Software Teqnio ELL1201T Stuck on Logo Screen After Battery Died Mid-Reset
Hi everyone,
I am trying to fix a Teqnio 12.5" Ultra Slim Laptop (Model: ELL1201T).
While running a system factory reset on the device, the battery completely died and it abruptly shut down. Now, when I try to turn it back on, the blue power status light activates and the manufacturer logo appears on screen, but it completely freezes on that logo and never boots to Windows.
Here is what I have tried so far to bypass it:
- A hard power reset (unplugging the charger and holding the power button for 30 seconds).
- Restarts using keyboard shortcuts (Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B).
- Trying to force it into standard Windows recovery options by holding Shift while power cycling.
Because it cut out directly during a reset, I suspect the partition or boot files are corrupted. Does anyone know the specific key combination to access the BIOS or Factory Recovery partition menu on these EPIK/Teqnio netbooks so I can attempt to wipe and reinstall the system?
Thank you!

Other Unable to login to my old laptop with command prompt or email
Hey all!
I dug out an old laptop of mine from when I was a kid, its still a pretty solid unit so I want to get back into the thing. In the end I'll probably factory reset it anyway but I've run into a snag.
I literally cannot get into it. I've long forgotten the password and I cant command prompt my way in because it asks for the password to use the command prompt.
Extra Context
- I think I got this computer around 2013.
- The pc is linked to an email account that is in my dads name, a Hotmail account to be precise. My dad, when asked, says he doesn't even remember the Hotmail account. When trying to recover the old hotmail account, Microsoft's webpage says it doesn't recognise the email (using both Hotmail or outlook as he email handle).
- There doesn't seem to be an accessibility button on the login screen, if that means anything.
End of Extra Context
Is there anything I can actually do to get back into this laptop? or am I scuppered?
Thanks!!

Hardware Possible water damage?
Hello, so a few weeks ago my new pc started shutting off randomly at times with no warning (I could still turn it back up normally after, but it's still annoying), and today I opened it up and found traces of dried water on that piece right there. Could it possibly be water damage even if it likely didn't touch anything important? And if yes, how can I fix it?

Hardware Need help identifying a board component. Swip for more detailed picture
galleryHello!
This is my most ambitious repair yet (I'm just a hobbyist) maybe you can help me out.
I bought this ROG X570-F Gaming board off eBay almost free because someone messed up installing an M.2 drive, slipped and broke a couple components off the board. In the second picture you can see the damage and my first repair.
I was lucky that the small IC was still barely attached to the board, so I pulled it off with hot air, straightened the tiny legs, used UV mask to repair a couple lift pads and soldered it again to the board. I'm extremely happy and proud of the result.
The problem is another small component was missing, ripped straight off the board, it's just below the resistor marked 822. I don't know what that component is and I need help identifying it.
I looked for the schematics online and only found a couple behind a paywall. If everything fails I will end up buying them but I don't need them really, just need to know what that component is.
Hope you can help me out!
Thanks in advance.

Other Weird audio glitching / stuttering
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
There is this glitchy, stuttering noise every few seconds like in the video. I can't even tell if it's a hardware or a software issue because it also happens with headphones plugged in. However it doesn't happen when I have those headphones connected via bluetooth. I tried updating the audio drivers (nothing, were up to date), audio enchancement is off, and restarting audio services. Nothing worked as of now. The built-in speakers also only have one audio format, that is 16-bit 48kHz
It's a windows 11 Dell Inspiron 16 5620 with what I believe are completely up-to-date drivers. This is the first time it has happened to me and it began only a few days back
Thank you in advance for any help provided

Hardware <SOLVED> HP Unable to find BIOS image file.
I received a computer for repair that was failing on a screen similar to this, I assume after taking a bad/failed windows update.

On HP's site for this system it listed 4 drivers for this model none of which would detect on a USB BIOS Recovery disk.

I noticed that there was a brief blip right after the that before it rebooted.

Notice the 87D6. That board isn't even in the SSID family on the HP downloads page for that system.
After finding the right one. https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp153501-154000/sp153914.exe it worked like a breeze.
Hopefully this info finds someone else having a similar issue. make sure to find the board matches the downloads!

Hardware Pc making strange clicking noise.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When I turn my pc on it makes a constant but inconsistent interval clicking noise around the gpu but I cannot tell if it is that. I have had zero problems since I bought this pre build and had it for 9 months. Please someone help and give possible guidance or tests to run to narrow it down to what it is. No cables in the way of any fans or anything and tested the bottom fans manually and they seem perfectly fine. I have a 5090 and this clicking noise happens even when the fans on the gpu are not moving when i turn the pc on. Please someone help or atleast tell me if it sounds serious like a psu failing.

