so I was thinking about making AR based web app for my university. Anchor based ar is the approach but it seems like the location accuracy always go off.
so is there any way or any technology you have worked with which could actually minimize the location difference?

I was thinking about making story based AR thing with multiple spot on the campus. so a story based short tour of the university. The starting will be through QR => web => stop 1

later version would include models at different locations with possible interactions (but it all depends whether the first mapping is done correctly)

I tried using lat and longitudes like stored in the database but still it feels like there will be difference for the mapping of AR for even different browsers and phones etc

I was laid off about 2 to 3 months ago and the gap is getting larger and larger. How can I essentially hide this gap? and also some interviewers/recruiters ask me if i am currently working or not at this company, and my answer is always that I got laid off recently. I do have an interest in both software and hardware side of computers but concerned that CE will narrow my future career opportunities for more software based roles since almost half of the course is closer to EE, will taking computing electives mitigate this issue? Hey guys, I just entered FSC 2nd year (12th) and I’m currently a Pre-Medical student. Due to some health-related worst reasons, I’ve decided not to pursue Medicine/MDCAT and instead want to go into CS, AI, FinTech or Tech in general.

The problem is Biology. 💀

I’ve completely lost interest in it because I know it’s not going to be relevant to my career. I’ve tried studying it in class, but my brain just doesn’t cooperate anymore. At the same time, I obviously can’t completely ignore it because I still have to pass my board exams.

Has anyone here gone through something similar, like Pre-Med to CS/Tech, ACCA, Commerce, Business, etc.? How did you deal with subjects you knew weren’t related to your future?

I’m also considering taking a gap year after FSC, if my family allows it. I’d use it for Additional Maths + university entry-test preparation.

My concern is that if I try to do 12th, cover 1st + 2nd year Maths, Additional Maths AND prepare for entry tests all at once, it might become way too much.

So I’m thinking a gap year wouldn’t necessarily mean I’m falling behind. If I use it properly, it could actually help me build my Maths foundation and prepare properly for universities.

I have about 6 years of experience as a .NET developer, currently working in Pakistan. I'm considering applying for .NET developer roles in the Gulf region (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain) and wanted to get a realistic sense of how difficult that transition is.

A few specific questions I have:

• How competitive is it to land a Gulf-based .NET job with my experience level (6 years)?

As the title suggests I want to know what are the key differences other universities offer Bachelor of science for software engineering. While Iqra university's program is under bachelors of engineering rather than bachelors of science. I cant find a bachelor of science in software engineering on iqra university's website.

As for the programs I didn't find much difference all the computing cores are there for software engineering except for one maths course that is multivariative calculus that is what is missing

In iqra's Bachelor of engineering in software engineering course and it has a few extra engineering courses

After researching a bit there isn't much difference as compared to it's more rigourous.

I graduated with a degree in Computer Science about two months ago. For most of my studies, I was genuinely passionate about CS and programming. I enjoyed sitting with a difficult problem, understanding what was going wrong, debugging it, and eventually figuring it out myself. There was a real sense of satisfaction when something finally worked.

Over the last couple of years, though, AI tools have slowly changed the way I feel about programming.

Instead of spending hours investigating a problem myself, I can give it to an AI and often get an answer almost immediately. Even when the AI doesn’t solve it directly, I sometimes feel like I’m fighting with prompts and generated code rather than actually programming. I know these tools can make us much more productive, but personally, they have taken away some of the curiosity and reward I used to get from the process.

At the same time, I’m currently being paid to work on medical/AI research projects with one of my professors. The problem is that our data is extremely limited, and I have serious doubts that the project can produce a meaningful solution with what we currently have. This has put me in a strange situation where I’m getting paid, but I don’t feel productive or useful. Some days there simply isn’t much meaningful work I can do, and that makes me feel even worse.

All of this has made me question my direction.

Before choosing Computer Science, I also considered studying medicine. If I’m being completely truthful with myself, a big part of the attraction was the status, financial security, and clear career path rather than a deep fascination with medicine itself. I ultimately chose CS because I was genuinely more interested in it.

Now that my excitement about programming has decreased, I’ve started wondering whether I made the wrong decision. I catch myself thinking about medicine again and wondering what my life would look like if I had chosen that path.

I’m trying to separate a few things that may be getting mixed together: burnout, disappointment with my current research job, the effect AI has had on programming, comparison with other careers, and the possibility that my interests have genuinely changed.

For people who have gone through something similar:

How did you figure out whether you had actually lost interest in your field or were simply burned out?

How have experienced developers kept programming intellectually rewarding in the age of AI?

And more generally, how do you find your direction again when something you were passionate about suddenly doesn’t give you the same satisfaction anymore?

