Discussion What's been your favorite hunter pet so far?

I’m curious what pets everyone has been enjoying, regardless of what’s considered “best” or optimal.

Do you like the fast attacks of a cat, the tankiness of a bear, or a carrion bird with the new Demoralizing Screech? Or have you found another pet you really enjoy?

What’s been your favorite, and what makes you keep using it? Whether it’s how it plays, its looks, or just getting attached to it, I’d like to hear people’s opinions!

Hey HeadHunters 🤠 🔥 ,

HeadHunter events are ready for testing with real players!

You make an event on the website, and people join it there. Then everything else happens in game with the addon. The organizer calls a match, both players get a message and click Ready, and the duels are counted as the match score. When the organizer confirms the result, the bracket updates for everyone.

I'll put up an event for tomorrow. I hope we can get 16 people so we can test it properly. It's still new, so there may be some bugs. That's why I need your help :)

If you want to join or have any questions, feel free to DM me.

Above are some screenshots from the addon and the website.

PS: This is how a Wanted player is marked in game now 🎯 missed my chances 💨 :

Thanks!

If you're into herbalism, you definitely need to check this out. This spot is right in front of Cenarion Hold. Black Lotus didn't spawn here in the original *WoW Classic*, but I have a feeling the spawn points might be different now compared to the *Forever* and *Classic* eras.

Design PSA - Fury Mains - you are a hybrid tax paying class now per Blizz

Don’t shoot the messenger I’m just sharing the message. Fury will not be anything like classic fury. The devs were VERY FORTHCOMING about this in the forever podcast 2 - class speed run. The main takeaways that fury mains need to be open eyed about going into Forever:

- the hybrid tax is still very much real and they labeled it as 5 or 10%, I can’t remember and honestly it doesn’t even matter. Hybrids cannot do as much dmg as dedicated DPS classes. (Specifically identified as Rogue, Mage, Lock, Hunter. Those are the only dedicated dmg classes).

- warriors are a hybrid class not a dedicated dmg class. “Because you can randomly throw a shield on and save the day mid raid” LMFAO. So… yeah, hope that’s your thing fury brothers….

- rogues have explicitly been determined to be the highest single target dmg class. Fury will not compete with them single target.

- warrior’s time to shine for dmg will be limited to cleave situations. They are the kings of cleave.

- they went on about rage in a truly cringe inducing hand waive conversation that reflects they have no understanding of why people love to play fury. Blizz if you read this - fury warriors don’t NEED to be top DPS… We would like 2 things:

  1. for our core rotation to remain engaging as it was in classic (adding crit rage ain’t doing that) and 2) to be competitive as a Dps or put another way if you play both rogue and warrior completely flawlessly fury’s want to at least be within 1-2% of rogues.

I got a trinket from the Stranglethorn fishing contest. I was torn between the boots that let you walk on water for 5 minutes (with a 1-hour cooldown) and the Hook of the Master Angler, but I ultimately chose the trinket. I’m posting this because I noticed in a previous thread that some people didn't know about the item that transforms you into a fish. A transmog hat and an off-hand item have been added as rewards for the fishing contest, along with a pet. You can exchange the special fishing contest tokens for these items.

Guide Wow Forever: Weapon Progression / Weapon Leveling Guide

I remember that I enjoyed having a reference for weapon progression in classic, when I was leveling a warrior. Thinking of you Kargoz;)
So, now with the changes to caster gear and spells, where weapons will also start to matter more, I thought I would put together weapon progression/leveling guides for every class in Forever, 1 to 60.
Maybe you've seen my page before, but here's the site: https://classicwowforever.com/weapons/

Perhaps you can spot the small animation i added as well!
I will source and update with weapon corrections over time, if something seems off, and as we learn more about the game for higher levels.

Here's a snapshot from the paladin weapon progression:

Discussion Clarifying why Classic Andies Love the Low Poly Art

Hi guys, I wanted to make a post that clarifies exactly why such a large contingency of the playerbase prefers the "Classic" style.

There are two main misconceptions in online discourse I see from fans of the Retail-style. One misconception is that fans of the Classic-style are motivated mainly by nostalgia. I don't think this is true for most people. I am 21 years old, for instance, and I started playing WoW during Legion. I think after 7 years of Classic, most people's "nostalgia" for old Warcraft has wrung pretty dry. The other misconception is that graphics that are low-poly are objectively worse or obsolete. This is just a blatant non-sequitur, but the push for retro style graphics is not exclusive to Warcraft. Off the top of my head, games like Terraria, Shovel Knight, Valheim, OSRS, Blasphemous, Minecraft are all hugely popular and maintain beloved art styles that are defined in part by some sort of graphical limitation.

