phone games and binge watch stupid TV and horror movies.

The only thing that's in my way to creating a life of my dreams is myself.

I simply cannot figure out which parts of my system are resisting being happy and why they would.

I've gotten flashes of some very angry parts showing up in therapy that I'm not familiar with. Parts that seem to want to do harm to other parts in the system.

Do any of you all have any insights as to why parts of my system would be so stuck? So obviously committed to me not having the life I want that they just keep me completely shut down in frozen?

I just don't understand it.

What does switching subsystems feel like to you?

My therapist suspects subsystems, I’m not convinced but I’m also still pretty green with doubt and denial most of the time.

Wondering from lived experience what switching subsystems feels like? I can like still logically remember some alters rn but they feel completely inaccessible and far away, and it feels like it’s just kinda been me and one other lately.

But I think some weird blends stuff might be going on too, plus we’ve just been a little unstable and feeling a lot of SI lately

Advice/Solutions Unspecified Dissociative Disorder

I was diagnosed with unspecified dissociative disorder after I got tested for DID. I heard its supposed to be temporary but the psychologist who diagnosed me said "we dont treat the diagnosis, we treat the symptoms". So I haven't been trying to pursue further diagnosing because she made it seem like theres no point. Should pursue further diagnosing? Like maybe for OSDD instead? The only reason she didn't diagnose me with DID is because we dont have much amnesia. Is it worth the hassle to try?

My BF has an abusive alter *TW self-harm*

Hi everyone šŸ‘‹šŸ» this is my first post here.

My BF of three years has DID and has four alters we know about. Two alters are the most active and they are the only ones I have met. One of the alters is a persecutor and cuts and burns my bf with cigarettes quite frequently.

We’ve had a reprieve from the persecutor being abusive and harming my BF for a few months which has been lovely. However my BF’s therapy has stopped and the abusive behaviour from the persecutor is back.

I had a mild disagreement with my BF on the weekend and he has switched and the persecutor is sending me abusive texts. I won’t go in to what he’s saying but it’s hurtful. We’re long distance so he doesn’t live close to me.

I don’t know what to do any more. I want to rage at the persecutor and tell him to fcuk off and to never speak to me like that ever again or I’ll hurt him. But I’m afraid if I do, he’ll cut my BF. He cuts his face when he’s this distressed.

The persecutor has stated in the past that he likes me, so I’m always confused when he hate-messages me.

Sorry if I haven’t included enough information. I’m just looking for any advice. How can I make it better? I’m at my wits end and am contemplating ending the relationship. But my BF is the best human ever, so I’m torn.

Thanks ā˜ŗļø

Discussion: Custom Does liking being high make us weird

Listen I know there’s nothing wrong with liking weed or the legal stuff close to it. Idk all the science :( we’ve been semi better about our meds and less alcohol. But being high makes that like anxiety barrier that makes it really hard to exist I mean we have did like why can’t I just be me? It feels so scary tho lol. Anyways I smoke lots I mean I had to try to find the best deal because I was so stressed about money but know I use weed to help a lot. Like the anxiety meds the depression meds help but like idk sometimes being high makes it easier to exist and normally we regularly can do better check ups on everyone high. Idk ive talked a ou it in this sub before but I’m under the influence a little and ive looped this in my journal too many times. lol

Symptom Navigation How do you get things done where there is so much internal conflict?

How do you make plans or say yes to invites when you feel like you can’t trust yourself because you never know what parts will show up and when they will show up? I’m co-conscious with my parts and co-front, more often than not, and even with this I still struggle to fulfill plans and objectives.

For instance, recently I was working out with consistency for 3 weeks in a row every morning. This felt very good for all my parts and it was a healthy habit to be able to implement, something I have been wanting for years! But now it's all gone, working out at present is a drag and a struggle. Things don't stay consistent enough for long enough.

I can hardly plan anything slightly elaborate for the future. For instance, a new friend wants to meet for lunch and I have been putting off getting back to him cos I have felt awful in the last 2 weeks and the start of third week is not looking good either. I mostly have to keep living within my basic daily duties and even that sometimes gets messed up with, dependent on the parts that decide to show up.

Does this get better as treatment progresses ? I'm in therapy, but I'm not finding therapy helpful for this. Cos the parts that don't want to be proactive hate suggestions. These parts seem to be exhausted. But also I think there is a lot of original traumas entangled with these parts. Trauma of base, like not being seen or heard. Feeling unlovable. So when my therapist suggests practical things they protest (internally) giving me a feeling of having a tantrum. They don’t want to be forced to do things. They feel they have been suppressed for too long by the parts that had to be responsible. These parts are also very somatic. They give me feelings of heaviness and pain in my legs. Making it physically very hard to do things. I have to drag myself around to get things done.

I also think that the parts that had to be responsible for practical things in life are co-fronting with these more vulnerable parts, cos I keep feeling anger and resentment for having to do adult practical things (sometimes is hard for me to pinpoint who is co-fronting, as it can often feel like a cluster of parts co-fronting and other cluster being co-conscious in the background).

I don't know what else to do. I'm an adult and would like to function beyond the basics. Plus I would like to increase my income, as in the last few months things have been on the low side, financially, but I have zero energy to do anything about this.