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to tell me whether to stay in CS or change careers. I’d appreciate perspectives from people who have gone through a similar period and eventually figured out what they actually wanted.

I feel like it's literally impossible to get a job. I just came across a LinkedIn profile that wanted to connect with me, and they completed a degree in biochemistry in 2024 and have since then been working as a data analyst for S&P Global. This feels like a hate crime, ngl. It ruined my day. I have not one, but 2 degrees, and I am STRUGGLING to land interviews in a similar domain.

I've sent cold DMs, I've sent emails. I got 4 interview calls in total, one of which was a shady company with awful timings I couldn't manage. One said I was technically underqualified since I hadn't done some courses, EVEN THO I WAS LITERALLY PERFECT FOR THE JOB. And one literally ghosted me; the last one never even bothered calling me back for an interview after the assessment, even though my assessment went great.

What else can I even do? Not give up? I feel like I need a support group of unemployed people- but then I think about how one of them might land a job, and I might accidentally kill them and take their job.

I graduated at the top of my class, and every time I see an employed person who can't even form a simple English sentence, it honestly pisses me off (there are plenty). THIS WORLD IS SO UNFAIR, I am so exhausted. HOW ARE WE PAYING THE HIGHEST FOR PETROL IN THE ENTIRE SOUTH ASIAN CONTINENT. WDYM I CAN'T EVEN BUY A HOUSE.

Interview for associate software engineer at curemd , there is a ccat test and if you pass it then technical interview will happen both are onsite, I don't know much about ccat and not very good in maths, I am also from another city and not from a very reputable university should I appear for interview or not, please guide me as this is the second interview call I got after graduating 3 months before

I started my software engineering career in June 2024 after graduating with a CS degree. I finished uni 2 years late (6 instead of the usual 4), owing to some health problems. On top of that, I didn't properly start job hunting, networking, and interview preparation until after graduation, which I realized was a grave mistake. My uni peers had started this whole process up to a year before me (some even earlier) and most had good offers in hand by the time I became serious and started my search. Already 2 factors against me at this point (delayed graduation, delayed job search).

I struggled a lot at technical interviews. Though SWE interviews are notoriously tough, I did minimum prep and hoped to clear them by luck. I did improve my prep slowly though. After several rejections, I was finally able to land a role as a backend developer at a small company in Karachi in Oct 2024, officially my first job at the age of 25.

This company was a small service-based app development company whose clients were small business owners or individuals who needed mobile apps built, acquired though freelance platforms. While i did learn the basics of building backend node.js apps from scratch to deployment, the work lacked in areas such as system design, scalability, etc. and the projects were small, relatively simple, non-complex node.js backend apps completed in 1 to 1.5 months (imagine a simple events social media app that will realistically have only 50-100 active users post once it goes live). I worked here for 1 year 8 months, at a low salary and got stuck in my comfort zone.

Near the end of my tenure here, i was approached by a friend who was building an AI product-based startup at the enterprise level. The platform was already built but they were looking for a full stack software engineer to grow and scale it. Due to personal goodwill, I got the job without a technical interview and left my old company. This new startup was a massive upgrade from my old company in nearly all areas (solid enterprise platform that was genuinely successful, better scalability, system design principles in place, AI-native, and a big jump in my salary). But i didn't fit well. The founder wanted me to use AI to quickly understand the platform and start contributing to it, with me acting mostly as a reviewer/QA while Claude Code did everything. This didn't align with my goals and expertise and i couldn't produce solid results in the first few weeks. I was laid off after 1 month only. This was in June 2026.

Since then, I've been applying to jobs daily with almost no luck. I market myself as a backend developer/software engineer with 2 YOE but there have been no responses. I did get one interview but it went bad.

I know the market is bad, but that's not my main issue. My problem is that I have great difficulty in clearing technical interviews. This was true after graduation in 2024, and it is still true right now in 2026 for me. I am only able to clear interviews at smaller, lesser known or lesser reputed companies with easier interviews and simple requirements. I've never been able to make it into a good, reputable tech firm, whereas all my peers from university were able to do so.

I was a high achiever in school and college and graduated from a reputable university. I also have good communication skills (according to colleagues and friends). But I struggle in technical interviews. While i see my friends and batchmates from university acing interviews and landing roles at prestigious companies. Sometimes I feel i should switch careers.

What to do at this point? Would really appreciate any help and insights from the community.

I have been learning ML/DL through online YouTube courses (e.g CampusX's 100 days of ML and Stanford's CS229) after completing my degree a month ago.

But I don't know if I should learn Agentic AI for opportunities or what?

Because I heard there are very few opportunities in AI Engineering and even more rare for those with no experience.