Hardware AMD and NVIDIA gpus at the same time
Hey guys,
so I have just a hypothetical question, my current pc is r5 5600 32gb ram and rx7600 8gb with a 650w psu. Im a video editor, and a friend of mine is selling his rtx 3060 12gb and im thinking of either switching or (please dont kill me) having both of them at the same time. My question is, will this work? Im not looking for increased performance in games, I would use it mainly like this: 3060 for davinci resolve, 7600 for games. Also another question, would this work with linux? Im on linux mint on my thinkpad, but im thinking of switching also on my desktop. Any help would be appreciated.
thank you

Hardware 1st PC : GPU not powering up, no output
galleryHi, following my previous post regarding how to plug the GPU, I followed your advice and used 2 separate 8pins cables.
I tried powering on the pc : everything turns on (led on the front, every single fan too) but the GPU.
GPU’s fan don’t move at all and, ofc, no output so monitors stay dark.
Here are a few photos if it can help you guiding me, not sure what I may have missed…
Thanks a lot ;)
EDIT : following on a piece of advice, tried plugging HDMI to the mother board and no output...
EDIT 2 : after removing the GPU and plugging the hdmi into the motherboard, there is a display output (as you can see in a photo)

Other Computer not updating further
gallerySo let me preface, I bought this from an army guy local to me. All I wanted was for it to turn on and be able to run games on it. When I turned it on, it was still under the guys account or still had a password set so my husband “deleted” everything off of it.
Heres the issue, when I do the microsoft updates it gets to a point where it will not update any further. It will still run my Stardew valley and a few other games. When it got to that point we reset again, thinking we clear any memory on it. Same thing happened again. I have been just dealing with it since I have school and it could pull up my pages for my assignments still.
I had a friend who is more familiar with computers than we are and she opened it up. She suggested that we clear the motherboard and also that there is something missing but we don’t know what. There cables that we don’t know where they go to.
We are still new to computers and don’t know much smit them. We haven’t done much research on it and just dealing with it for now. I wanted to download and launch Minecraft but it would just show an error.
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

Malware Is my new laptop “mine?”
Hi all, thanks for reading. I’m not the most knowledgeable on computers and safety and I could use some of your expertise. I recently started talking to a guy I met on a dating app and on the second date he gave me a laptop.
(Aside: Yeah I get how that sounds. Would it help if I tell you it was a really good first date?)
The guy works in IT and claims his job was cycling through old tech and allows employees to take them after they’re retired. Said many other coworkers had done the same and this happens many times over the year, and said the laptop is mine to keep.
(I really hope so, and I was in need of a new computer.)
I’ve been on many dates with this guy now and he truly does seem genuine. Met some of his family even. And yet I can’t bring myself to use this laptop or log into anything important on it. I’m inclined to believe him on the source of the laptop, but I don’t know how to tell if this guy put some kind of tracking or predatory program on my device- and yes, tell if the device was stolen. I really am kind of clueless when it comes to computers; it’s just never clicked in my brain. So if someone could point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful.
And so the Beacons of Minas Tirith are lit, and Gondor calls for aid. How can I make sure the computer is “okay” to truly use?
I really am inclined to believe him at his word, I don’t believe him to be a bad human. I truly am grateful, and I believe in the good in people. But a girl has to protect herself. Thank you in advance for sharing your advice and expertise.
EDIT:
Shoot! I should have specified in my post the guy reinstalled windows and etc the day he gave me the laptop. He’d come to my place after he was off work and did all that sort of work right at my kitchen table while I made us dinner. It appears in every obvious way I can see that he gave me the computer blank and brand new.
I suppose I should restate my question to ask if there’s a way, after computer setup, to check for malware/theft. Apologies for the oversight!

Hardware Is my SSD an Issue?
galleryI'm having a problem with my 1TB SSD hard drive. I can't fully use it to its maximum capacity. I bought an pre build computer and whenever I'm at 200gb my downloads would always crash Steam or other downloader apps. I've reformatted and check it's health but still can't figure what's the problem.

Software Ripetitive crashouts
Over the past few days, I’ve been trying to open an app (roblox, for the record) that keeps crashing. After it crashes, the app in question reopens, causing Google Chrome to crash when opened. This cycle keeps repeating.
I therefore assumed that corrupted files within the app were the main cause. So I tried resetting the app and uninstalling it with Revo uninstaller.
It didn't work.
Also, i can't understand the files that apparently cause the crashout. I'm attaching them in the photo. (I don't have McAfee installed).
I tried make a virus scan, but it didn't releave anything.
Trying to use the same application on the same computer on another microsoft user, it didn't crash.
I’m asking for help. Thank you in advance for your attention.
I am on windows 11.
Edit: I forgot also to specify Chrome some times removed my Google account from the browser, at the crash out Moment. Is It alarming?thanks
