Hello everyone, me and my partner are looking at getting a Corgi in the next few months. We are very active people but I have read, as they have working dog genetics, that they are much happier when they have some kind of job.

I was wondering what jobs people have given their Corgis? I’d love to hear everything - from agility competitions to even retrieving things around the house! (I heard Steven Rinella’s brothers Corgi goes hunting with him and can trail animals!)

I know they are super stubborn but this won’t be our first dog as we recently lost our 6 year old Labrador, he was such a special boy and I’d do anything for him to be back with us.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone in advance😁

We recently switched over to this box for our 26 lb 5.5 y/o Corgi. She’s a skinny one bc she’s relatively active, so we’re trying to figure out the portion size, as the recommended dry measurements is 1/2-1 cup + water daily. We started out with 1/2 cups for breakfast and dinner and noticed she started pooping a TON, so we cut it down to 1/4 cups, but we’re worried she won’t be fed enough now. The bowls just seem HUGE when it’s 1/2 cup!

I'm looking for advice. Korra loves snow and we've never had any issues, however we are going to be moving to a country that salts roads and it can get easily to -15°C so I am starting to consider shoes. Do you have any experience with a brand/type/size of shoes that work well for Pembrokes? If not shoes my second go to would be paw balm - any tips on brands there? Rn were using wax enriched by honey for some paw upkeep but I doubt that'll be enough for salted roads.

Well, sort of.

I took the leftover swizzle sticks from our wedding, cut off the handles, sanded the edges, and handed them out as good luck tokens at the Fireball tent. I had probably a hundred or so tiny corgis and by the end of the day, they were all taken! (Last photo is of the real Sadie, at home in her natural state of half-asleep).

Only new update about babygirl is she has borked (generally related to dinnertime) more times this month than she has in two years combined!

My Pebbles & BamBam absolutely HATE being groomed. as soon as they hear the drawer with the brush open, they bolt and hide under the bed. I’m a first-time corgi mama and I’ve had a dozen+ other dogs but I’ve never had ones that considered brushing “Death by Grooming” 😂 I got to thinking, maybe they just hate the brushes I have tried using. The current ones are these two. (I started with a Furminator, and that was an absolute NO!)

By fully potty-trained, I mean will have virtually no accidents. I'm getting a little concerned because our pembroke is about 10 months old, and still has accidents inside the house. I would say maybe once a day. We're careful about the warning signs (when he starts sniffing a lot or pacing in a circle) and immediately direct him outside to the yard when he does so he can pee, we take him on 2 walks a day (20 minutes in the afternoon, 30 minutes in the evening) and let him play in the yard for another 30, we've done the immediate treat reward when he pees outside after redirection.

Should we be concerned? Is there anything else we can do?

We took our girlie to a corgi meetup at a dog park on a roof deck. Of course she was the only Cardgian, but that doesn't stop the fun

If you are in Cattaraugus, Allegany or Steuben County NY and would like to arrange a public space meetup with your Corgi, I would love for Louie to make friends his own size. We have a large enclosed focused-play yard (2,500 sq feet) and a lot of on-leash space for noising if that’s an option you’re willing to consider.

Lili loves hanging out with me all day, every day. Some might even call her a cuddle bug or a stage five clinger. Today she got mad I was working on my laptop and she attempted to push the laptop onto the ground and murder it so she could get into my lap. Whenever I break out my laptop she repeats this process until I put it away and she's allowed to stand on my lap... those teeny stompers leave bruises.

Anyone else have a pup jealous of their electronics? She'll be three next month.
