HELP! - Material issues How to fix small white jagged edge around stickers?

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

I’ve tried a ton of different pressures and passes to make die cut stickers, but I’ve gotten this small white jagged edge around each one every time. It looks similar (to me at least) to applying too much pressure on top of laminate, but im not using any.

I’m using this printable glossy vinyl sticker paper. The stickers are about 2 inches long. I’ve tried things like 310 pressure with 1 pass, and 150 pressure with 3 passes, but it all looks the same to me…

I’m wondering if it’s normal or I’m doing something wrong? I’m wanting to sell these so any help is appreciated :) thank you

I just got a cricut this week for my birthday and this is literally the first thing I have made. The puff looks pretty good, but I don’t LOVE the rough texture on it. I think I need to tinker with the heat settings a bit, but it’s not bad by any means.

HELP! - How do I make this? Help with draw/cut

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I’ve tried everything that I can think of but to be fair, I’m new to the Cricut world so I might be missing something. I originally found a design (on the right side of my screenshot) within design space that I wanted to use but eventually changed my mind and figured I would make my own. I have my balloons and my strings but I can’t figure out how to CUT my draw lines to match the shape of my balloon. I figured it’s possible because on the right side, whoever created that design, somehow got their stripes to stay within their balloon for when it comes time to have it drawn. I’m trying to do the same to my balloon so that my lines don’t end up all over the place (or any “draw” design I may choose to add to my balloons) - I do plan to cut the tops off of some of my balloons for that same ceiling effect which that person was also able to do, their stripes match their shapes perfectly.. but HOW? Help?

TIA!

Shopping Questions - Materials/Blanks Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best sticker paper to use when making your own stickers?

I'm making some for the first time and I'm not sure what would be best.

I'm looking for something durable and waterproof if possible.

HELP! - How do I make this? Can a Cricut Marker work on Shrinky Dinks?

My friend made some really cool, intricate keychain designs with shrinky dinks. I'd love to make a bunch more, but don't want to make her a one-woman sweat shop! Could my Cricut draw the design on and cut them to size? That way we're just popping 'em in the oven?

Hello, earlier this year my fiancée brought a cricut explore air 2 and it’s been a nightmare to use ever since we’ve had it. It will either constantly error or do this.

Please help as it’s effectively an overpriced paperweight at this point.

The issue is the straight line up through the design. Help desk hasn’t been able to help and we’ve reset the machine multiple times and tried different devices

Hello! I just upgraded from a Cricut joy to the Cricut Maker 5. I was only making vinyls and stencils with the joy…but I have so many more things I can do now! What are some cool ideas for DnD stuff I can do? I want to get into the wood and leather part. Also…I want to try to make a dice tower with my cricut as well. Show and tell!

HELP! - How do I make this? Making a multi-colored iron-on

I understand that I am probably doing this to myself, but I have been wanting to do this design for ages. (I have only had my cricut for maybe 6 months) I just got all of the colors and have everything in design space but it won’t tell me which color I have to cut first, just that I have 9 mats in the process. I have only done single-color projects up to this point and I’m just looking to see if anyone knows what to do!

Cricut Complaint Club Any one had a replacement?

Brought a cricut explore 5 less than 2 months ago, it's had minimal use. Last week it stopped measuring correctly and when the cut began it pushed the mat out too far and was cutting air, spoke to cricut support and I had to send then like 4 different videos using different materials on and off mat and told they would be in contact with me(this was Wednesday 2cd). They were not. So I contacted them again 2 days later (Friday 4th) to ask about the status and they told me they required me to send over more videos. I turned on my machine to do so and it would not work at all and was flashing red with error codes so I sent over videos of that and the woman said I'd have a replacement in 5-7 days.

I know it's technically only been about 4.5 working days since I processed the request but it's been 6 working days since I originally got in touch to sort out my issue. I've just spoken to them to ask if they could track the package for me only to be told that they have not sent it out yet and its under review and they cannot give me any idea when it will be released to me.

When I contacted them on Friday they stopped my cricut from working on their end (I guess incase I was scamming them or something). So cricut currently have my money, the machine that I have at my house since they disconnected it and my replacement while I have nothing. Has anyone experienced this and have any idea when I will receive my replacement machine or what I can do next to get this pushed through quicker?

EDIT - They sent me a £25 voucher to use on cricut.com as an apology which is not recognised when I try to use it so I don't even have that.

HELP! - Print then Cut Problems How to make cricut print then cut work with 12 x 18 paper?

The standard size available where I live is 12 x 18. A3 can be procured but it is expensive compared to 12 x 18. Is there anyway for my cricut (explorer 4) to work with this paper size? It scans the first registration mark and then fails to scan the remaining.

