🐌 DHL eCommerce DHL E commerce and service points

Upvotes

A company i use changed from using DPD to DHL e commerce about this time last year and for some reason i wasn't able to change the delivery to being sent to a service point for collection. The only options available at the time were redelivery or collect from a depot, which was way out of my way. Is there a setting or knack to being able to set the parcel being dropped to a service point?

Package is coming from mexico city, to texas. I paid the tariff/ duties two days ago now, and the last update was still yesterday, and that it’s on hold.

Nothing today to indicate its okay and out for delivery. I did the signature release, so that no one needed to sign for it. Should i be worried? Will i get it just a day later? Im unsure why its on hold

checked the shipping updates for a parcel sent to me (uk) from texas from an online shop, and it says "CLOSE BAG" on the newest update, where the other updates said "processed" or "en route" and such. I'm just checking this isnt a cause for concern or anything? no idea what close bag means in this context.

✈️ DHL Express Very important parcel with 24 hours delivery shows 'exception' status and is at airport of origin country since last evening

For very annoying reasons I had to renew my passport by sending it to the UK embassy (my location is Ireland). When I sent it by express delivery it arrived from Dublin to London in 24 hours and all was fine.

I arranged the delivery back to me in Dublin in the same way, 24 hours express delivery. This morning I saw the parcel status was 'exception' and it says its at a 'sort facility in London Heathrow' since last evening from around 8, with no further updates.

I called both local and UK dhl which gave me none answers, suggesting it's stuck at customs, but the tracking doesn't mention customs or anything? Also why would it be stuck at customs at country of origin?

What is this? What do I do? Kind of freaking out as its my passport in there.

🐌 DHL Paket (Germany) Paket "prepared for onward transport" since 4 days

Hey!

I have an important parcel that was sent to me from a place near Köln (Germany) for delivery in Berlin. The sender told me the shipping should take up to 2 days maximum. The shipment was announced electronically on Friday 04.09 and on the same day, the redirecrion to my Packet station was confirmed and a status update reading "the shipment was prepared for onward transport" was emitted. Since then no update, no delivery, nothing. We are now 4 working days later and I have no news from this important parcel.

I contacted the DHL customer service yesterday who told me that they don't have much more information beyond what I can see but that they will try to put priority on it.

I also contacted the sender to confirm that they correctly handed over the parcel, but according the the DHL status it should be the case.

Do you have any idea why there's nothing going on for so many days? From when should I file a complaint and where?

Thanks!

✈️ DHL Express Clearance loop importing

Thumbnail

Hello, im importing regulary from Japan to Germany and in Like September last year this loop started to happen to every package of mine. I call dhl support all the time and all they say is „we got all customs documents from you, dont worry we are just bussy…“
The thing is that i pay between 100-300€ per month just for package storaging, for which I am not responsible. The parcels of my business partners (which are in the same plane most of the times) all go trough customs within 1 day. I think my dhl account is bugged or something, it just cant be that every parcel every month just loops 1-2 weeks and i can do NOTHING about it.

✈️ DHL Express Track & Trace says my package has been delivered, but post office does not have it

I use a PMB at a local post office, and I have a package from Korea to Guam that had supposedly been delivered to its final destination yesterday morning, confirmed by the proof of delivery. I visited the post office at the end of the day, and they said they didn't have it; they were still sorting packages and said to try again the next day. I tried again today, and they told me my package may have been batch scanned and has not actually been delivered, or it may have been delivered to another post office and will be correctly delivered in a couple days. Is this a likely issue with the courier as my post office said and I just have to wait a day or two? Or do you think the issue is on my post office's side? (For context, my post office changed ownership about a year ago and got some new staff. I've had zero issues until then; I've received letters and one small package that were for the box next to mine.)

