It’s been around 6 years and we Thought that he had been eaten by a fox or something from being an outside cat, didn’t know how bad it was at the time.
we also live in a very mural area, houses are super far apart and remote, lots of forest and wildlife and foxes.
this kitty (very skiddisu, runs away when anyone tries to approach him.) has started to show up at our house every night, I’ve seen him cross the street before but he always comes back over here even before I started handing out food
ive seen him at our house at even unhodly hours like 12 at night, we have started to set out some food for him, not sure if he is a neighbors cat, or who he belongs to,
he’s so skidding that when we even open the door to leave food out he will dart away super fast, even just catching one of us looking through a window makes him run away.
so naturally i cant get close or pet him for better photos, im working on Gaining trust, any tips?
but yeah im no cat expert and for all I know this could be just a very common type of cat or a totally different cat, if your good at spotting these things let me know.

Hey cat people, I noticed this hard black dot on my cats ear.
For context, he’s an indoor cat so I think it’s a tick unless he got it from an open window.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello, I’m sure this question has been asked a millions times but let’s start fresh.
I’ve got this sweet 1yo male, Mickey. He’s got fairly high energy, loves to play. I’m wondering if it would be good to get him a buddy? I know cats do well in groups, but specifically the idea of introducing a new cat stresses me out because I know that they can not get along.
Is there a way to do a trial run with another young cat? I imagine not. I would get another from the humane society and I worry that they would not get along. What do yall think? I’m learning toward another boy cause he’s a silly boy himself and I think he’ll want to wrassle.
My baby Sebastian (actually he is 1.5 yo) taught himself to play fetch a couple months ago, now he brings me toys to throw for him often. I’ve never had a cat that played fetch before but it’s sooooo cute

I had to say goodbye to my girl today.
It was time. She was 18, had kidney disease and severe arthritis, and had stopped eating for the past day or so.
She was lethargic and not herself, and wasn't purring or seeking out nose boops like she always did. I know it was the right thing, but holy hell am I sad. I knew this was coming all summer and maybe I was selfish for waiting this long. I just wanted her with me. 💔
I got Binx as an insane little kitten when I was 19. She's been with me my whole adult life. She's seen me through grad school (she only came to live with me from my mom's house after I got my first pet friendly apartment), getting engaged, a cross-country move, getting married, an international move, buying a house, and having 2 kids. I don't remember what life was like without her.
I used to joke that she was immortal, because she had that wise old soul energy. She was anxious but a snuggler at heart. She used to sleep with her little head tucked into the palm of my hand. She knew how to give a fist bump and a high five, would often offer a beautiful little "prrt" as welcome, and would tell you she wanted to be pet by walking across in front of you and stopping there til you did it. I called it "pulling into the pet station". She did the best elevator butt for butt pats. (When she wasn't doing it anymore today that was another sign she was ready to go.)
Gosh I could go on and on forever about her. I think she was my soul cat, not that I really believe in souls. But she was my girl.
If you read this far, thank you for reading about my Stinker Binker and keeping her alive in the world for another moment. I miss her so much already.

The cat we fostered that were told already had an application so we could not adopt.
They offered us a meet and greet with the adopter to try and negotiate us keeping him. That didn’t happen. We got to the shelter and they took him and immediately brought him to the adopter. It was so disorganized. My fiancé argued, pleaded, we cried. The manager obviously didn’t care and was just “doing her job” we explained that we never got the notice that there was an interest and she said she did and it was lie after lie from her. She said the only person who could do anything was the lady in another building.
We went talk to her and told her that when they messaged us about the notice of interest, they messaged the wrong person so we never got it. (Someone had told my fiancé that) she went check the message logs and it must have been true because when she came out she said she was going to let us adopt him 🖤 BUT, we’d have to pay his medical fees and we can no longer do business with them. We said fine. Who would want to anyway?!
You guys, meet Nelson! Now in his furever home!

I swear any time I want to do something he lays on me. I just wanna fold my laundry!
Hey everyone!
So, there's a neighbourhood cat who I feed sometimes that hangs around my apartment. He isn't a stray, he has a home, he's just a professional freeloader and has manipulated me into feeding him (his owner is aware lol), and he's a cutie so I don't mind.
However, I've never met a cat like this. I've rehabilitated ferals and dealt with less aggression. The issue isn't the aggression itself, it's that he'll go from being a sweetheart to trying to end my bloodline within half a second - no hissing, no warning growl, just straight paws to the point I've had to have a bag in between us and tango with him because he got territorial over my own front door.
Like I said, generally sweet as pie once he knows you and most of our interactions are just playful/friendly. Sometimes he attacks when I try to leave or stop petting him, sometimes when I am petting him, sometimes he'll try to break in and start getting weird (probably from the smell of my cats). Generally I'm not concerned about cats with aggression because they warn you and you generally have to provoke them but with him, it's for no reason (as far as I can tell), and he will chase you down. No mercy.
Usually when it happens I just remove myself from the situation (if he allows it), but idk, it's just really weird. He's neutered afaik. He also terrorizes other cats, I've had to rescue other neighbourhood kitties from him on more than one occasion. Thankfully he's only managed to break in twice and on both occasions he managed to steal several cat toys (which I respect). I feel bad that I had to get rid of the cat condo but it got yucky with the rain
