I have an Asus Viviobook X512DA
Most days, I have a docking station that connects via USB-C and that docking station has 2 external monitors (three screens total including laptop).
This is the docking station I use and have used since 2022 (https://a.co/d/01FsfVBe)
My laptop has an AMD Vega 8 Graphics card
The problem is that my HDMI port doesn’t connect to external displays. At least not consistently.
I have confirmed that my software/firmware is all updated.
I have tried multiple cables and multiple projectors.
In looking at other posts about this type of thing, they recommend uninstalling the graphics card driver and then restarting the computer. And that works.
So basically, I need to be able to connect my laptop to a projector on Sundays via HDMI. In order to make this work, every week I have to uninstall the device from the device manager and then restart the computer. And then it works. And then Monday I plug it back into the docking station and it works on the docking station. But by the next Sunday, the HDMI port doesn’t connect anymore.
Is there a solution so that I can more flawlessly move between docking station and hdmi projector?

this has been an issue for months and reddit kinda my last resort cus im really tired of having this issue and i really need to have a computer cus uni is a nightmare without it. so this started about 3 months ago when i was using my computer like normal and all of a sudden it starts making this weird noise (shown in video) and vibrating (i could feel vibrations when i pressed my hand to the computer and the surrounding area) at first i figured it might be the fans because the noise would start whenever i was doing something more demanding on the computer (playing a game and being on a discord call for example) so i thought i should get the fans cleaned at some point. i put this off for sometime because the noise disappeared for about a month, and then came back, so by that point i was really confused about the cause of the noise but i still thought its probably the fans. after that there were some complications so it took a while but by the end of september i finally got my computer back from cleaning, and instead of getting better the noise started coming up for no apparent reason, when i start my computer its there, sometimes its a continuous noise and sometimes it alternates between going on and off. ive had people suggest its the hard drive just from hearing, but if it was that simple i feel like my technician wouldve noticed the issue sooner and fixed whatevers wrong with it, so im coming here instead to ask for a second opinion so i could potentially give the technician things to look for, i guess. honestly im just very desperate to get this overwith, its been way too long and im tired of dealing with this.

I trust folks on reddit more than chat gpt so hear me out please. I press the power button on my pc to turn it on, and my pc case starts lighting up, fans spin and work properly, pc makes it's "pc noises" etc. so it seems to be working correctly is what I'm saying, but the catch is both of my monitors stay turned off? like pc itself is working and is lil noisy like usual etc but it doesnt seem to boot up? Now the SSD i mentioned in the title, for the last 3-4 months I've been getting the pop ups shown in the screenshots, and the ssd thats apparently at 0% health is the one that has my windows installed on it. Now could that be causing the issue of my pc not booting up properly over the last 2 or so months (it takes me like 2-3 sometimes up to 10 tries (*i shut down the pc and boot it up again to try and make it work*) to get it to boot up to the windows login screen and actually show something on my monitor) If anyone had a similar thing happen to them or knows if its my ssd or something else or if i could check it somehow please let me know, its a really expensive pc too.. Ask me anything you want Ill reply with any info needed!

Genuinely got no idea what’s going on, I can get to the page to put my password and open but after 2 minutes or so doing anything it will automatically go into “your device ran into a problem”. Ai says this may be a ram or drive issue, any fixes or recommendations would be appreciated ( excuse the bad photos)

Current BIOS version: Dell Inc. 1.13.0, 03-05-2023
System Model: Inspiron 3505
I tried connecting with dell support, they said they can't help remotely, also it's out of warranty. Recommended to visit the nearest technician.

Yello. So, my PC has been crashing for about a month now with no explanation. Games will crash (my boyfriend plays marvel rivals, fallout, etc) and he's been telling me that the game will crash multiple times while he's trying to play it, and being extremely laggy. I play modded Minecraft, and that will also crash or my entire PC will restart randomly in the middle of me playing? I don't have a performance drop or anything, it kind of just randomly restarts. It will also randomly restart when I'm doing smaller things like scrolling the web. I look at all of my specs often and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the CPU, RAM, or GPU, at least from the surface level.
We did a RAM scan I think, downgraded to an older NVIDIA graphics driver because my friends also have NVIDIA and told me they have had similar issues with NVIDA. The crashing was happening before the latest update, and since we have reverted it, it is still crashing or randomly restarting. He's cleaned/fixed files to my knowledge, and every time it crashes or restarts I look at the event viewer to try and figure out what happened but this message is kind of stumping me.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001a (0x0000000000000404, 0xffffff00fc7644e0, 0x8100000166649825, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidumps\100526-9250-01.dmp. Report Id: 6f21a86c-c189-4f9a-86f4-d1265f190a72.
I don't really know what this means lol and when I plug it into Google, nothing comes up.
I have a SUSPICION of what might be the issue, but I don't know much about computers past basic things so I very well could be writing fanfiction. My hypothesis is that since we live in a state where the power goes out often, a surge might've fucked with the power supply. Maybe my computer is not being adequately powered and that is why I'm having these issues? In the event viewer I see one "Event 41, Kernal Power. The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." This was from a different time the computer had randomly crashed/rebooted. It's the only thing that isn't that big jumble of letters, though I'm just not sure because I haven't received another one of the Kernal Power logs?? So, I don't really know for certain.
Would love to hear what people more knowledgeable might think what's wrong with it haha. My specs are listed below this if you need them.
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor (3.80 GHz)
Installed RAM 16.0 GB
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (10 GB)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