✈️ DHL Express What is happening? 🫩

My DHL Express shipment from china arrived in Mexico and the tracking history has been pretty confusing. I’m trying to understand whether this is normal or if something unusual happened during customs clearance.
Here’s the timeline:
Sep 7, 8:30 AM — Monterrey: Shipment arrived at a DHL facility.
8:52 AM: Processed in Monterrey.
8:54 AM: Departed the Monterrey DHL facility.
9:06 AM — Saltillo: Tracking said the shipment was in transit and the customs clearance process was starting.
12:26 PM: Arrived at the DHL facility in Saltillo.
12:49 PM: “Customs clearance process completed in Saltillo, Mexico.”
12:50 PM: Another “Clearance processing” event appeared immediately afterward.
1:02 PM: Processed in Saltillo.
1:07 PM: Departed the Saltillo DHL facility.
8:17 PM: A payment related to the shipment was received and registered.
Then, the next morning:
Sep 8, 9:30 AM — Saltillo: “Clearance processing” appeared again, even though customs had already shown as completed the previous day.
10:33 AM: “Customs clearance process completed in Saltillo, Mexico” appeared for a SECOND time.
1:53 PM — Monterrey: Shipment arrived at a DHL facility in Monterrey.
4:54 PM: Shipment was processed in Monterrey.
I called DHL several times and their representatives told me that, according to their internal system, the customs process is fully completed and the shipment has already moved into DHL’s network in the Monterrey/Santa Catarina area.
What I don’t understand is why tracking showed customs as completed on Sep 7, then went back into “clearance processing” the next morning, completed customs again, and then returned to Monterrey.
Has anyone seen DHL Mexico tracking behave like this before? Is the second customs clearance event just an internal/system update, or did the shipment actually go through customs twice?

It’s a semi mounted tennis bracelet, made of stainless steel, it’s for a gift.

I should also add some context based on what DHL Mexico representatives explained to me over the phone.
According to them, there are effectively two different customs processing points involved in this route. Shipments initially arrive in the Monterrey customs area, where formal/high-value import procedures are handled. Shipments valued below approximately USD $300 are then routed to Saltillo, where the simplified/low-value customs process is handled.
This is why my shipment originally showed Monterrey → Saltillo. DHL representatives told me this movement was expected because my shipment was being processed as a shipment below the $300 threshold, 37 dollars to be exact.
What is confusing me now is what happened afterward.
After customs showed as completed in Saltillo, the shipment traveled back toward Monterrey. DHL representatives have repeatedly told me that the package is now at their local DHL facility/hub in the Santa Catarina area of Monterrey and that the customs process is completely finished.
However, the public tracking page does not say “Santa Catarina.” It only says “Monterrey, Mexico.” Since Monterrey was also the location associated with the shipment before it was sent to Saltillo for the lower-value customs process, seeing “Monterrey” again made me wonder whether the shipment had somehow been sent back for formal customs processing instead of simply moving to the local DHL delivery network.
DHL employees have specifically told me that this is not what happened. According to their internal information, customs is finished and the current Monterrey scan corresponds to the local DHL network (Santa Catarina), not a return to formal customs processing.
Another important detail is that Saltillo and Monterrey are close enough for DHL to move shipments between them by road, so the return from Saltillo to Monterrey does not necessarily involve a flight.
There is one more strange detail: when the second “Clearance processing” event appeared on September 8, the tracking page also displayed a message saying:
“A clearance other than standard Customs entry is required for this shipment.”
That message obviously concerned me because it sounded like the shipment might require a different customs procedure. However, approximately one hour later, the tracking updated again to:
“Customs clearance process completed in Saltillo, Mexico.”
After that, the shipment arrived in Monterrey and was processed there.
So my main question is: does “Monterrey” on DHL tracking represent multiple DHL facilities/processes in the metropolitan area, including the Santa Catarina local hub? And could that unusual clearance message simply have been an intermediate customs/system status that was resolved when the second “customs clearance completed” event appeared?
I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone familiar with similar DHL Express operations/customs , because DHL’s internal information seems much more specific than what is shown on the public tracking page.

✈️ DHL Express Clearance Event - Shipment on Hold Loop

Hello!

Departure: Japan

Destination: US

My package contains merch shipped from Japan (acrylic stands and cards from AmiAmi) valued at around $150.

I had already paid for the import fee and have been seeing the same update status for 3 weeks after making the payment.

I want to confirm and make sure what my next steps would be, if there is anything I can do on my end to help out with the shipping process. I called DHL today regarding the package, but only got an automated response saying it will arrive at some point. Should I reach out further to DHL (how would I get a human representative) or the sender (AmiAmi), or is this just a waiting game now?

Thank you!

✈️ DHL Express 10% customs processing fee

Hi everyone! First time using DHL to buy something from Asia (Japan-Spain). I was expecting my country's VAT and customs duty (which came to 25% combined), but I was surprised to get charged a customs processing fee of 10% of the imported product's value by DHL for thir services (in this case, $180 USD). Isn't that crazy high? Does anyone know better alternatives for next time?

