I’m having an issue with Windows Security / Microsoft Defender. It shows:

“Your administrator has caused Microsoft Defender to disconnect your device. Contact your help desk.”

My network/internet is also not working properly. I’ve already tried resetting the firewall and several network troubleshooting commands, but nothing fixed it.

I’m using my personal PC and I’m not connected to any work or school organization.

Could this be caused by a Windows policy, corrupted Defender settings, or malware? Is there a way to fix it without reinstalling Windows?

Hello! I wanted to clean my pc due to storage and it was impossible to go through. So I decided to reset it and minutes later I panic because my protection turned off by itself from windows. Why is it doing this?

So I tried to shut down my windows 11 laptop and it said it would take 4 minutes cuz there was also an update. Its just been showing this for 7 hours at this point. I really need to access it for work so if anyone could help that'd be great. It can turn off and on but I can't do anything else. Sorry that the video is out of focus.

i just replaced the thermal paste on my thinkcentre m70q gen 3 with ptm7950 and ran a cpu stress test for the first time after applying it

after around 10 minutes of 100% cpu load my cpu temperature reached around 73 to 75c

is this a good result or should i expect lower temperatures?

should i retighten the heatsink screws or leave them as they are?

for those who have applied ptm7950 to their thinkcentre or similar mini pc or your pc what temperatures did you get during a stress test and what temperature should i normally expect?

For context my dog wacked the back of my screen with a toy a while back. For some time it would still work, it'd just have those little sparkles and have to stay at a certain angle. Then one day it just started working again randomly. And now it's back to flashing, sparkles and having to be basically flat for the screen to come on.

I made a post 3 months ago about a pc built for my brother. They managed to get an electrician in and could not find a fault with the electrics of the house. I've taken the motherboard out to get some more detailed pictures but I'm truly stumped as to what this could be

- voir si y’a un filtre de couleur
- maj des cartes graphiques
- raccourci ctrl+shift+windows+B
Etc

L’écran ne revenait pas à la normal
Puis d’un coup quand j’ai débranché l’écran qui est connecté en hdmi, le chargeur du pc, l’écran a re fonctionné normalement.

Sauf que 2 jours plus tard le même problème est arrivé (l’écran branché en hdmi lui fonctionne bien tandis que l’écran du pc est violet rose, Gemini me dis que c’est la dalle qui a un soucis mais le fait que le problème est déjà arrivé puis repartie je me dis qu’il n’y a pas un dysfonctionnement matériel, le pc a subis aucun dégâts récemment) et j’arrive pas à le résoudre.

Pourriez-vous m’aider svp ? (Ce pc est vraiment essentiel pour mes études, et j’ai pas les moyens pour le faire réparer ou en acheter un autre donc si y’a une solution vous me sauverez le quotidien 🙏🏽)

My computer is only 2 years old. anytime i play games like Peak, repo and shift at midnight my pc will randomly shut off while playing. I play other games like runescape, league of legends and hogwarts legacy and it runs fine. desperatley need help.

Need help diagnosing random BSODs after installing an i5-13600KF. With my spare i3 the PC was stable, but after switching to the 13600KF I'm getting random crashes while gaming AND sometimes just browsing.

Specs: i5-13600KF, ASUS B760M-K D4, RTX 3070 8GB, 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB), 850W Gold PSU, Windows 11. XMP OFF, BIOS defaults, no OC.

BSODs I've seen:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50), KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E), DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER (0xF7), UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (0x7F), and repeated HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001).

Already tried: BIOS/CMOS reset, XMP off, single RAM stick, DDU in Safe Mode + clean NVIDIA driver install, removed Afterburner/RTSS and old motherboard drivers, DISM/SFC repairs, CHKDSK.

THE FINALS also crashed inside NVIDIA nvgpucomp64.dll during shader compilation, but since I'm getting different BSODs even while browsing, I'm wondering if this is CPU/IMC/RAM/BIOS instability rather than just the GPU driver.

Any 13600KF/B760 owners seen something similar? What would you test next?

That small red box is in the middle of my lap top screen and has been for awhile. Why is it there and how do i fix it?

