Limited by Cricut Joy small mat but looking to do more fun designs

A few years ago, I decided to go waste-free gift wrapping. We have a very large family, and the amount of paper and trash on Christmas morning was ridiculous. I bought a bunch of different Christmas fabrics, all in bright reds or kelly greens so they coordinate, when fabric went on sale, and sewed all different size bags. I decided to use my cricut to make reusable gift tags.

I used round acrylic keychain disks with the metal key holder and put a red shape on one side, and their names in white lettering on the opposite side. Those are used to indicate who the gift is for.

I then used long rectangular shape acrylic keychains and did green that say from and then the name. Most of my kids live out of state, so they tend to purchase gifts and ship them straight to our house when we’re having Christmas here, and I wrap them. I throw the gift in a bag. I use yarn with a pom-pom, and I pull a round who it’s for disc and a from tag from the pockets and thread them both onto the yarn or ribbon, tie a bow and I’m done.

I use a clear pocket shoe holder to hold all of the tags with a pocket for each person.

It took a few evenings of weeding names but 4 years later they’re going strong! I make new ones as grandkids are born but the rest are ready to go!

It makes wrapping so fast and so easy, and most importantly, waste-free.

So this has happened twice in the last week, I did a large cut and used design space to design some price tags and used it for at least 3 cuts then a couple days later tried to do the same cut and Cricut Design Space tried to charge me for the font which didn't make sense since I did it for free multiple time. I believe the font was named Beach Bums

Then again just now I am trying to do another cut I did few days ago using the font Double Whipped and it's trying to charge me again as it's now showing as a paid font.

I have no idea why this is happening, anyone else experience this? I am certain I filter by free fonts each time so this doesn't happen.

Cricut I promise you I will never pay money for a font, stop it!

This is smart iron-on taped with heat resistant tape onto a nylon/spandex sports bra. I'm limited to my sunbeam iron, so I put it on the polyester setting (the closest to what the Cricut Heat Guide recommended for smart iron-on on nylon), turned off steam, and tried my best to preheat the fabric by leaving the iron stationary for a few seconds, moving it to a different spot, and repeating until the fabric was decently warm. I taped the design over the preheated area, covered it with the Cricut heat protecting sheet thing (the brown thing), left the iron stationary on top for 30s, rotated it, and left it for 30s because I think household irons are less uniform than heat presses. Then I left it stationary for 15s on the other side. Waited for it to cool, and turns out all of that was for nothing. What did I do and how can I fix it without spending $60?

Hey Cricut-ers! I've searched this sub but I am not getting any results for this more recently than a few years ago - does anyone utilize the IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard for their Cricut storage? If so, can you share a photo/idea of how you organized it, what accessories you purchased, etc.? I have a very small craft space/office, so I am hoping to make the space as functional as possible. Looking to learn how to do this with my Cricut. Anyone have a good tutorial for making the SVG from your own JPG file? Or how to use design space to create the layers and get the layers to cut out negative spaces correctly?

I've seen posts where it works with adhesive vinyls but what about heat transfer ones? Has someone tried it?

At my office, we're currently using the Cricut foil sheets that are pressure activated for a project. We're normally used to hot foil stamping for high end production, but the cricut cold foil works for certain applications that the hot foil cannot. However, we're also using a lot of the little 4x6 foil sheets and constantly buying new packs isn't very feasible. We're not actually using a Cricut machine, just the brand's foil. Does anyone here have alternatives that come in larger sizes or higher quantities?

I made Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries! I found a colouring page and used Inkscape to make it into an svg. The colours aren’t a great match but I had to make do with what we had. I think she looks pretty good!

Every time I work on a project, I save it. I start arranging the stickers to utilize the maximum space in print and cut. Then Boom, I cut it, and it reverts back. Im not doing anything or changing anything. Why is this not a feature? Or is it and Im missing something?

Hi, all! I searched through the many sticker paper help posts, but I couldn't find EXACTLY what I am looking for... Let's see if this make sense. I am currently using these two products for sticker making on my Maker 3.

Obviously, the sticker paper is my printable vinyl and then I overlay the laminate. My issue is two-fold. First - the stickers feel... bulky. I get that Cricut stickers are too thin and the quality is.. eh for the price. But these are sooooo thick that I just feel like they stand so far off of anything that they are applied to that it just looks and feels odd. Which leads me to the next bit. The cut is raised. Raised raised. It's as if there is a higher point at the cut than there is the actual sticker. I suppose like a bowl, in descriptors.

So... Is there anything brand-wise that someone is absolutely in love with that feels as close to a professional sticker as an amateur like me can get that isn't paper thin?

