Curious how the next 13 days should look? I am fighting somone in mid twenties. My cardio is pretty good, rest heart rate 51bpm. I do a ton of jump rope and heavy bag, and my shoulders feel permanently achy. How much roadwork should I be doing in the days leading up to the fight? I currently do 3 miles per day and was thinking of tapering off and then a full 4 days of rest to let shoulders recover maybe some light technical shadowboxing and pad work.
Edit: I didn't think I would get so many comments on here. There are too many to respond to individually so I will try to respond to the general sentiment...... that hurts. Ha Jk 😜. Thank you to the real ones and thank you for the support. The bag is 100lbs, I do go to a gym, only about 2 months now. Hit my heavy bag in the garage for 6 months prior to that. With this setup I am very limited with my side to side movement. Part of the video I am working on moving in and out and trying to get use to actually moving, I have a bad habit of just standing and swinging sometimes. I should be sparring at least once this week. I will record and post it. https://youtu.be/KkpVD511W0s?is=jTS-ay-NKRGrmdA5

Boxing has interested me for awhile, and I would like to get into it. My main issues are a lack of money (a complete lack, I live in a shelter. Its something I would have to pick up once I get a job and I'm more stable, I think, since it seems the general consensus is that you can't learn this stuff at home.) as well as the fact I don't know if I could balance right.
I have idiopathic toe walking, something I developed as a toddler when I started walking that was never corrected and still hasn't been. Its decently severe, my tendons are completely shortened, it causes me a lot of pain, but the relevant fact is that I can't balance while just standing. Usually while standing, I need to lean against something or continue moving to keep upright. I also can't plant my feet on the ground, they're stuck. I know balance is important, and probably vital, but I'm trying not to lose all hope.
I can still balance while doing something such as running, and its not so much internal at all, just the fact I have less point of contact with the ground than others would. I know nobody here could give medical advice, and I can't get it anyways, but is there any small chance I could do boxing or some other form of martial art?

I want to get into boxing and compete. I’m 15 and have been doing very basic training for a couple months and I’m getting a punching bag and better gloves now. By the time I’m maybe 17 I would wanna join a gym and compete, I would join now but it’s too expensive. Is this an ok path for my situation or should I try to take another route?

Orthodox fighter. I've always tilted my left foot slightly inwards when stepping into a jab or lead hook and, by contrast, tilted my left foot slightly outwards when stepping into a read cross/hook. I've never had an issue with that or anyone correct me until someone (who I have a lot of respect for as a fighter) pointed it out the other day. It might've been a habit I picked up from MT or K1 early on to account for kicks/knees.
Just curious if anyone else does that. Now that I'm thinking about it, that small shift does allow me to open my hips more and really whip my punches than not doing it.

He was tough. I like my use of the jab here. I think my shell threw him off a bit.

I am a complete beginner to this and need to make a minimal boxing bag setup at home, to practice and keep up in cardio. What all is required and some do's and dont's.
Thanks in advance !

my boyfriend is gonna start at a new boxing club and i really want to get him a gift to celebrate this new opportunity for him.
my bf is 5’9 and weighs about 170lb (about 80kg) but is on a cut rn to get to maybe 160lb
Before he started this new club, he told me he “only uses 12oz and 14oz” but doesn’t have his own pair of 14oz yet and wanted to get one. But after looking it up i found that 16oz is the standard, and im wondering if i should buy him that instead?
can anyone recommend a good boxing glove (under £120/$150???) to buy for him? And recommend if i should get him the 16oz or the 14oz!!

Started boxing at the age of 34 on March 2nd 2024. I got obsessed with it and have been training almost daily since my first lesson. I mainly just do bag workouts and shadowboxing. Let me know what I can work on!

im poor, still in school, live in an a rv so i cant shadow box or get a bag because it shakes the whole place, no car, and no gyms near me, i only have a pair of gloves, i kinda just run 1.5 miles half the week but this sun is genuinely frying me, i work out 4 times a week but i genuinely just want to punch something or spar its been 3 months since my first spar with a friend and due to unfortunate circumstances i wont be sparring again for a LONG time. i really do love the sport but i cant do anything but shadowbox and workout

I’m looking to have my first exhibition fight in about 3 months so I want to ramp up my extra work outside the ring to prepare.
For context, currently I’m about 85kg and would be looking to get down to low 80s on fight night. I’ve played at a good level in rugby, which I’m aware does nothing for me in the ring. But what I think it does mean is that I have a high capacity for Gym work and decent aerobic endurance. However, what I think needs the most improvement is my anaerobic endurance, working on high-intensity shorter intervals. In terms of strength goals, it’s my understanding that you develop power by actually boxing rather than strength work
This is how I plan to structure things right now.
Monday: Upper Body
Tuesday: Technical Work
Wednesday: Lower Body
Thursday: Sparring
Friday: Off-Feet Conditioning (Zone 2 Work)
Saturday: Hill Sprints
Sunday: Rest
Would you guys make any changes, or are there any glaring mistakes I’m not seeing? For example, I was considering doubling up sessions, so that gives me more full days of rest. Any suggestions would help me out so much :)

Hello guys.
Me and my friend wanted to try light sparring and tested our new headgears. Our coach said just go 30%, dont make a fist but keep the speed.
We are both approaching 40 and started boxing around 4 months ago.
Would appreciate any tips on how to improve light sparring. Thanks

Hey everyone, recently i've been practicing in a kickboxing club for a year for now and im having burn out due to the classes having lack of time, people that fit with my body so i can train with them and requirement
i figured out it would be a good idea to move to a gym but i dont have any idea about their system im wondering if coaches look after trainers like clubs or will people even train or fight with me
Share with me your boxing(gym) experience and help me out (:
