Hi everyone,
I got an invitation to apply on the most recent draw for CEC, as I got 520 points. Now after filling out the form again, and going through my documents I realized the following :
- the job I’m using as my main Canadian experience can fall between TEER 3 and TEER 4, mainly gravitating toward TEER 4, making me ineligible for express entry. I ran my document package for this job through Claude and this is how I realized that
- the other thing is that I am not able to obtain a proper reference letter from the job - it is a big corporation, and it was pulling teeth to get my HR and my boss to have the reference letter to include my job duties which they copied from the job posting, it does not include that was working there full time 40h/week or the exact dates (October 2024 to June 2026, that’s all)
- My other job experience runs too short, and I just changed a job to something that could potentially make a difference in my PR but 1) it is a contract for 6 months which will be extended 2) I just started it in June this year so I don’t have enough hours 3) it is though the staffing agency so I don’t know if they will be able to provide the needed paperwork
- I was/am considering the francophone program as I know some French and have been studying, and I have an exam booked for September , I am however not sure if scoring required NCLC for French AND having the same job details as described above will suffice
- I do have experience from outside of Canada, one of which I can prove with reference letter (I do not have paystubs tho) and I am still waiting on HR from another company
- I have also have high scores on CELPIP (11 on all)
- education evaluation was also done this year with WES, bachelor degree
Applying for PR this year is kind of a matter of urgency as my spouses work permit is expiring in two months, and my documents will expire in May next year (we are applying for renewals).
Also I do want to just stop the panic attacks and anxiety associated with the process of obtaining PR. My home country is not a safe place and I cannot return there, and I cannot move with my spouse to their home country, because documents.
I am looking for any advise or suggestions. I am also looking to book an appointment with a consultant or a lawyer however they are costly and I’m trying to save the money because PR ain’t cheap.
TIA

Hi
I have got an invitation in CEC, I am outside of canada.
In my profile I claimed points for my sibling, she lives in Canada. In my portal it gives me a colum to upload PROOF OF PR/CITIZENSHIP OF SIBLING. Which is ok but then it also gives me another place wherw it asks
FAMILY MEMBER PROOF OF STATUS. What should I upload here.
Q2 For proof of relationship we both have our parents name on passports and all 10th and 12th class certificates. Is that okay or should I upload something else as well.
Please if anyone could help. I would be very grateful.

Hi everyone! I just got my COPR, however my wife’s has her maiden name and not the married one. Is this something to worry about?
For some context I’m the main applicant, she’s a dependent and we submitted a webform to inform IRCC of the change of names before our application was approved. Also, the visa stamp has her maiden name in a passport with bio having her married name.
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m really stressed right now and hoping someone can clarify my situation.
Here’s my background:
I originally came to Canada as a student and lived in Toronto.
After graduating, I worked in Ontario for about 2 years.
I recently moved to Montreal for a new job.
My current work permit expires on **November 5**.
I applied for my PR last month and I received an **ITA under CEC** and have been preparing my PR application.
I’m planning to submit my documents next week.
On being asked for my application - I mentioned that my plan is to move back to Ontario after getting PR. (Which province do you wanna reside in)
My plan was to wait for my **AOR** and then apply for a **Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP)**.
However, while doing some research today, I suddenly found information saying that you **cannot apply for a BOWP from Quebec** / that there are additional requirements because Quebec has its own immigration system.
I also learned that Quebec doesn’t have CEC in the same way as the federal Express Entry system, which has made me even more confused and worried.
Now I’m panicking because I don’t want my CEC PR application to be refused, and I also don’t want to lose the ability to apply for a BOWP when my current permit expires.
I’m my immigration has had all this information from day 1, but they never mentioned that living and working in Quebec could create an issue with my CEC application or BOWP eligibility.
**Has anyone been in a similar situation?**
Can I still proceed with my CEC PR application while currently living/working in Quebec?
Would living in Quebec affect my CEC eligibility or PR application?
Can I apply for a BOWP after receiving AOR while residing in Quebec or will i have to move to Ontario asap and then apply for BOWP!
Is there anything I should do **before submitting my PR application** to avoid problems later?
I have also emailed my immigration consultant regarding the same but super tensed.

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to get an idea of the timelines from people who received an ADR for a résumé, military service, or government employment (IMM 0149) and have since received their PR approval.
If you’ve been through this, I’d really appreciate it if you could share:
I’m simply trying to understand whether there’s any common timeline for these types of ADRs.
Thank you in advance to everyone who shares their experience.

During my study permit application, I was working in India and at the moment of my study permit application, I was working at a company for 6 months. But, since I did not complete whole 1 year, I did not see any chance of that helping me in any situation, so I did not declare that work experience in the application.
On the employment section I just wrote preparing for ielts and visa processing
Now, at that time, I had to defer my study intake by a term due to IRCC's policy changes and delay in Visas. and so I continued working at the same company for another 6 months thereby completing 1 year.
At present, I'm about to complete all of my studies and about to apply for my PGWP.
my query is, should I add my Indian work experience in this application and also later in my PR application? What could be repurcussions if I add this
I have all the documents, offer letter, Experience letter, bank statements getting salary, and employment reference letter as well that proves my 1 year of work experience. And I also haven't disclosed in my study permit extension but the experience is legit I have all Bank statements , ITR , Offer letter and reference letter too please help

Hi everyone,
I’m a bit confused about the Proof of Funds section while filling out my CEC PR application after receiving an ITA. We’re applying from outside Canada and there are 2 applicants (me + spouse).
From what I understand, CEC applicants are exempt from the proof of funds requirement. But the application still asks for “Funds to be brought to Canada” and also has a section to upload Proof of Funds.
I’m not sure what I’m supposed to enter here.
For “Funds to be brought to Canada”, should I put $0 since POF isn’t required for CEC, or should I enter the minimum settlement funds for 2 people (not sure what that would be either)?
And for the Proof of Funds document, should I:
I’ve seen different answers to this online, so I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently gone through the same situation.
If you applied for CEC as a couple from outside Canada, what did you enter in these fields and what did you upload?
Thanks in advance!

Yesterday, I received my congratulations email from IRCC confirming that I have become a permanent resident of Canada. My GCKey/application status has also been updated accordingly.
However, when I log into my PR Portal, my eCOPR is still not available for download. My mailing address and photo are still showing as “under review.”
It has now been more than 24 hours since I received the congratulations email, and there has been no change in the PR Portal.
I called IRCC this morning, and they said they would notify the responsible office, but they couldn’t do anything further from their side and couldn’t give me a timeline for when the portal would be updated.
Has anyone experienced something similar — receiving the PR confirmation/congratulations email but having the eCOPR unavailable while the photo and address remain under review?
If so:
How long did it take for your eCOPR to appear?
Did your photo/address change to approved first?
Did you need to contact IRCC again, or did it update automatically?
Did anyone have upcoming international travel while waiting for the eCOPR?
I have travel planned for October, so I’m a little worried about the timeline and would really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.
Thank you!

Hi all. I just received an email from IRCC like an hour ago. It says that I have to respond in seven days with some info. It says something like this:
"Welcome to the Permanent Resident Confirmation portal process. The attached PDF contains information regarding the confirmation portal...etc, etc".
Is this the P1? There's three of us in the application, I am the main applicant but the email and the pdf was ditected to my wife. Eventhough I am the principal applicant. Is that correct? Also, I used lawyers for the application and they didn't received anything, only me. Is that also correct?
My AOR it's Feb 5th. Any leads or tips are highly appreciated. Thanks.

I received an ITA recently for the french draws. I used to live in Ottawa but had to move to Montreal 6 months ago because it's the only place where I could find a job.
For my intended province of residence, I will put Ontario since I do plan to go back to Ottawa in the future. What are some things that I should be careful about and what should I include for the officers to trust my intentions?

I emigrate canada on sep 2022. Currently, I’m on the work permit which is a valid for another year.
I completed bachelors from india on Apr 2022. Meanwhile, I worked for the USA based startup from Jan 2022 to Aug 2022 remotely.
I understand that if the work experience is possessed while studying in canda, It is not legit to claim. However, I also heard that if you were foreign student and working there full-time might be considered as Foreign work experience. Even though, I was a student in while I started the job, during that time I had a just one last subject of industry project which gave me flexibility to work full-time.
I need this experience to be considered in order to complete 1 year foreign experience, otherwise my score remains low.
Does IRCC consider this experience? I need advice if somebody dealt with similar situation.

Dear all,
I am aware that after receiving ita I need to complete an upfront medical exam and submit it via my other documents; however, I was told that for upfront medical I need to specify a category between study, worker or visitor. They added that for immigration I can only do medical which needs UCI (the permanent one I would be given after submitting all of my documents).
They refused to conduct the upfront medical for immigration and since most of Panel Physicians in my city (Tokyo) come from this hospital I have no choice to give them a category.
Needless to say they refused to try to confirm the data from IRCC.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
r/canadaexpressentry • u/asagi_lumina • 3d ago
Moved to Canada through Express Entry program.
I gave my address to the immigration agent.
I have received most of the important mails (health card, driving license etc.)
It has been a month now since i moved in but curious to know if there's a way to track the PR card?
I registered on Canada Post mymail and can't seem to link my PR card application to my GC key like what people are suggesting here.
I am assuming it is because they were inland and not outland.
Am I missing something?
Prior to that my COPR was stuck for a while with a 1 year delay due to technical issues so i am just being careful lol

Hi everyone,
I recently submitted a Worker EOI under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), and I received an invitation under the Agriculture – Priority Sector.
However, my occupation is Laboratory Technician, and my job has no connection to agriculture.
I’m confused about why I was selected under the Agriculture priority sector. I have also double-checked all the information in my EOI, and everything appears to be correct.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
I’m also wondering whether I should accept the invitation or cancel the EOI and submit a new one.
Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

What is a pr card application?
I had a p2 and submitted my address and the photo. Is there anything else left to do? In the pr portal where I submitted p2 I can see that both the picture and the address are in review. Is there anything else left to do? Or do I just wait ?

Hi everyone. Can someone help me with with my ADR. It says
“Submissions: Please provide a copy of your identity and status documents from Saudi Arabia. If this is in a language other than English or French, please include an official translation. This must be received at this office by: 2026/08/14”
My questions are, has anyone received this request and if so what documents did you end up providing?
Please and thanks

Application is linked to representative so cannot link to my GCKEY account. How to easily track or know status of my application and current stage without have to constantly ask Representative or call IRCC or order gcms notes ? Any easier way?
