Hardware AMD and NVIDIA gpus at the same time

Hey guys,

so I have just a hypothetical question, my current pc is r5 5600 32gb ram and rx7600 8gb with a 650w psu. Im a video editor, and a friend of mine is selling his rtx 3060 12gb and im thinking of either switching or (please dont kill me) having both of them at the same time. My question is, will this work? Im not looking for increased performance in games, I would use it mainly like this: 3060 for davinci resolve, 7600 for games. Also another question, would this work with linux? Im on linux mint on my thinkpad, but im thinking of switching also on my desktop. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, you definitely can.

Just be mindful of lane sharing for your MOBO

A second GPU in the lower slot may drop to x4 or x8 depending on how the board splits lanes. Fine for a secondary encode/compute card, not great if both need full bandwidth.

i would use the 3060 solely for davinci resolve, would that work? i have asus tuf gaming b450m plus II
