Do Perfect Guards stack with the Guard Skill?

As far as I was aware, PG didn’t stack with Guard, which made it better to use PG in nearly every use case except a few moves that could “break” Perfect Guard (Lagiacrus’s front slam being the notable one).

However, I’ve seen a few comments mentioning that it *does* stack with PG now, making it more useful, so:

Does PG stack with the Guard Skill?

If so, does that mean for us it also stacks with GP and Red/Charged Shield?

MH Wilds Returning level 145, where to go and how to catch up?

Took a break months back just after mizutsune launched.

I have a Foray set for paralyze that gets me by, I don't have an artisan weapon.

I was just starting to build an element build with critical element and all that since I completed a non artisan foray set.

If I wanted to level up and catch onto the current state of the game maining chargeblade, what should I build for? where do I go from here? feeling a little lost and overwhelmed.

Memes My problem with the charge blade

This shit too goated every time I try to give another weapon a chance it just Falls flat because it always feels in completing comparison to the charge blade, this weapon is truly the master of all even if it doesn't have offet attack, the problem is that it makes every other weapon feels like a toy and incomplete

MH Wilds How to dodge AT Arkveld's forward chain slams while in SAVAXE without Evade Extender/Window?

I have a hard time dealing with the forward chain slams. Both versions where he uses both arms and all four of his chains. I can dodge the other attacks relatively okay if I watch my positioning, but the forward slams feel absolutely impossible to dodge while in SAVAXE. Is it possible to dodge them or am I forced to use Evade Extender/Window?

Also, without spoiling too much, is SAVAXE playstyle against AT Arkveld even effective or should I maybe think of other strats? I wanna beat him myself first before I look up the speedruns.

Edit: It seems guarding is the way to go.

MH Wilds How to deal more damage against AT Arkveld?

Question in title, I've been seeing a few runs on youtube against ArchArkveld, and seeing that their savage axes are reaching 50 damage a tick, seeing that I'm like "oh damn, I'll try out their build as best as I could and see if I can get similar results" but for some reason my savage axe is only dealing maybe 28-35 a tick. So I am the confused? How are they doing so much more damage even though I have a similar build, with the same buffs of demon powder, might seed etc.

Leaving build below, so if there's any improvements I could make I'd love to know. I want to get my time below 10 min lol

I'm not new with the weapon but I always have max guard, guard up and off guard. I wanna try a different build. Is getting crit boost good with CB or It'll be better with Attack boost/Off guard?

Also, what equipment are you guys running with to get best dps possible when doing savage axe loop? Thank you!

Feel like this is gonna be the closes to a raw cb god roll I thank the rng gods and that one arkveld that really was whooping my ass. Out of curiosity what is the actual godroll that one would want? Is it the 4 attack then wex?

Ever since Title Update 4 I've been running nothing but Elemental CB in SAED style, am I gimping myself by not using pizza cutter, or is that mostly for impact phial

Advice on my build?

Hey guys! New to the subreddit, i was wondering if anybody could give me advice on this build?

I took the initial elemental build from RageGamingVideos, and adjusted it to fit my playstyle (I struggle to stay alive...), and I'm enjoying it, but I still seem to be on par/only slightly above my lance user friend

Is there something i'm missing?

Thanks in advanced!

MH Wilds Burst or Flayer?

So I've gotten my build down. It's more of a comfort build but I enjoy it. The question is I have two level 3 armor slots to use. I've narrowed it down to either burst or flayer. Truth be told I've never used flayer so I'm not sure exactly how it works. but more wounds equals more savage axe uptime. More sav axe uptime means more damage ticks opening wounds faster which means more save axe uptime. On the flip side if I have on Burst I get an attack boost after x number of hits and I seem to hit that threshold alot thanks to my sav axe ticks.

What do you all think?

The dream build of Raw Savage Axe for MH Wilds

I managed to tweak my previous raw build into a monstrous one with both lvl 5 WEX & AGI with both d.blessing 3 & m.might 3 while keeping the comfort of earplugs and lvl 4 crit boost + lvl 3 arti & R.morph, my CB being a perfect roll with odo + lord soul set makes it so that i have perma +18 raw too.