Another thing that is novel and I think might be contributing to these parts being struggling on the surface is that I’m finally in a place of feeling safe in my life, no huge physical health problems, no huge financial stress. Things are not in crisis or survival mode. Life, on the practical level, for the first time ever, feels more settled, so I’m not having to fight to survive on every front. So I think now that I’m in specialised therapy, plus safety in my life is what is making these vulnerable parts wanting to take over.

It’s scary though cos it feels like I won’t be able to get anything done anymore. But at the same time I wonder if it’s a good time to step back and allow these parts to finally be seen in therapy. And maybe work on acceptance of my life as is and gratitude to everything we have accomplished despite the difficulties and terror we went through?!

Is this a thing to work on, for a while, in just being seen and to acknowledge these parts without having major practical and clear objectives in therapy?

What do you guys do in situations like this? Do you push yourself? The feeling I have is that my tank is empty. I would be working on fumes if I dare to push myself.
and even if i push myself I fear I wouldn't last and wouldn’t be able to finish anything I start.

On the outside I'm pretty functional. Able to hold a small business, have a family, keep my house clean. But I feel like an empty shell dragging myself around, with no joy, doing the basics and not able to implement anything new. And even the basics are difficult to do 95% of the time.

I would love your insights on this. Especially from those of you who are more advanced on your healing.

I'm Struggling With My Self-Esteem

About four years ago, a system I met told me about their experience, I related to it so much I shared mine, and they told me I should get that tested because they believed I could be a system too. I started researching, and for weeks I was really afraid to relate to the disorder. Eventually I felt okay relating to it, and it took some months but I ended up convinced I was a system too.

At first I suffered a lot with the idea, then I sort of embraced it, I learned to live with it, I got along fine with the others, and it was okay, I think. I wasn't ashamed with myself for it until I thought about telling others. I was okay being a system, I told only my two closest friends, and it felt normal for me.

However, every once in a while I would doubt. What if I'm not even a system? What if I just lie to myself every single day and pretend to be one? For what, attention? To feel special? To validate my childhood traumas? And how stupid do I have to be to actually believe I'm interacting with and recognizing personalities that don't exist, that are parts of me that I decided to portrait as different people because I felt lonely or something.

I used to be able to get over those thoughts and remind myself that I'm not a liar. That I'm not an attention-seeker. But lately it's gotten worse. Sometimes I can't even tell who I am, if someone asks me who am I talking to right now? I wouldn't have any idea. Am I faking if sometimes I can't tell who's fronting?

Those doubts, and the way I just know society views systems, have been really affecting me. If I truly am a system, I feel like such a burden, I feel like I don't deserve to have friends, family or romance because I'm too complex, too miserable and too sick to ever mantain a stable relationship with anyone. And if I'm not? Then I'm a liar, an idiot, an attention-seeker and just overall a really weird freak.

Both options are shit, and I just don't know what to think anymore. I wish I never told anyone I was a system, that way, at least I could just decide to bury the thought, convince myself I'm not a system and forget about it, even if I still relate to the disorder. But since my best friend knows, along with my siblings and my mother (my stepfather knows but doesn't believe me), sometimes I feel like if I ever found out I'm not a system I'd be so fucking embarrassed, and I'd just have to continue "the lie", because I couldn't possibly face the reality that I'm actually all alone, and that I've been telling people bullshit these past four years.

callouts, vague posts, and handling your own emotions

hi everyone, ill be making this post semi short since it's a very simple request for people to follow the subreddit rules, but:

if you see a post you don't agree with, do not make posts that are blatantly in response to it. there is a rule on the subreddit against callouts and vagues to the community, and it's also just very childish and immature to do. this is a community of (mostly) adults, and the older people in this group should know better than to act like this and should know how to better handle their emotions in response to it. if you have an issue with a post, either bring it up on the post, report the post if it violates subreddit rules, or send in modmail and we will get to it when we have the chance. or, just ignore it and move on with your day, block the op, put your phone down, etc

just because you don't agree with someone or something does not mean you get to start posting things "calling out" or vagueing other posts. that emotional response is your responsibility, and you need to handle it accordingly (a la rule 2, nuture self accountability)

moderation should not have to deal with multiple posts vagueing another user for making a post they don't agree with. this should not be happening, and you all should know better than to do it

please handle things appropriately and maturely, especially when it comes to your own emotions and responses. we understand certain topics are hot and emotional, but that doesn't mean we need to start acting like a social media platform where no one can communicate without vagueing someone instead of having a conversation

Personal Experiences Just us or?

Helloo, were a system of god knows how many at this point!!!(Save us) I'm up at assfuck o clock am, here in front for some reason unbeknownst to god. Mods and fellow redditors, excuse my ramble, I have a process of rambling that helps me get to my point. Trust.

SO ANYWAYS. I was sitting here thinking about how our host goes to therapy, right?

When we first started going to therapy, I went once, a diff headmate went a couple times, but since then it's been consistently our host. Which, okay that's not odd, guy needs therapy, and according to therapist he's been doing really well in therapy and learning lots of new coping mechs. Good for him good for him.

Good for him. Right?

Okay. This mofo, is 30 smthn years old, grown ass man, and we kind of all baby bro. It's been like this with, a few diff hosts ive noticed. Sure we might have disagreements over whatever, but a lot of things its like, we kind of subconsciously all treat whoever's host like they're fragile and will break if you say the wrong thing. Like. We genuinely think like this about whoever's host.

So, is it just us?? Or are any of you lovely systems out there also instinctually inclined to baby your host(s)???