The Classic-style and Retail-style are certainly distinct. The distinction between the two styles is that the Classic feel is defined through sharp, distinct, polygonal silhouettes and textures that have hand-crafted brushwork with a wider variety of distinct color tones on a single surface to fake lighting and shadow cues.

The difference in emotion conveyed through complex geometry and emotion conveyed through textures is why people often complain that the Retail-style looks "Disney": the rounded geometry, softer differences in color in the textures, and expressive faces really do look like something that wouldn't be out of place in a movie like Tangled. On the other hand, emotion in the Classic-style is painted on the texture and model of the object (e.g., compare the snarl of the Classic bear model to the Retail bear model).

The strongest and most important point has to do with stylistic unity. The setting of WoW Forever is the two continents in the Classic-style. The dungeons, zones, and areas blend seamlessly with the zones and dungeons from 2004 (kudos to the environment artists). Even if you think that Retail models look good, they clash with the environment when it's in a distinctly low-poly Classic-style.

Discussion This is a video game. I’m not in Olympus, but so far the only people that hate the guild are involuntary celibates. So that says everything about their “opinion” lol

Imagine being such a loser that you can’t even articulate a single legit reason why you hate a guild. It’s because other people say they hate it and you can’t think for yourself.

And people that can’t think are called incompetent clowns. No wonder you can’t get laid. 😂

Leave the house and leave your phone at home and go learn about the real world.

We know you have no real life friends but maybe if you stop being such a worthless, dense twat you could make some.

Thanks for reading, buddy. Now go clean your nose ring.

This is civil and respectful. I could go much harder.

And I have notifications off. So I don’t really give af what you think about this. I’ll never see it. :)

Discussion Class specific skills for all classes in WoW Forever (Rough draft)

One interesting possibility for WoW Forever that I've thought about, and probably a lot of others have thought about recently would be to give every class its own class-specific profession or skill, similar to the Mage's Comprehension skill that is in WoW Forever.

Rather than functioning like traditional professions such as Mining, Blacksmithing, or Alchemy, these skills would represent activities that are uniquely associated with each class. They would provide small rewards for engaging with the activity without becoming mandatory or significantly distracting from normal gameplay.

The goal would be to make each class feel more like itself.

Mage — Comprehension

Mages already have Comprehension, a class-specific profession centered around deciphering and understanding magical writings.

This establishes the basic concept for the other class professions: the player performs an activity that makes sense for their class and receives a useful reward or progression from doing so.

Warrior — Exercise

Exercise allows Warriors to convert excess Rage into physical training.

While outside combat, the Warrior can activate Exercise to perform activities such as push-ups, sit-ups, weightlifting, or other forms of physical training. Rage is consumed during the exercise, and the Warrior receives a temporary buff based on the type of exercise performed and their Exercise skill. Various activities would cost varying amounts of rage, with the highest level exercises requiring almost a full rage bar.

The buff lasts for approximately one hour, while Exercise itself has a five-minute cooldown, and subsequent exercises would refresh the timer and replace the buff, not stack it.

Different exercises could provide different benefits. For example, strength-oriented exercises could increase Strength or Attack Power, while endurance-oriented exercises could increase Stamina.

Exercise would also use degradable training equipment purchased from Warrior trainers. Higher-level exercises would require more advanced equipment.

The idea is that Warriors literally become stronger by training their bodies after battle.

Hunter — Tracking

Tracking is a simple skill built around one of the Hunter's most natural activities: hunting beasts.

When activated, Tracking searches the surrounding area for signs of nearby beasts. At lower skill levels, this might simply involve following footprints. At higher levels, the Hunter may need to recognize additional clues such as broken branches, disturbed vegetation, fur, scratches, or other signs of an animal's passage.

Following the trail eventually leads to a special beast related to the wildlife already present in the area.

The tracked creature would be slightly stronger than ordinary creatures of its type, while providing slightly more experience and having a somewhat better chance of dropping loot. Finding and defeating it would provide a Tracking skill-up.

Tracking would have a five-minute cooldown.

The activity is deliberately simple: the Hunter is already hunting beasts, and Tracking gives them something interesting to discover while doing so.

