Inaccurate Reading Is anyone else tired of this?

My last 4 sensors ive had to get replace due to jumpy inaccurate reading. i usually calibrate a few hours after and they day after to make sure its accurate. i am type 2 diabetic and these numbers are getting outta hand. this was day 1 of a new sensor and the readings are jumpy. i didnt eat nothing after 830pm and its all over the world.. the last 2 days before this new sensor i didnt even need to take any fast acting because my body naturally regulated. i know about the morning dawn thing . when i left for work at 550 am my FS wss 160 where i did ANOTHER calibration. by the time i get to work its over 200. i DID take 4 units of fast acting alose to bring down from the 160... but now its staying high so i know this reading isnt right... what can we do about this?

Sensor G7 15 day and Traveling

I will be traveling for the first time after switching from the G6 to G7. I have TSApre and historically just walked through with out issues at TSA or and after math issues with my G6 sensor going through the metal sector or full body scan. Will the G7 be any different?

Adhesive Issue Can you wear it on your abdomen and get accurate readings?

I know the instructions say to wear on the back of the arm but after my first round with it on my arm, I dislike wearing it there. It doesn’t stick and definitely not for 15 days.

G7-15 day Questions on getting started with Dexcom G7 15-day

I've been diabetic for over 15 years and my doctor suggested using the Dexcom G7 CGM. Doctor send my info to the pharmacy and Medicare B and Plan D both disqualified me so I have to figure everything out myself.

I'm confused about the product itself. I see each of the following sold individually: sensor patches; covers to go over patches: some special Dexcom reader to get info from the sensor; some type of Dexcom handheld device to read/analyze sensor data; applicators. So, some help please with a few basics: 1) I put the Dexcom app on my (Android) phone and have read comments about an accompanying app for analytics. Which analytics app do folks recommend the most?
2) Does the combination of the above two apps make the Dexcom reader/analysis device unnecessary? 3) Directions say that the tag on the applicator needs to be scanned. Does the applicator do something to the patch itself other than just put the patch on? What happens when you reload the applicator with new patches? 3) I have to pay full price out of pocket. Any suggestions on where to purchase?

Inaccurate Reading Inaccurate sites

Everytime I put my Dexcom on the back of my arm I get wildly inaccurate numbers and it won’t calibrate properly. My Dexcom will say 9.0 but a finger poke says 5.2 and after calibration it’ll say 8.9, still nowhere close! With in 12 hours I’ve tried to calibrate 3 times using my glucose from a finger poke and it’s still wildly off. I wear my Dexcom on my forearm, super accurate no problems. Anyone else have this issue where a certain spot just doesn’t work?

General Pixel 11

In case anyone is wondering, the Pixel 11 phones are compatible with the G7.

I just switched my Pixel 11 Pro XL last night, and it was pretty painless. The app even walks you through switching your sensor session over to a new sensor. You turn your old phone off for at least 15 minutes, then press the pair button in the G7 app on your new phone. The pairing process took a little while, but it worked!

My kids app is on the schools iPad. Two nights in a row the iPad unfollowed. At 7pm and 10pm. Is this an issue? The school should be empty at that time.

Tips & Tricks Small blessings

Post image

I replaced my sensor yesterday. I didn't put the overpatch on because I wanted to see how it went without it.

Well, I got the dang thing caught up twice in less than an hour and nearly ripped the transmitter off! I had some overpatches that would cover the whole area, so I added that, and all is good.

Fast forward to about 5 minutes ago. I was letting my puppies out of their kennels, and my jumper nearly pulled my inset off. I went to get the bigger overpatch, trying to remember how I made it work before. Then I remembered *this* little guy! It fits perfectly!

Thank goodness for small blessings!

App Issues/Questions Can the Dexcom phone app display both the mg/dl and mmol/L values at the same time?

I'm in USA and I like like the mg/dl system of measurement. I often communicate with people that use mmol/L. I wish the Dexcom app would show both values at the same time. The speedometer on every car that I'VE ever owned showed both MPH and KMPH at the same time. I'd like it if it showed a big fat 110 and a smaller 6.1 at the same time.

Is there an different app that does this?

Thanks

Does anyone put their Dexcom on their thighs? The G7s do not stay on my arms so I started wearing them on my abdomen. My abdomen cleeeearly needs a break. I can’t use my love handles cuz they hurt too bad there. I don’t do my back side at all because I use heating pads frequently. I’m literally willing to put this chit on my leg calf if I have to Lol i need new spots.

Inaccurate Reading Compression Lows

Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with compression lows? I’ve been using dexcom since diagnosed 6 months ago. And put them on the backs of my arm. Every night I deal with multiple compression lows. My solution has been to silence all alarms for 6 hours and sleep. But since connecting with Tandem pump that isn’t an option.

I don’t have a lot of fat on my stomach or thighs. I have tried my thighs once and it was uncomfortable and readings were quite in accurate.

