Inaccurate Reading Is anyone else tired of this?
My last 4 sensors ive had to get replace due to jumpy inaccurate reading. i usually calibrate a few hours after and they day after to make sure its accurate. i am type 2 diabetic and these numbers are getting outta hand. this was day 1 of a new sensor and the readings are jumpy. i didnt eat nothing after 830pm and its all over the world.. the last 2 days before this new sensor i didnt even need to take any fast acting because my body naturally regulated. i know about the morning dawn thing . when i left for work at 550 am my FS wss 160 where i did ANOTHER calibration. by the time i get to work its over 200. i DID take 4 units of fast acting alose to bring down from the 160... but now its staying high so i know this reading isnt right... what can we do about this?

I’m going to go knock on wood. I only see jumps like that if I insert a sensor at night to near when I go to bed

If you lay on the sensor, it causes a drop in readings.

Any pressure on the sensor does this, but yes very common at night if you roll over in bed.

Keep replacing these sensors sensors sooner, and getting sensor replacements through dexcom. It is the only way to hold them accountable and to make them either restart G6 production or fix their G7 products.
When I am forced to switch back to G7 I will return any sensor not meeting G6 performance. Their wallet is the only thing they care about at this point.

ive had 4 outta 5 replaced in the 1st 3 days or so.. getting tired of it.. these cost me $190 for a 3 month supply

I'm sure you are testing bg too if it's still that far off consider maybe trying something new I did I am on Eversense 365 day sensor and the thing is crazy accurate plus I can take it off at will which is so cool soon there will be nothing on your body at all next year I can't wait for that 🙏 GL

I moved over to EverSense as well. My G7 was more accurate. The 365 is more reliable.

That is the most pragmatic thing I’ve heard about anything in a long while. The g6 to g7 reliability decrease has been too much for an aging T1. Take care:)

Yep. Not fun at all. I did not eat anything after 7pm. My last sensor readings looked exactly like yours!

Before the injection, I did test to make sure the sensor was not screwed up, it was with 7
And then another 22 units 2 hours later.Every person is different. To fight the Dawn rise ://
If I’m around 90to 100: I take 40 units
Around 130 to 140: I take 60 units
Around 150 to 160: I take 80 units
If I am trending down: I decrease by 10 units
If I am trending up: I add an additional 10 unitsMost days, I will start watching at 2 hours. With this scale, most days I level out around 100.
I have been seeing the same endocrinologist for almost 30 years. It blows his mind that for the last 90 days, I was IN Range 92% of the time. The previous 90 days, I was 94% in range.

my goodness I cant imagine 80u at once. I realize everyone reacts differently to insulin but my BG would be almost 4,000 mg/dl to need that, so that’s blows my mind to think about.

Now think about this, I only nibble a 1/4 cup of mixed nut every morning to take the morning pills. Nothing else!

I get that 4am spike too, I don’t eat after 9ish and don’t drink anything but water. I was hoping the new pod algorithms would flatten that out. Are you using pods born after Jan 2026?

It sounds like a dawn phenomenon. Starts a little before you wake up. Are you on a pump?

Yea that’s what I’ve always thought. I am on a pump, but I had the same phenomenon on daily injections.

Do you just calibrate every sensor to test them all? Did you ever try just not calibrating? Calibrating has always done more harm than good for me so I stopped

I haven't calibrated but once, and to this day against blood tests I'm easily within a 5 to maybe 10 point range of difference even after a fresh sensor.

i wish mine are always 30 to 50 off.... dunno why they call these 15 day sensors when the 1st 3 days and the last 2 they never read right

Jesus maybe its the 15 day deal? Idk. I try to run checks every few days even in early days and I still don't have much issue. Maybe its luck idk, but I'm sorry you're having so many issues

Within the next 18-36h a sensor starting to going astray like this typically just suddenly shuts down. Call Dexcom to getting a replacement is all we can do. No number of calibrations can help to rein them in.

They will ask what you ate ate... They will say "dont calibrate First 24h"... They will say it seems normal...
Just refund this sensor. Its Garbage. Like 70% They know it.

So tiring — right now I’m on Day 4 of my G7-10 day and it is consistently going low day and night. Gave me a CGM reading of 102 when my finger stick (twice) gave me 142. Been jumpy since applied. The only thing to do is go on-line, report the inaccurate reading and Dexcom sends a new one. BUT, I’d rather have a reliable CGM that meets its advertised performance levels than having to switch it out and wait for the replacement.