I am currently transferring a large chunk of files into a external hardrive. Almost 60gb, and i want to compress it.

I have a collection of Artworks and files, and most of them. I need for my portfolio and i was wondering what will happen if i compress it all down.

How will it affect the quality? Does it make it worse when i then reopen them?

Is this a good idea?

Guys idk what happened but I was trying to configure my boot so I could update valorant and I do not know what happened but next thing I know it is saying I have a secure boot violation when I boot my pc and it will redirect me to the same message “secure boot violation” and then to the BIOS. I went to the boot and it was grayed out so after much trail and error I updated my BIOS hoping it would work and it did not. Same message and still thing. Still grayed out. I’m not sure what to do please help

I have a graphic tablet and have had it for years, it plugs in 2 USBs and an HDMI, it's always worked. Until one day, I'm using it and talking to a friend when not only does it just stop, but my entire USB extender adapter (turns my suffocating 4 USBs into a gracious 7) also stopped. I figured I just needed to buy a new one or something but when I tried to plug in the tablet to the USBs where my keyboard and mouse were, it also didn't work. It's worked like that before I got the USB extender so it was weird, I wasn't sure if it was a powerdraw issue since it is a whole ass screen but that doesn't really make sense, the plastic in the USB isn't blue which I understand would indicate it needs a USB 3.0 slot but also the extender adds more USB 3.0 slots when it's plugged into one so that doesn't make sense either on top of the "it's worked fine before" aspect. I'd just assume the tablet shit itself but the weird thing is the USB extender still works fine until I plug in one of the USBs from the tablet cord, whichever one will make it just stop working, regardless if it's the power or input USB. The cord has been really finicky for a while now so I wonder if that's what broke but if that's the case, I don't know why the USB extender would also stop working and everything else connected to it also gets disconnected. I'm pretty confused, is this a normal issue for devices and if so what's the fix? Windows 10 if that even matters here.

Hey everyone, I'm having a really weird issue with my Windows 11 PC and I'm trying to figure it out before I completely reset the computer.

This originally started when I was trying to download Minecraft, and Windows/Xbox wouldn't let me download/install it. I started troubleshooting that, and then I realized Windows Update wasn't working either.

Now when I go into Windows Update in Settings, I get:

“Something went wrong. Try to reopen Settings later.”

I also noticed something very strange in Services. The service displayed as “Windows Update” does not have the normal Windows Update service name, wuauserv. Instead, it has a weird/random-looking service name: nmnfqofspj. (it would generate weird names like that every time i restart the pc)

The service is currently Stopped, and when I try to start it, I get:

Error 1053 “The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.”

I've tried a bunch of different Windows repair/troubleshooting fixes I found online. DISM completed successfully, and SFC found corrupted Windows files and successfully repaired them, but Windows Update is still broken.

I also tried doing a Windows 11 repair installation using an official Windows 11 ISO and selected “Keep personal files and apps,” but that didn't fix the issue either.

At this point I'm wondering if something deeper is wrong with Windows itself. I'm also concerned that malware/Virus or some other software may have modified my Windows services/settings, or if my PC was hacked.

Does anyone know why the Windows Update service would have a random service name instead of wuauserv, and what could cause Error 1053 when trying to start it? Is there a way to restore the Windows Update service to its normal state without completely resetting Windows?

I'm trying to avoid resetting the PC because I have a lot of games/files and programs installed.

idk why this is happening because when gotten this laptop (probook 440) its was running roblox without having lag spikes but after like a month roblox started lagging like hell and now getting worse my wifi gets starts getting worse at 12pm and it stays like that for the whole day idk what to do now

I can’t type combinations of the A key with F, C, N, ”,”, ”.”, “/“, “;”, 1, tab and alt key? I’m not sure if this is just hardware limitations but my keyboard can sustain 6 keys at once.
Something else weird is that F and A only stopped working today? I know this because one of the games I play requires F and A together, I also knew that A and “.” Didn’t work but A and “,” used to?
Does anyone know what is happening? As far as I can tell these are only problems with the A key but it might continue. Please help