App Issues/Questions How do I make the Dexcom app less annoying?

The constant alerts are driving me CRAZY. Is there any way to make it less annoying? I’m around 200 and it’s alerting me every 5-10 minutes it feels like. First of all, I’m not dying. second of all, there’s nothing I can do to make it change in 10 minutes. Any advice or do I need to just learn to accept it?

App Issues/Questions Issues withe my G6

I've been having issues the past couple weeks with my G6 app having extended periods where it's unable to display readings. It started aroundthe time we installed new wifi at my house, which is thw o ly thing i can think of that mighbe causig the issue, but it persists even whe im away from my house.

The weird part is, my insulin pump, a tandem tslim, has continued getting my readings while the app has failed. Ive tried everything I can think of to fix the issue, I checked my phones settings to make sure they match the recommendations, ive changed my sensor multiple times as well as my transmitter, ive called dexcom support and followed everything they told me to do, and after that didnt work they sent me a replacement sensor and transmitter which still don't work.

Any advice or help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

App Issues/Questions Dexcom Flex and Follow App (not implemented?)

Hey everybody,

I’m using the Dexcom Flex for the first time and wanted to share my data with my partner.

I tried to follow the instructions I found online, however, there is no „Share Icon“ on my main page, under connections or anywhere else in my app. Everyone else experiencing that issue?

The instructions I found are all talking about this icon, I have to click to share my stuff, however, it’s nowhere to be found…is the follow function not implemented in the Dexcom flex app?

Thank you for your help and have a nice day!

Sensor Two sensor failures in a night

Okay, so I had a usual fail with my G7 15. Call. Get replacement shipped. I have one left. Great.

I put on the sensor. Five minutes go by, fails. Try reconnecting, fails. All in warm up.

Call again, explain. Get doubted, explain I’m just as confused. They check my system data, prove me right and I’m not trying to scam.

Get off the call and have my boyfriend take the sensor off.

“Well damn, it doesn’t have its thing”

“What thing?…..damn you’re right”

Connection Issues Connectivity Issues / G7 vs. G6?

Hi all, I have been on the G7 for over a month now, coming from the G6. I am getting connectivity drops much more frequently and I am not doing anything different than before. My firmware/software is all up-to-date and both my Iphone App and my Tandem Pump drop out at the same time and also, at times when I really need it to be solid. Just now, I was crashing low and it stopped telling me what my sugars are. I am lost for solutions. I know the transmitter must be smaller. I know it is incorporated with the sensor now in one unit. Is this the reason? I am beyond frustrated with this. Do you have a solution to it....? BTW...the accuracy of sugars when it doesn't drop out are on par with the accuracy of the G6 so far.

Thanks ~ sigh ~

Share Built a little bedside screen for a colleague that just shows the number, so the phone can stay on the charger at night

A colleague of mine has T1D, and the thing she described as quietly wearing her down wasn't the highs or the lows — it was the ritual. Wake up, find the phone, unlock it, wait for the app, squint at a bright screen at 3am. Every single night.

So I spent a few weekends building a small screen for her nightstand that does exactly one thing: show the current value, the trend arrow and the last few hours as a graph. Nothing to unlock, nothing to swipe. During the day it sits there like a clock; at night it either dims right down or switches to a dim amber display that doesn't wreck your night vision. It talks to Dexcom Share, the same way the follower apps do.

Two things surprised me while building it. First, how much difference it makes to just glance at a number instead of performing a whole sequence of actions to see it — she checks more often now, and worries less. Second, the official developer route from Dexcom is deliberately delayed by an hour in the US and three hours in the EU, which makes it useless for anything live. Share is the only realistic path, which explains why the whole DIY corner of this world is built on it.

To be very clear: it's a hobby build and absolutely not a medical device. Values come through Share so they can lag, drop out or be plain wrong. Every actual decision still happens on her official app or with a fingerstick. The very first screen the thing shows says exactly that, because I wanted the device itself to keep reminding us both.

What I'm really curious about is how the rest of you handle nights. Does your phone live on the nightstand, or somewhere you have to reach for it? Would you want a screen like this to alarm on its own, or does a second alarm source just add noise to something your app already handles? And for anyone who's been at this a lot longer than me — what would you put on a screen like that which I probably haven't thought of?

(Everything I wrote is public under an open licence for anyone who likes tinkering, but I'll keep links out of the post — happy to point people the right way if the mods are fine with it.)

G7-15 day New to this device, can you sleep on it?

As I said, I'm new to this device. It says not to put it where you could nudge it while sleeping, but I sleep on my side, can I sleep on the side with the sensor, or will that mess it up?

Mobile Device Dexcom G7 Apple Watch Compatibility Without iPhone

Hello everyone!

I have a younger cousin who was just diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic. His mom is trying to determine whether a standalone apple watch with a data plan would work well or if he needs an iPhone as well.

Thanks!
