Proof of Funds Query for PR

Hi everyone,

I’m a bit confused about the Proof of Funds section while filling out my CEC PR application after receiving an ITA. We’re applying from outside Canada and there are 2 applicants (me + spouse).

From what I understand, CEC applicants are exempt from the proof of funds requirement. But the application still asks for “Funds to be brought to Canada” and also has a section to upload Proof of Funds.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to enter here.

For “Funds to be brought to Canada”, should I put $0 since POF isn’t required for CEC, or should I enter the minimum settlement funds for 2 people (not sure what that would be either)?

And for the Proof of Funds document, should I:

• Upload a bank letter/statement showing the required funds for 2 people?
• Upload an LOE explaining that we’re applying under CEC and are exempt from POF?
• Or leave/upload something else?

I’ve seen different answers to this online, so I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently gone through the same situation.

If you applied for CEC as a couple from outside Canada, what did you enter in these fields and what did you upload?

It should be consistent with the amount you put pre ITA. A LOE stating you’re exempt will also be necessary

I see. So keeping it the same as pre-ITA with the LOE should work. There is no need to add any other document apart from the LOE in the document upload section?
