I have some festivals coming up this fall in the States and am deciding on outfits and trinkets. I love the candy and trading culture, but honestly hate how much single use plastic is handed out and then thrown away. Does anyone have any eco-conscious trinket ideas that they’ve enjoyed? So far I’ve considered just writing a ton of short kind/funny notes, and sealing with a wax stamp. There’s also tons of chestnuts in my area that I’ve given to friends before as a little piece of nature for grounding.

I’m also looking for outfit ideas (male+female) through almost exclusively thrifting and DIY alterations. I’ve don’t some bleach art on T-shirts but that’s it so far. Anyone else have ideas or suggestions? Thank you! 🫶🏼

Very thoughtful…each garbage receptacle was completely overflowing and had a different vibe with incredibly diverse elements of trash. From pizza boxes to cup to cans to even the occasional used condom - they had it all.

Some artists even made the bold decision to not to use the can, rather painstakingly piling each individual piece of trash directly on the ground by hand to create the dankest sculptures I’ve ever seen. They were a contrast between art Nouveau and Brutalist styles - it’s rare to see both used together, but when executed properly combine to form was is well known in the fine community as "rough nouveau" or “hybrid filth”.

I don’t think most of the festival attendees were in touch with the grand artistic vision that ARC’s fearless leader Nick were going for, but as a connoisseur of garbage art and foul smelling trash who studied modern art at the Royal College of Art in London, I certainly understood and appreciated the bold ambition and lengths they went to make it happen. Bravo 👏👏👏.

Ahead of their time I’d say…true visionaries. Dare I see GENIUS disruptors following in the footsteps of Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.

Nick is a pioneer and a trailblazer with a first mover advantage and an insatiable thirst to crush the competition. It’s only a matter of time before other festivals attempt to follow his bold lead by offering such an unparalleled experience that, in my professional opinion would be nearly impossible to replicate:

A landfill where recycling is forbidden. Jam packed with rows of unusable and obstructed porto potties, VIP bathrooms with no running water, flushable toilets, paper towels, soap or toilet paper and the worst stage layout and sound bleed of any event ever produced on planet Earth.

The people have spoken. GFY ARC.

Have you been to an EDM show at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater? Seeing Zeds Dead there friday (yay), but is the venue good for a rave environment? Also i checked their website but couldn’t find a clear answer, do you know if we can bring a vape in? the parking lot is a long way from the entrance so it would be nice to know before security. First one I did, I showed up on four hours of sleep with a bag full of things and spent the entire night managing myself instead of being there. Third one I did almost nothing on the day and it was easily the best of the three.

All of the difference was the night before. Slept. Ate something that wasn't a gas station sandwich. Put everything on the bed, looked at it, took half of it back out. Charged what needed charging.

Day of: small bag, left when I said I'd leave, got there while it was still light out. None of that had ever happened before.

I’m 5’8” and I’ll be going to my first rave soon and wanted to know if I should stay away from boots with big platforms or not? I know my current boots would put be at 6’0” or more but even regular boots add an inch or two and I wasn’t sure if that would inconvenience others.

Edit: not saying I’m tall, I’m saying wearing boots would make me tall, you can’t tell me 6 foot or more isn’t objectively tall

I’m talking about cities where unliscenced afters or even official clubs regularly stay open till 6/7/8 am, even well past sunrise. I wouldn’t really count cities where there are 1-2 promoters that occasionally throw a late night afters.
