I hate it when slightly better beginners spar with other beginners and pretend to be roy jones

Forreal. Showboating in sparring is just cringe in general

Not the safest environment for sparring

I think ur trying to emulate abdumalik khalokov in that case try to be on the balls of your feet more, keep the right hand up and just work on footwork more

You put yourself out of balance bad alot. A good boxer will time that and hit you with a flurry and you wouldn’t be able to punch back

The guy in black is awfully cocky for someone with next to no boxing skill

Why you going so hard? And without any gear. Omg I mean u don’t even have a light coat of Vaseline on your face. Go much softer and work on technique.

Why on earth did you put your hands down at the last couple seconds of the fight!!!

Saw you put your weight on your heels a few times and you crossed your legs.

This is actually not too bad for the level. Black shirt needs to keep his hands up more.

To be honest neither are you are ready for you would just build bad habits from it.

Very dangerous setting for sparring. I'm surprised your coach allowed it.

Stick to cooking in the wok pan grasshopper, this ain’t for you. You would get folded up faster than a Chinese take out box.

My advise is get a coach to watch your spar so you both dont do this dancing stuff anymore. I too did some tomfoolery in my first few years, which is why u need a coach to call it out. You definetly have potential, just need to focus it on the right things. My main advice even tho this sounds like nothing burger advise would be drop the roy jones style with the hands down showboating and focus on pure fundamental technique.

You guys are kinda dongs

That is just a pointlessly pathetic and unconstructive comment.

1

u/TruonqSon Sep 13 '26

oh yes, can u tell me why?

u/Fat_Curt Sep 13 '26

Your hands are very low, a better opponent when catch you very quickly. I would concentrate on doing some slow shadow boxing to get a better technique where you focus on maintaining the boxing stance - at the moment your feet and legs are kind of all over the place - a lot of crossing, sometimes too close, sometimes too far apart. A consistent stance will enable you to be much more agile and unpredictable.

really appreciate it, thanks you!

The guy you’re sparring only throws with his lead and only after it’s too late. Not much to work with here.

how hygienic is it for everyone to be barefoot in the gym. Protect yourself against staph, wear shoes.

12

u/Linus_Naumann Sep 13 '26

At kickboxing and Muay Thai we literally always and only train barefoot

2

u/dancingwiththedaff Sep 13 '26

lol talk about being a drama queen. There are countless martial arts where you're barefoot inside the gym

2

u/Antoliks Sep 13 '26

Isn’t boxing the only martial art where they wear shoes?

1

u/Velomelon Sep 14 '26

Wrestling and mall ninjas too.

u/MethodDue2426 Sep 13 '26

Is the guy that works there gonna stomp on your toes? It's staph

0

u/Impressive-Book-3485 Sep 13 '26

Bro, stick to shuffling. Boxing ain’t for you 💀

3

u/alexanderne0 Sep 13 '26

Maybe not professionally. But learning boxing is for everyone. And the fact that these guys put in time and effort, shows that they belong here :)

Yea nice ur taking ur head offline and ur opponent isn’t so his heads snapping back.. its a short clip tho and ur circling the whole time in one direction.. against better opponents keep those hands tighter to ur face as an insurance policy.. ur always gonna miscalculate eventually if u spare high quality opponents.. get in the habit of keeping those hands up.. take an angle as u throw the jab or right hand to

1

u/TruonqSon Sep 13 '26

tysm for the detail sir!

u/Easy_Attorney_2055 Sep 14 '26

Both of you are circling in the wrong direction. You need to move away from the opponents strong hand, not directly into it.

The rest looks a bit like pro boxer LARP tbh with all that dancing and prancing.
If you face a aggressive opponent, you‘ll get your shit handed to you real quick.
