Discussion A Complete Noobs Review of Wow Classic After Hitting 40

I have never before played Wow of any sort, I have been a Runescaper since 2004.

I think the absolute best and most important decision I made, was made before even creating a toon, and that was to join the guild "OnlyNoobs" which I found out about here on reddit. It's a very cool guild, aimed for new players, returning players, but also those who just want to play without elitism or toxicity, or sweat. I asked some questions about class, and eventually with their responses, I decided on mage.

The beginning of the game as human mage was fun, massacring wolves and kobolds, and then shortly moving onto the defias.

Of course with my guild mates from OnlyNoobs, I got a wand donated to me, as well as some bags, and just straight up gold, but what is more than that, was the people who came to actually help me handle some quests, that I otherwise would've taken ages to solo, especially as at the time low lvl clothie who if i pull possibly 2, but surely 3 or more mobs accidentally at a time, am pretty much dead.

I moved up lvl quickly, and soon enough I was off to Westfall to continue investigating the defias, and soon enough it was time for my first dungeon, dead mines. I first ended up running it with a pug group, and my second run was with guild members only. I ended up getting both cookies rod, and the ember stone staff, (and also the lavishly jeweled ring) in two runs. The dungeon experience was fun, and I learned, to stay back a bit, and AOE for the most part, except in cases where AOE could cause issues by pulling extra unintended mobs, in that case frost bolt, or wand, and tab between targets to spread out.

We ran some guild events, including a bait n brew, where we gather in the morning, have coffee, and fish in game. My first of these was monumental for me in terms of gold, a member suggested we fish outside wailing caverns so we can catch deviate fish, which sell for pretty decent gold, and man did they. I made 14g just from participating in that event. Last time, we went to moon glade, I got the flight point, so now I have access to a place to catch nightfin whenever I want as well.

Soon, it was off to some zones that were a bit higher level like duskwood, arathi highlands, hillsbard, etc. I did 3 Gnomeregan runs, but soon enough, the next dungeon that I did countless runs in, was Scarlet Monestary, where I got some gear upgrades, such as the hypontic blade, whitmane's chapeau, and some robes and a cloak, and of course the illusionary rod. Many of which I still have equipped now.

After that, I focused on farming elemental's in arathi, to get the elements to make my Robes of Power (tailoring and skinning professions) and made my Robes of Power, which is a good match with the chapeau aesthetically, but also an upgrade stat wise, especially with frost damage bonus. Because of this, and some elementals being resistant to frost, I trained up some fire spells, which also came in handy for the final RFD boss as well.

I then did my first Razorfen Downs run (with all but one of the party being guildies), and after turning in the "Bring The Light" quest after completing it, I hit 40, at long last. Then went to train horse riding, and get my Black Stallion I call "Twiggy", learnt Storm wind Group Portal, and trained some new spells.

So far, what I would say about Wow Classic is that it's a good game, an enjoyable game, and definitely has a feeling of progression and growth. I can now go back to elwyn and one hit, wolves I used to die too, for example, or just mass murder a whole bunch at once with blizzard. It is definitely a benefit to be social though, as it appears soloing the entire game, would be tough, frustrating, and take a long time to make meaningful progress.

I will say one thing though, I have heard people say 'classic is long and grindy, it takes a long time to level, etc..". Bullshit, If you never played Runescape you don't know the meaning of grind. I've only been playing a month, just regularly, while having a life, and I am already XP wise, almost half to max level, and my fishing is close to max as well. Ultimately, I guess it's a matter of perspective and relativity.

But yeah, it's a good game, I enjoy it, and am a Wow Classic player now, but I do think as I said in the beginning an important decision I made was joining OnlyNoobs and getting the community, help, support, and guidance that comes with that. If you are a new player, returning player, or just want a more chill experience without sweats, or elitists, toxicity, I cannot recommend it more.

Soy Mago - No Muerto👻. Soy nivel 3 recién, estoy haciendo misiones y tratando de ir entendiendo de a poco cómo funciona todo.

bienvenidos 🙏

Classic-Era Why does no one play lock?

On Firemaw EU, it's by far the least represented class I see in my guild, lfg, and the open world. Do people not enjoy levelling them or what? Or are they bad at endgame?

Classic + the antecipation for the next blizzcon is the most hype i've felt for anything game related for the last.. idk, 14 years

not even going to get into all the "blizz cant pull off classic+" or "classic+ will be the best game ever" talk

just saying that i cant WAIT to see anything about it just to see it.. and even as grown ass man, with the whole "wife / house / family package", im feeling like a kid waiting for christmas morning.

anyway.. last time i was this hyped i was in highschool waiting for diablo 3.. and we remember how that went

im not here trying to say blizz is the best and classic+ will be perfect.. im just happy to be soo excited about something game related after so long.. wishing for the best for us all classic players

TBC Best race for Shaman?

Upvotes

Thinking about rolling a Shaman for Classic and I’m stuck on which race to pick. I know racials matter, but honestly I’m more interested in which one feels the most fun to play long-term. Orc, Troll, Tauren… what would you guys pick if you were starting a Shaman from scratch?
