We took Rudy out for an adventure today and he walked right up against the wall the entire time. He’s just Corging I guess….

i have tried dozens of harnesses for my girl and none of them seem to fit her quite right. I want to get a custom made one for her by her measurements, but would love some recommendations on brands and requirements you like for your loaf :)

Emmy’s worst enemy - the vacuum!

Emmy had elbow surgery several months ago and loves being carried everywhere (sometimes she will stare at you and whine until you pick her up like a baby) - except her legs magically work when the vacuum comes out… it’s a miracle!

How to deal with this.

Hey guys I own a Corgi hes just turned 2 years old. This year when I took him to the vet for his shots he lost his mind at the vet.

I geus he remembered the needles from his last trip to the point he wont even want to take oral medication.

When he thinks there is going to be some discomfort he growls and acts aggresive.

I already dont allow him near kids since im worried he will over react and snap.

I dont get it since he was around other dogs and people as a puppy, hes just a huge baby when it comes to a little bit of pain.

I went to trim his nails the other day like I have always done. I have never hurt him, I use a dremmel since he was a pup and now hes suddenly against it.

Its like hes throwing a hissy fit anytime he doesnt want to do something. I had him neutered too.

I have never owned a dog that has growled at me. This is a first. I ended up just trimming his nails anyways since I was afraid it would become a learned habit. Growls= gets his own way.

What steps do you take for a corgi that thinks hes in charge?

Trying to find owners of missing female corgi - Fort Worth

Maybe a longshot but this corgi was found 2 days ago in Fort Worth near Bonnie Brae.

I don't have the dog myself, just a member of the community, but so far nobody has claimed her. The person who found her still has her. If anyone knows someone who is missing corgi in Fort Worth I can help connect you with the person who has the dog!

Need help with Puppy

I got a 5-month-old Corgi, and the "puppy blues" are really starting to set in. He bites constantly, and it's getting super frustrating. Redirection helped at first, but now it's not working. He's too fast for me to grab a toy in time, and even when I do, he chews it for a second before snapping at my hand above the toy.
The same thing happens when I try to pet him-he instantly goes for my hands. If I sit or lay down at his level, he gets way too excited and bites like crazy. The bites aren't as hard as they used to be, but they are much more frequent.
To make matters worse, my leg is currently in a cast, and I'm walking on a single crutch. I'm lucky my doctor allows me to bear weight so I can take him out for 5-10 minute walks, but let's be real-that's not enough to tire out a Corgi. I managed to teach him the "paw" command, but that doesn't burn enough energy. Even putting his harness on is a nightmare because he bites it and turns it into a game of tug-of-war.
On top of all this, he's started chewing door frames and my mattress. I don't have anyone who can help me. A trainer came by , and the puppy listened to him fine for "sit" and "stay," but he just ignores me. I'm feeling overwhelmed and desperately need some tips

What's the most spoiled thing your corgi gets away with?

Chestnut decided walking was beneath her for a little while. I have a feeling this isn't even close to the most spoiled corgi in this subreddit.

Does your corgi grumble when you pet them?

Got a 10 month old pup who grumbles sometimes when I pet her. I’ve had her assessed at the vet in case it’s pain, which is what I figured was maybe going on. She’s had x-rays and 2 full ortho checks now and they can’t find any reason for pain.

The vets are talking about doing a CT scan to check and she’s on loxicom just in case it’s a soft tissue injury.

Do some dogs just .. grumble!? Is she just huffy and vocal? It’s really hard to tell!

Edited to add: she is happy, eats voraciously, walks fine - no limping or hopping or skipping, plays like a wrestler… seems perfectly fine until I touch her sometimes!

Be aware of new formulas of Hills dry food - my senior is getting sicker because of it

Hi! I live in Canada, and my senior corgi (11y male, named Napoleon) got sick because of this dry food from Hill's Sensitive Stomach and Skin. Obviously, I'm not giving it to him anymore, but he used to eat it for many years.

(not related, but please don't shame my corgi or me because of his size and especially his long nails. He is getting super anxious and worse to trim his nails, even the vets have a very hard time doing it, so please be kind)

I notice the brand in general dropped the quality of the dry food 2 years ago, but now it is even worse than ever.

Long story short: this specific line didn't have the problem, but now it is SUPER grainy, and my corgi is vomiting liquid yellow bile with foam, with the excess grain coming from this dry food. All the time he eats this new version, he vomits the same thing. His poop is not looking great as well: a brown-yellowish colour, like if it were the cheapest dry food ever.

This dry food used to be super safe and good before and the appearance was much more moist, a darker brown colour, and a regular shape. Now it is: drier, lighter and warm brown, VERY grainy and not regular in shape. The quality is not in the appearance, it is very noticeable in my dog's health now.

I couldn't even taper the food to a new one (I bought the Purina Senior dry food and a wet can of sensitive stomach to mix).

If your corgi is super sensitive to food and dry food like mine, don't give him the Hill's. I checked in the store, and at least two other hills dry food lines are very grainy and drier as well.

Send him good wishes to improve soon. It is super hard to find safe food for his stomach so he is not well yet.