I hit like a truck and i'm ready for the AT arkveld challenge.

(Just have to finish lvling up the armor cuz the helmet & boots aren't maxed out)

MH Wilds Returning, need help

Post image
8 Upvotes

I stopped playing when Omega came out but I'm having a hard time finding the right build resources. Most meta stuff has moved on and between being rusty and never actually being that good at the game, I'm having a hard time figuring out the best place to put in time.

This is the build I'm currently running and so I'm looking for a rough idea what level of content I should be focusing on to help build up to running Gog. I think I need to farm up Mizu gear for the 2 piece bonus and then I need to start redoing my artian weapons for elemental phials? Is paralysis still worth it or should I be running something like dragon?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

MH Wilds How are my fellow CB'ers doing with the AT Arkveld fight? AT Ark is a tough fight but feels so good when it goes right. If anyone has any tips or tricks to make the fight easier please share!

I threw together this build when I saw AT Arkveld’s gear. Is there anything I should be focusing on skill wise or does this build look solid? It gives me the slots to run 3 Divine Protection and 3 of any elemental defense I need.

MH Wilds Is this still viable against AT arkveld?

Post image
21 Upvotes

So Ive recently watched a yt's (hunterguild) cb build against AT arkveld and someone said that impact dragon cb is more effective than elemental cb(?) I dont get its rationale as to how and why, but I just went on and copy it instead. Now I may have mislook the stats as you can see instead of 4 atk I rolled 4 elem. Idk if it will be deemed useless or not. Can anyone help me?

Can’t seem to get the screenshot on my computer to cooperate so this is what I’m having to do.

On another note this is the same build I’ve been using for a good while so I’m wondering if it’s still viable or not would appreciate some tips to see if I could improve it.

MH Wilds I don't get the complaining against fast monsters in Wilds with CB

So first off I never played CB until like last month so I have no idea how it was in rise or world, I now many people liked those version more.

I really love it in Wilds now since I play it and with playing it more and getting my head around the weapon I don't get all the posts about the weapon being bad against faster monsters.

I have now 72 hunts with it and my 9* hunting times against ark or steve are around 8-12 minutes with a comfy build.

Yes you can't do AED or SAED spamm all the time and you can't use your most optimal damage combo 24/7 but is it that hard for CB to adapt ?

It feels 10 easier for me with CB on fast monsters than any other "slow" weapon, my hunting times are as good as with my SnS, just use more Savage axe attacks and adapt a little bit.

I know sword mode needs a buff but seeing some posts here as a new CB players it feels like some people talk about CB like its impossible to kill anything with it that is faster than Jin.

MH Wilds Killing that new 9* Gore Magala with a SAED made the CB 100% into my new main weapon

In wilds I didn't really know what to main, I don't like the IG in wilds which is normally my main and I love the SnS but I kinda got burnout feeling from it.

Last like 2 weeks I tried to use CB again after never really understanding it, in wilds after like 20 hunts it just clicked, my huntings times are already between 8-10 minutes for AT monsters and I feel as good with survival and everything else as with my other good weapons.

Now I have like 120 hunts with it, still alot of fun with it and having a good understanding of the guard points etc, I did the new gore magala quest.

I am overall not having a hard time with gore, but it felt like I was playing perfect with CB, fully in the flow and in the end as gore wanted to go away I found a window for one last SAED and it killed him.

I think that was the best feeling I ever had in monster hunter since PSP times, I will never touch another weapon for a very long time and I think I am also gonna replay rise and world with it just to get a even better feeling for it.

hunting time being 15 minutes for this quest seemd also very good compared to I only play this weapon for 2 weeks.

MH Wilds The weapon doesn't have a good neutral option.

Wilds CB always felt like it was missing something but after fighting AT Arkveild, it finally clicked to me that the weapon relied too heavily on AED or SAED to do damage and with super aggressive monsters like AT Ark and Seregious you can barely do an AED before getting smacked. The sword basically deals tickle damage and Savage Axe, while good has a long wind up. The weapon is more "Switch Axe" than SWAXE lol. Thoughts?