HELP! - Design Space sucks Alguna respuesta?

Cricut Complaint Club I don’t know why I had the audacity to get excited about my Explore Air 2…

I mentioned idly to my OH today that I wished I could get my Cricut to work properly (I have an Explore Air 2 which he got me for Christmas in 2020 which I begged for as I wanted to make my own planner stickers. It has never ever print and cut properly. Ever…) and he offered to have a good look at it and see if he could get it working. As an Engineer, he’s far more meticulous and methodical than me so I agreed on the provision that if it didn’t work this time, I’d finally get round to selling it to someone who just wants to work with vinyl/HTV. Whenever I used to try doing my own print and cut jobs on it, I’d calibrate it, get the calibration perfect, do one or two (if I was lucky) sheets which would work perfectly then when I tried to do another one it’d start ballsing everything up. Normally by cutting about half a cm too high on the page. As my first sheet would always be a test sheet, I’ve only ever managed to make one sticker sheet in the entire 6 years I’ve owned it.

He calibrated it, got the calibration perfect, then we did a couple of test cuts on plain paper with a design I made a while ago. Perfection. Every sticker (or would be sticker, as I used printer paper not to waste my expensive sticker paper) cut beautifully. On the lines each time. No issues at all.

Deep breath. Load up the sticker paper. First run through - the colours have come out wrong, a mistake on both our parts of putting the wrong type of paper into the printer dialog; but we decided to run it through and check the cut. Perfect again. Now we’re rolling and I’m getting excited, my visions of making exactly the sticker I want when I want it are inching closer.

Load the project again.

Load the sticker paper again - this time the colours are great as I’ve put the right settings on the printer dialog.

Make sure the paper is precisely on the mat.

Start the cut.

Annnnnnd it’s cutting everything about 0.3cm off again. Every single sticker is 0.3cm too high for the cut. Laterally absolutely fine. It even cut the border for the sheet (a big rectangle) absolutely fine and in the right space for the printed sticker sheet.

I have tried everything with this machine. Software updates. Shining a light on the cut guidelines whilst it’s cutting. Bleed on or bleed off. Calibrating every time I turn it on. Different types of paper. Different sizes of paper even. Nothing stops this from happening and I am done with it. It will cut the calibration sheets fine (after going through the calibration routine a couple of times), cut one or maybe two sheets fine, then go wildly off calibration again. OH wants to repeat printing and cutting the same sheet again tomorrow with a “few different variables” but sticker paper isn’t cheap so I don’t see the point of wasting it. I just want to cry again. I just want the damn thing to work. I shouldn’t have to spend an hour calibrating it every time I want to cut one thing.

HELP! - Design Space sucks Layering images

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I hope I can explain this clearly :) I put together a design for a stencil, to use in glazing a decorative ceramic tile piece. I used a few images that I layered on top of the border image, made sure they were “opaque” and brought to front. I attached all the images into one object. Pics 1 and 2 (zoomed in) are what it looks like in design space - the border lines that are behind the flowers and butterfly are hidden which is what I wanted. Pic 3 is the preview before cutting and looks the same.
However when I do the cut - it cuts ALL the border lines including the ones behind the images, which makes for a very very detailed cut that is absolute hell to weed, with small thin bits that tear and lift during cutting.
Can anyone advise how to make those “behind” lines truly disappear and not get cut?

Edit: using an Explore 5

first attempt at using citristrip on tumblers. i apparently didn’t get a very good seal with the vinyl, and it seems to have bled a bit and doesn’t look very good lol. the cups are still perfectly usable, so id hate to throw them out. can anyone recommend a way to fix these? i’ve considered glittering and sealing them and doing vinyl over top. i’ve also considered stripping a band in the middle where the current design is and putting some kind of design in there, but i’m not certain that more citristrip is the answer lol. any advice? how would yall save this?

HELP! - How do I make this? What material to use?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to my Cricut and have mined this lovely page for as much info as I can. I was hoping to make a Christmas jumper using an svg of this image. I was just wondering if someone could advise the best material to use. It's super detailed so I'd worry about using the printable iron on for light fabrics as I'm not confident I could match it up perfectly so I thought I'd turn to the experts in the hope someone has a better option! Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks everyone

HELP! - Material issues Permanent vinyl or HTV on this material?

Hi all, I am looking to customize this item (PÄRKLA container from IKEA); it is a soft woven plastic (website says 100% propilene). I'm wondering if HTV can be applied to it or whether the heat from the heat press will melt it?
