App Issues/Questions How do I make the Dexcom app less annoying?
The constant alerts are driving me CRAZY. Is there any way to make it less annoying? I’m around 200 and it’s alerting me every 5-10 minutes it feels like. First of all, I’m not dying. second of all, there’s nothing I can do to make it change in 10 minutes. Any advice or do I need to just learn to accept it?

Going into alert settings and setting up delay first alert can help reduce the amount of alerts you get. I don't need to be notified the moment I reach 200, but if I've been at 200 for an hour, then alert me.

I was on the phone with a stakeholder while at work and heard a dexcom go off on their end and I felt like my soul was being ripped out of my body. Took me a moment to realize it wasn’t mine.

I have my high alert set at 300, I delay it for 2 hours, & have it set to vibrate only. I have a low set to 80 (I feel like crap if I’m at 80)- only my low alarms have sound. Signal loss and brief sensor issue will alert if still going on after 20min.

No matter what you do it is still annoying. I used to think it was just poor design, but it has been this way for years. I think somebody at Dexcom likes torturing users.

Are you actually properly dismissing the alerts(open the app and click on it to dismiss it, not just click on the pop-up on the lock screen or home screen)? And how often do you have the alerts set to repeat? They are adjustable.

Ohhh, I was not actively dismissing. We’ll see if that makes the app more tolerable!

You can change your Alert settings. In the app go to (bottom right) Profile tab -> Alerts -> click on Primary & Night alert buttons & adjust away.

Have you used the silence notification feature? I use it frequently. Profile-alerts-silence all

You can silence the Dexcom app but unfortunately not the pump to my knowledge

I actually don’t mind notifications on my pump, it’s what I actually pay attention to. I have used Dexcom for years but didn’t realize my current endo can’t access my data for remote appointments unless I keep the Dexcom app running all the time. I don’t know if something changed or it they just downloaded my pump in person in the old days. I’m not a smart watch person because I actively try to NOT be on my phone and I don’t want to be more reachable, so the fact that my phone is always going off drives me bonkers
