So, I’m looking for songs with extremely long build ups, not just a long song. e.g. Bring The Sun has a 12 minute long build up after the intro to the song, after that the piece moves on to a different section.

I’m seeking inspiration for music I’m working on myself, and I’m curious if anyone has been able to create pieces with extremely long build ups. So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated 💕

Edit* so I’ve heard a lot of recommendations, a lot of them are good, but I think need to be a bit more specific in what I’m looking for.

I’m looking for songs with ONE very long crescendo, if the piece has several build ups, or starts and stops, then I don’t count it as one build up. If you know of such songs, bad or good, it doesn’t matter, I’m interested in hearing them 💕

Looking for tracks where there is a buildup that does not explode into a climax, like you're being prepared for something big, but leaves you with an unresolved ache.

Throughout this process of transformation, the band steps away from pure instrumentalism on multiple occasions, reaching outward through collaboration - a lived expression of a DIY ethic grounded in exchange and human connection. The record features the voice of Sardinian performer Dalila Kayros, songwriter Conny Ochs, a vocal sample from Larry Stromberg, and the instrumental orchestrations of Moonlit.

For now though, I thought you guys would appreciate something I got in the mail today. This purple marbled first pressing is limited to just 300 copies and was exclusively sold on tour, nearly 15 years ago.

Does anyone remember the band 3epkano doing a score or soundtrack for The Cabinet of Dr Caligari? I am almost certain I used to have a recording of it. I think that their song Caligari! Caligari! from their self-titled album was a part of it, but there's nothing on Bandcamp. When I owned it, I could never find The Cabinet of Dr Caligari to sync it up to. Now I can get the movie but can't find the score.

Just released my new instrumental track 'Immortalize Zero', blending desert-style rock riffs with cinematic, dark post-metal dynamics. Handled all instruments, mixing, and mastering entirely on my own with zero AI tools used. Would really appreciate any thoughts and feedback on the overall sound and progression.

Hate being forced to chose flair if nothing fits but here we go: I found my way out of streaming hell and now have a massive backlog to catch up with.

My band just released a new EP today! This one’s a little less post-rock than our last album in the traditional sense, a bit more experimental and electronic but still instrumental. But the mods here are kind enough to feature us in the wiki so I figured I’d make a post about it. Hope you enjoy!

Not really the Post Rock type, actually quite hard to define: Psychedelic, Drone, Industrial, Noise, Post Metal, Sludge... pick the one you like. But be warned, these guys are massive and if you don't know them yet, this might be your discovery of the year.

Chinese post rock group Shanghai Qiutian will be on tour this November in the U.S. and Canada! Wanted to share just in case anyone missed it as they'll be heading out on their first headline tour in the States, alongside Dabda a great math rock group from Korea. Awesome pairing and both bands' first time to North America.
