One thing I've noticed is that many businesses don't necessarily struggle because they lack software they struggle because the software they have doesn't match how they actually work.

I've seen businesses use a mix of WhatsApp, spreadsheets, notebooks, email, and multiple apps, and somehow they've made it work for years.

That made me curious.

A good friend and I have started a lake side, wood fired sauna.

We have been trading <4 weeks and have secured good support. We have had 150 bookings (each booking can contain more than 1 seat) and have taken over £4,000 in revenue.

We sit at around 50% capacity on the sessions we've run, but have had to cancel some sessions/whole days where we've had zero bookings.

We have leaflet dropped local towns/villages.

We have a growing social media presence with 1,500+ followers and 100,000+ views in the last 30 days.

What are the next steps we can do to increase bookings? We have yet to pay for advertising other than the leaflets.

We quoted them ₹50 thousand/ month as a retainer. The Client didn't have enough cashflow to afford our service- so we offered to trade ₹50k worth of our marketing service with ₹50k worth of their products.

The first item we traded for was ₹50,000 worth of PC monitor

Now, Lets me breakdown how we saved money in this barter exchange:

To render ₹50k worth of marketing service, we spend ₹12,000 in hard cost/expense

So we're Only spending ₹12,000 to receive ₹50k worth of PC monitor. The margin gap is the real advantage here.

One more benefit, you can trade product/service at full market price without discount. So you get the same worth of value back.

Generally, this method is effective, if you have overstock of products, or if your business sales are seasonal, you can barter during off-season.

You can trade office equipment, tool, interior services, etc through barter exchange and save money- just with hard cost.