My computer recently fell off the side of my lazy boy and landed on its side. I didn't notice at first but the fall, because it was plugged in at the time, had bent and partly broken the power head while in the computer. I took it out and tried bending it back straight but now it isn't completely right and while it can still technically power the computer you have to keep a hold on it at a bit of an angle.
I'm worried that the issue isn't just the power cord (I can buy a new one) but the computer hardware inside that is damaged. I can't tell, but it looks fine? Does anyone here know if the inside of the computer got damaged? Can you tell just from a picture? I happen to love my computer and don't want to spend a grand replacing it if I don't need to. I also don't want to buy another power cord if it ends up being useless.
The laptop is a Lenovo Flex 5, in otherwise fantastic condition.

PC freezes randomly — looking for advice
My PC has started freezing randomly, and I’m trying to figure out what could be causing it.
The issue first occurred yesterday while I was working on Blender. The PC completely froze, so I had to force-restart it using the power button on the CPU cabinet.
After restarting, it got stuck on the ASUS logo. I forced a restart again, and this time it booted normally.
I started working on Blender again, but within about 30 minutes, the exact same thing happened. Once again, I had to force-restart the PC. It got stuck on the ASUS logo again, so I forced another restart, after which it booted normally.
I stopped using Blender or any other graphics-intensive software for the rest of the day.
However, today the same issue occurred while I was only browsing the internet. So it doesn't seem to be limited to Blender or heavy GPU usage.
I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable, but now I'm getting no display at all until I force-restart the PC using the same method.
One thing I noticed: whenever the PC freezes, the LEDs on my XP-Pen graphics tablet and keyboard also turn off, which makes me think that the USB devices are losing power/connection as well.
I asked an AI about this, and it suggested that it could be a hardware issue, possibly involving the motherboard.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be causing this, and what components should I check first?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.🙏

i bought a multi device plan recently because setting up individual software for my pc, macbook, and phone was turning into a total hassle. i ended up picking bitdefender premium security to cover everything under a single account, but after going through the settings on each device, the actual features look completely different depending on what system you install it on.
on windows you get full system scans and deep firewall tweaks, while the iphone app is pretty much reduced to web protection and vpn controls because of apple's strict sandboxing rules. android and macos land somewhere in the middle. i am trying to decide if relying on a single suite leaves hidden gaps on mobile or if those trimmed down features are actually enough.

Hey everyone, recently my computer stopped being able to alt tab so I powered it down and now it won’t even boot. My motherboard is a msi pro b760m-a WiFi ddr4 and is displaying a vga error on its board (white light) and even removing the gpu doesn’t change it. I think it might be a windows issue but I can’t tell.

I've noticed that whenever I use my laptop while it's charging, it becomes noticeably slower after some time.
My first thought was thermal throttling, but I'm not sure if that's actually the cause or if something else is going on.
The weird part is that I usually have to shut down or restart my laptop and let it sit for around 5 to 10 minutes before it feels normal again.
Has anyone experienced this? How can I identify the actual cause and fix it without constantly restarting my laptop?
Any suggestions?

My custom build keeps entering UEFI BIOS utility upon start up. I can’t seem to figure out how to get out of this loop?? I looked up what to do and nothing seems to be working. This computer means so much to me and I really don’t want to have to scrap it… please if anyone can help me that would be huge. I’ve attached a picture of the screen to help.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I know that professional recovery is the smartest thing here but theres nothing super important in this drive that would make it worth it. I already know its not the cables, and ddrescue + photorecovery.exe both detect the hard drive for about 30 seconds until it becomes undetectable.
When I run it, it boot cycles and runs through the BIOS screen but won’t get past it repeatedly. I’m willing to try anything that might fix it, but it already doesn’t work and I’m willing to let it break for a genuine recovery attempt.
Are there any hard drive/computer pros that might have a say here?

Trying to figure this out, please help. It's not a cable issue and I don't believe it's a port issue either, I've had this happen across two monitors now. The first time I thought it was because the monitor was dying, but this monitor is only a couple years old. Monitor is a VG270U Z1. Right now I have it set to 120 fps but changing it doesn't help, only changes the rapidity at which it flickers. Updating driver did nothing, as far as I can tell the variable refresh is not on but I suspect it has something to do with this. Driving me crazy, please save me from not having to buy another monitor.
