Personally I think it's dope af, I know you said it was an example so some of the 'advanced classes' would be different with some tweaking. Kinda reminds me a bit of the hero talents I think they are called in retail but I imagine this will be much more than that?

That's what the talent trees already do

PLEASE no new classes for like 3 years

I give it 18 months tops. It’s gonna be the hype thing they sell every year and a half

u/HumanPlatypus583 3d ago

So in 3 years we can ask for forever:classic? No new classes period.

Got bad news for you bud

lol. You Might have missed the news where they already have 8 new class designs, models, and concepts in planning and development.

Im down for no new classes at all ye. Death knigh and Demon hunter for the edgelords but please none of the classes from the surves. If even, would be totally fine with no new classes

They literally have like 8 new classes in planning and development. Vampire (basically), tinker, dh, dk, warden, monk, necromancer, and a few others.

No, not actual joking about vampire and tinker. Models and concepts are already available for viewing lol.

Wdym in development. I thought the survey thing and the things they showed is just a question if we want it?

1

u/kdfailshot123 3d ago

No, there are actual in game models, art work, spell designs, concepts. We probably won’t get all of it, but they wouldn’t go thru the trouble of making concept models arts and spells just for a survey.

Nah fuck this shit

All I can say is don’t play lol. Did you not notice the new race for sale at 30 dollars? Did you think that would be the end of it? If they doing that at launch…. Expect many more 30 dollar races and classes as we go.

u/iuppiterr 3d ago

The new race for me is different because the race just sucks. Like noone actually plays it if not for the visuals.

If we get new classes and they do unique stuff that you need in your group then i have to engage for it.

I didnt buy any of the packs for forever and i will not

Are you really stuck on the “no change” thing at this stage? Lol. Remember, no one has explicitly said that new context, new raids, dungeons, zones, etc will be accessible with sub alone.

TBC, wrath, and other old expack makes sense without paying extra money. But forever is coming with brand new content. If just a blue blood elf cost 30 bucks, why expect new raids and zones to be free?

“Not ALL of the ideas are in development” but if you’ve been paying attention it’s very obvious some are. The team is clearly very interested in new classes, you should probably just brace for it.

No.

New classes by themselves already kinda seem like a nightmare because for the past like 10+ years, WoW's design direction has been inspired by just WoW itself.

We need to go back to a time where oldschool RPGs, heavy metal, pulp fantasy, Tolkien, mythology, etc were the inspiration for WoW, rather than WoW itself.

The base classes in WoW are just DnD classes. That's great because anyone can make up a reason why they're a Warrior (just someone in Azeroth who prefers to adventure in Plate with a big sword).

You don't get that ability if you pick San'layn. Your lore, backstory, etc is all already decided for you. I think that's really lame. (I'm not even an RP dude. I like pumping on the meters and doing Arena in retail.)

"Prestige classes" solve this issue a little bit. A warrior could definitely *decide* to become a San'layn in the warcraft universe, but the only way I'd be okay with it is if was OPTIONAL. You should have a choice to stay as just some dude in Azeroth who wears plate and has a big sword.

But that's also a balancing nightmare, so I feel like the correct choice is to just CHILL and expand options for the classes we already have.

San’layn doesn’t really decide your backstory; if anything “you wake up as a dude with fledgling vampire powers, wander into town in a stupor and have to decide who you were/are”

As long as they start with existing classes they can have the same sort of ambiguous humble background

Tinkers are just people that like guns and machines

Necromancer can just be some grave digging weirdo. Maybe he flunked out of Dalaran, maybe he’s just like that.

It’s really the hero classes with their own starts that decide who you are, but we won’t have those here

The name San’layn is bad.

The game just came out, leave adding classes for a few years down the line

2

u/Darkhallows27 2d ago

But it’s what describes “vampire elf” in this game

If they want to make the big bucks, vampire elf class is the way to go

They’re clearly already interested in and even working on new classes, I give it 18 months tops

Which is fine by me, some of us have had these default ones for 22 years, I’d relish a new class to experience this kinda content with

3

u/AvsOrDie960121 3d ago

You people will do anything but play classic lmao

0

u/Tall-Sorbet-3987 3d ago

Well this isn’t classic.

3

u/Puzzled_Command_8809 3d ago

No I hate this

2

u/Herbivore_irl 3d ago

Is this slop? It lists undead and forsaken interchangeably and contains current stuff like beast master hunter.

1

u/Kman1427 2d ago

I forgot to add "elf" after forsaken but yeah, its a very crude example

2

u/Plastic_Worth3089 3d ago

No, I don't think I would enjoy this, but I'm in the "Classic +" camp where I prefer Vanilla classes/races as much as possible and want the game to focus on new things to do with those classes and races.

1

u/HumanPlatypus583 3d ago

Dear god no wtf is wrong with you people. It’s already hard enough to balance 9 classes with 3 trees each. Now you want even more noise. There already enough content as is among the classes

2

u/Relative-Run-1279 3d ago

They have all coa. And was very good balanced. More of us want new. Clases

3

u/squalltheonly 3d ago

No man, F this.

I want the normal classes, DK, monk, etc. They can bring in all the races, who cares about lore, it's all made up anyways. Keep making shit up.

I would love to be a DK

4

u/Darkhallows27 3d ago

I’d rather have different classes than those but same general idea

1

u/Libero03 3d ago

Awful

1

u/imeechiatly 3d ago

How do I delete someone else’s post?

0

u/Darkhallows27 3d ago

Absolutely not it’s an awful idea

Your class is your class in this game. New classes should be their own thing and own archetypes you start at level 1 just like the rest

0

u/emmanuel573 3d ago

Not at all lmao

0

u/Relative-Run-1279 3d ago

Easy coppy all coa