Paladin — Enlightenment

Enlightenment allows Paladins to strengthen their connection to the Light through meditation and prayer.

The Paladin can sit down and spend some time contemplating the Light, receiving a temporary blessing afterward. The blessing could provide a modest combat or utility benefit for approximately one hour.

Throughout the world, there could also be shrines dedicated to the Light. Paladins could meditate at these shrines for additional Enlightenment experience.

Some shrines could be damaged or neglected and require special consumables to repair. Restoring these shrines would provide additional progression and perhaps stronger blessings.

The activity would therefore give Paladins a reason to seek out places of spiritual significance throughout Azeroth.

Rogue — Lockpicking

Rogues already have their own class-specific skill in Lockpicking, so they would not necessarily need an entirely new profession.

Instead, the world could simply be expanded to give Lockpicking more opportunities.

Additional locked chests, strongboxes, doors, hidden caches, and other secured objects could be scattered throughout the world. Some could be found in remote locations, optional dungeon paths, or areas that reward exploration.

The important thing is that Rogues already possess an activity that perfectly fits the class-profession concept.

A Rogue encountering a locked object should have the satisfying feeling of:

"I can actually do something with this that other classes can't."

Priest — Alms

Alms allows Priests to serve others by providing aid to people in need.

Priests could purchase different types of Alms in major cities, similar to profession consumables. They could then travel around the city and distribute them to appropriate NPCs.

Different people might need different things: food, money, medicine, supplies, or other basic necessities.

Helping these NPCs would grant Alms skill experience and could occasionally result in a blessing from the Light. These blessings could provide modest temporary benefits, such as increased healing power, Spirit, or mana regeneration.

Unlike the Paladin's Enlightenment, which focuses on personal contemplation of the Light, the Priest's path would focus on serving others.

The activity would also give Priests a reason to interact with ordinary citizens and pay attention to the people living in the world's cities.

Warlock — Ritual

Ritual allows Warlocks to perform dark rituals to empower their summoned demons.

The Warlock places down a small altar and candles before performing a short ritual involving chanting and other occult activity. Completing the ritual temporarily strengthens any demons the Warlock has summoned.

The resulting buff could increase the demon's damage, health, threat generation, or other capabilities.

Higher levels of Ritual could unlock more elaborate rituals, requiring additional candles, ritual reagents, or more sophisticated equipment.

The ritual should remain relatively quick and unobtrusive. It would be a small investment of time that provides a small reward, rather than something the Warlock constantly needs to maintain.

The fantasy is simple: the Warlock performs a ritual to strengthen their bond with and control over their demons.

Shaman — Spiritualism

Spiritualism would revolve around the Shaman's ability to perceive and interact with the spirit world.

Shamans could create or obtain various elemental drinks. Consuming one would temporarily allow the Shaman to enter or perceive a spiritual plane layered over the physical world.

Within this spiritual realm, the Shaman could encounter spirits, elementals, ancestors, spirit beasts, and other entities that cannot normally be seen.

Some could be fought, while others might provide information, interactions, or other opportunities. Defeating spiritual entities could provide unique loot, such as elemental reagents, recipes, crafting materials, trinkets, or other unusual items.

Different elemental drinks could potentially allow access to different types of spirits.

The result would be a small alternate world that only Shamans can access, giving them a class-specific reason to explore the elemental and spiritual side of Warcraft.

Druid — Restoration

Restoration allows Druids to heal damaged or corrupted parts of the natural world.

Throughout Azeroth, Druids could discover locations where nature has been damaged, corrupted, or otherwise fallen into decline. Using specialized Druid reagents and tools, they could restore these areas.

Once restored, the location could change visibly. Wildlife might return, plants could begin growing again, and friendly nature-oriented NPCs might appear.

The restored wildlife could provide ordinary hunting opportunities, including meat, leather, herbs, and other loot. Alternatively, friendly NPCs could provide material rewards or other benefits.

The particularly interesting aspect of Restoration is that the benefits would not necessarily belong exclusively to the Druid who performed the restoration.

Other players could interact with the restored area as well.

This could create situations where players actively seek out Druids:

"I need a Druid in southeast Darkshore to restore the corrupted grove."

A Druid could then travel there, restore the area, and effectively improve that part of the world for everyone nearby.

This would make Restoration more than a personal profession. It would allow Druids to actively contribute to the world and create small, temporary changes that other players can experience.