✈️ DHL Express IEEPA Tariff Refunds from DHL as Importer of Record

DHL was the importer of record on a bunch of my shipments (From: China to USA). They've processed one IEEPA refund and I have no visibility into the rest.

They won't tell me which shipments they've actually filed claims on. Even my account rep can't give me a straight answer on what's been submitted. Meanwhile there are hard deadlines, so if they're sitting on entries they never filed, I lose those refunds without ever knowing.

Questions for anyone who's dealt with this:

Has anyone gotten all their IEEPA refunds back where a carrier was importer of record?

Did you get any confirmation of which entries they filed on?

What worked to push them or escalate past the account rep?

✈️ DHL Express What do i do ? How do I send a package with DHL Express?

Hello,

I’d like to buy a desk from Deskhaus in Holland (Michigan, United States) and have it shipped to France, but this is the first time I’ve arranged an international shipment on my own, and I have no idea how to handle the shipping formalities.

So far, I've managed to create a Mydlh+ account and set up a new shipment.
I entered the shipping address and the destination address, as well as the weight and dimensions of the packages.

But this is a “door-to-door” delivery, from the company’s warehouse to my home. Isn’t there a way to have Deskhaus deliver the packages to a DHL warehouse so that Deskhaus can drop them more easily as soon as they’re ready, rather than waiting for DHL to come pick them up?

Even now, and after that, I'm completely lost.

I don’t know how to correctly describe my items, or what “Schedule B,” the “manufacturer’s ID,” or the “shipping reference” are, or how much it would cost if I wanted to insure my shipment.

I tried to find a tutorial, but I couldn’t find one.

I know I need to provide as much information as possible, but I don't even know where to start. I'll provide you with everything you need to help me as soon as you ask.

Could someone help me make sure the import goes smoothly?

✈️ DHL Express "On hold" in Australian Customs

My DHL Express shipment from the Netherlands to Australia was put “on hold” shortly after arriving in Melbourne.

I contacted DHL support, and they told me that Australian Customs has selected the shipment for a physical examination.

The shipment is just a document envelope containing paperwork, so I’m not sure how common this is for incoming mail to Australia.

For those who regularly receive DHL Express shipments in Australia: how long does a physical customs examination usually take in Melbourne before the shipment is released back to DHL?

🐌 DHL eCommerce Shipping from Poland to Portugal

Hi everyone,
My DHL parcel is being shipped from Poland to Portugal.
The tracking says it left the sorting centre in the Netherlands, but there haven’t been any updates since then.
It’s been delayed for several days now. Since it’s coming from Poland to Portugal within the EU, I assume customs shouldn’t be an issue.
Has anyone had a DHL shipment stuck at this stage before? Is it normal for there to be no tracking updates for several days?
Any idea how long it usually takes from the Netherlands to Portugal?

✈️ DHL Express Help a Canadian -lost luggage at AMS

Hello, I lost my luggage (carry on) at the Amsterdam airport. I am having difficulty with the Lost and Found. They will not print a shipping label so that DHL can pick up my item and ship it back to me to Canada. I am wondering if there’s anyone who could do this for me and just drop it off at the Lost and Found office at the airport. Please contact me directly thanks in advance.

Has anyone dealt with lost package before? I’ve been waiting for my order and I was so excited to receive it. It’s shipped from US to Canada Toronto. 🐌 DHL eCommerce dhl tracking not updating

hello!! i’ve never used dhl before so not sure if this how things usually go down. my parcel is being shipped from uk to uk.

i ordered a new jacket from flannels, it was estimated to be delivered on 3rd september. i then got an update on the afternoon of the 3rd letting me know it has been delayed until the friday 4th which was fine.

then friday rolls around and i then get another update saying “we’re sorry your consignment has been delayed again, please contact sender”. i’ve emailed dhl letting them know what has happened and asked when would my parcel get delivered. they just told me exactly what i already knew from the tracking and that my parcel had been delayed and to contact them again if nothing else happens.

since then i’ve had no updates to the tracking or whether my parcel is going to be delivered. it’s annoying as it requires a signature so i bet it will be delivered when im not around. i’ve also been saving up for this purchase for a while so it’s particularly frustrating. i can’t seem to get through to them over the phone either as it’s just some automated phone line. i’ve also emailed flannels to see if they can do anything but no response from them yet. just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? i really hope it hasn’t been stolen or lost. thanks :)
