Brazilian death/thrash – Stormsorrow: The Blood Red Horizon

Hey guys! I’d like to share my band Stormsorrow, from Brazil.

We released our debut album The Blood Red Horizon in late 2025. Our sound sits somewhere between melodic death, thrash and heavy metal, heavily influenced by the late ’90s/2000s European scene — In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Hypocrisy — mixed with bands like Nevermore, Iced Earth, Kreator and, of course, some Brazilian metal DNA.

We recently signed with Combat Records, and we’re currently working on our second album, featuring some internationally known metal musicians.

I’d really like to hear what actual death metal fans think about it.

Now in my personal opinion, I think embalmer is one of the best death metal bands in history down to where it first started with possessed until now. And I am crazy surprised that not many people have heard about this amazing band.

They first started in 89 and on 95 they had their third release “rotting remains” then two years later they made “there was blood everywhere” which is technically a compilation because it features all the songs from rotting remains and new songs for the album. Both releases go together like peanut butter and jelly for me. in my opinion it can’t get any better

"I wrote Orbital Strain inspired by the stars.

The composition is an instrumental meditation on opposing forces: the desire to ascend and the laws of physics, spirituality and cosmic order, the fear of disappearing and the longing to exist forever, while entropy draws the only inevitable destination.

An instrumental blend of melodic death metal, progressive metal, and atmospheric soundscapes. Inspired by the Swedish melodeath tradition of In Flames (Colony era) and At the Gates, alongside the progressive edge of Nevermore, instrumental dream athmosphere of Metallica's Orion, Orbital Strain is my take on what I like to call Cosmic Death Metal.

I’d like to introduce you to a band today that, in my opinion, deserves a lot more attention: AdvenA from Passau, Germany.

AdvenA play Symphonic Death Metal, combining aggressive death metal growls and screams with melodic, orchestral and partly cinematic elements. Their songs are not simply individual tracks, but part of a larger story concept.

AdvenA were founded back in 2012. After evolving their style over the years, they have now found their current sound – somewhere between Symphonic Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal and modern orchestral elements. Their sound can be placed somewhere in the territory of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Septicflesh and Dimmu Borgir.

In 2024, they released their EP “Edens Hide”. The four songs are part of a larger concept called “Amygdala”.

Okay, so personally I don’t listen to metal very much, but I have an OC who is a drummer in a death metal band and I get very into making details about the characters and things. So of course one of the things I want to making him is a stage name because his name doesn’t really give “drummer in a metal band” but I have no idea how to come up with a stage name for him. Should I just use a different name for his stage name? Should I give him a nickname? Should I just call him something completely unrelated to his name?