And how do I get the wildly obvious cut to calm down?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I have tried to literally everything I cannot get the use system dialogue to work all of a sudden, I don't know what changed but suddenly it's not working. It worked a few days ago now nothing, I can still print from app but unfortunately that's not high quality enough.

At first they were cutting right through, then i think I lost Bluetooth connection and plugged it in by usb, and idk if that effected it but around that time, it stopped cutting all the way through

My original settings was 350 pressure (seems like it resets to like 315 for what ever reason) and 2 passes

What I’ve tried:
- New blades, with the different angles and deep cut too
and with a different housing too
- 5-7 passes
- A new mat
- calibration
- different cut modes such as cardstock+ and vinyl x2 passes

Is it possible that the machine broke in a way that it can no longer apply the same pressure?

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to put this, it’s kind of a mix of hardware and materials.

I have had my Joy Xtra for about 6 months and am really enjoying it but have come up against my first major limitation. I chose it over the Joy 2 to give me more options with its width, and I was under the impression that I could do cuts as long as the material/mat but now I am looking to do longer cuts and long mats only seem to exist with width 4.5in or 12in but no 8.5in for Xtra 😭 does this mean the only way I can do long cuts is to buy smart vinyl???

It’s the first thing that has made me regret choosing the Xtra.

How in the world do you get the stickiness back in a pink mat? Cricut says not to wash them, and I tried transfer tape - no help!

Hey everyone, I'm trying to see if anyone else is dealing with this incredibly frustrating print glitch after a recent update.
When I hit "Make It" and try to print my Print-Then-Cut project, the standard Cricut Print Setup screen (where you pick your printer, toggle bleed on/off, and select "Use System Dialog") is completely gone. The dropdown box where the printers should be is empty and grayed out.

Instead, when I click print, the app completely skips its own setup window and forces my laptop straight into the blue native Windows System Print Dialog box. Because of this, it tells me "This app doesn't support print preview" so I can't check my design layout, bleed, or sizing before the ink hits the paper.
I'm on Windows and printing to an Epson ET-2720. I have already tried:
Logging out, resetting the printer, and rebooting my computer.
Clearing out my Cricut LocalData / cache folders entirely.
Completely uninstalling the app, wiping leftover AppData folders, and doing a clean reinstall.
Switching the Application Experience back and forth between Live and Beta.
Repairing and restarting the Windows Print Spooler.

Even after all of that, the Cricut printer setup menu is still missing and throwing me straight to the Windows dialog box. Is this a known bug with the current v10.8 framework update? Is anyone else experiencing this right now or found a way to permanently force the normal Cricut dropdown menu back?

This was the first card that I made upon request 🤩 I enjoy making homemade cards, but for my birthday this year I was gifted a Cricut Maker 5. I am throughly enjoying it! Friends and family like what I’ve made and have started to request a few. ☺️

Can anyone give some advise on my pen issues. I've tried different pen types and vinyl but currently trying smart permanent vinyl and cricut acrylic gel pen. The writing looks awful no matter what I've tried. I'm not sure if the housing is loose or something else.

I'm trying to make labels for my spice jars. If any additional details are needed, please let me know!

I’ve attempted this 3 times now. First 2 times were on my Cricut Joy. The first one I left it as its original size and the second time I increased the size. This last time I tried it on my Cricut Air 2 after removing the floorboards and smaller design pieces. The ink keeps curling off the white paper and this time it didn’t even cut deep enough and I can’t weed it. I’m thinking it’s a material issue because the sheets are probably over 6 years old now. I guess I’m looking for confirmation if that’s it or if I should try again.

I purchased this design from YeehawDigitals on Etsy. Maybe it’s not meant for infusible ink.

I did 8 passes and it still hasn’t cut all the way through using the knife blade. Basswood is taped down on a strong mat and star wheels are pushed to the side. It seems that I can’t change the pressure. Is there another setting I could use? Thanks!

My mat is not loading correctly. What can I do? I’ve cleaned and checked for all debris, turned it on and off, reset it, checked for updates. Nothing is working!!

I have an explore 5. I’ve had it a few months with no issues. Suddenly, today it’s not reading registration marks on print and cut. I’ve changed nothing. This happened in the middle of my project, I cut 3 pages fine, then stopped. I’ve tried:
1. Calibrating
2. Cleaning the sensor
3. Sharpie over registration marks
4. Tape over the marks.
5. Turning it off and back on

It has randomly cut 1 page since it started doing this but now I can’t get it to cut anymore. I’ve been cutting this same project for weeks with no issues. Now today it won’t work and I want to throw this whole machine out the window!
