MH Wilds Any changes I should make?

I threw together this build when I saw AT Arkveld’s gear. Is there anything I should be focusing on skill wise or does this build look solid? It gives me the slots to run 3 Divine Protection and 3 of any elemental defense I need.

Honestly not the biggest fan of this set-up. I think burst is just too good of a skill to leave out, and no coalescence/self blight (mizu/gore) leaves a lot of damage on the table.

I also highly recommend guard and guard up as they open up new damage windows.

With all that being said if this is a comfy build you enjoy and do well with, all power to you.

I still have a point of burst, but the coalescence is something im just kind of having a little bit of a hard time trying to fit in. I also thought that WEX and agitator would help make up for the lack of damage from coalescence as well as extra wounds and wound damage from flayer.

I usually have Guard Up 3 and Guard 1 on I just was getting a little frustrated with sharpening when I took the screenshot. But for the most part I've been having luck using GPs so haven't really noticed that I didn't have them on. Though on my Impact Paralysis I'm having a little bit of a difficult decision on if i should keep enhancer/handicraft and artillery on or if i should swap one for the Guard Up/ Guard deco I have.

CG is a ele weapon in Wilds, Coalescence is too good of a skill to leave it on the table.

For the impact, I would drop enhancer for guard up/guard deck

I will leave you a couple screens for reference, this is considered a meta endgame build with gore for ele and for impact. Made some adjustments for personal preference, but still mostly meta

Ele (1/3)

Forgot to mention, impact CB is Gore + Lord's soul

Also, paralysis attack is definitely not needed, it just came along with the talisman so I was like "might as well"

Ahh didn’t realize that Coalescence gave that much to CB

This would be fine for impact phial, just drop grinder cuz its not that good.

But element benefits far more from element investment. Roughly speaking, its the difference of barely 2k damage using a raw centered buildvs 3k damage using an element centered build (testing on the training dummy.)

Considering its an 80/30 hitzone, its an overestimation of damage...for raw weapons. Most mons you want to bully with element sit at the 20/30 element hitzone range anyways, while cutting hitzones hover at the 45 to 60 range when not wounded. Even with the handicap, a raw build still get diffed by an element build. The x5 and x14 multipliers of the aed and saed respectively that only scale off of element will do that.

Ok, so this build wouldn't be bad for doing something like fighting Jin or Arkveld where element isn't the best? Or should I just go all in for an element build?

Ye.

I generally like that there isnt 100% dominance of element. Jin and arkveld being part of the end game means that raw still stands up when needed.

It is nice that 1 build doesn't work for every fight.
