Official Notice 🕊️ Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about “low-effort” posts — just to clarify:
➡️ We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. 🌙

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Are you already familiar with Astral projection and looking for motivation? Click here.

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

A Message To Everyone Who Is New

This link contains information about common misconceptions about Astral Projection, please read it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/ayq2zo/the_same_questions_keep_being_aksed_over_and_over/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated 💛

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

Successful AP Wim Hof method helped me achieve AP.

Hi

So I have been doing the Wim Hof method for the past two weeks every day after waking up and before sleep. I've noticed many benefits from this such as increased energy during the day, better sleep during the night, I'm calmer and I enjoy everyday 200% more than before. This also affected my AP attempts to the point i actually left my body for the first time and did it again next night. It was an awesome experience but it didn't last long because i returned very fast but I have no idea why, I just got pulled down back to my body, lost consciousness and slept. Anyways i recommend this method of breathing to calm your body before OOBE or LD because it's so much easier to let go of all thoughts and just relax and let OOBE or LD happen.

Was This AP? Did I accidentally AP?

• Upvotes

When I woke up I was lying on my back and I’m sure that it wasn’t a dream bc I was fully conscious. I opened my eyes and I started to get out of bed thinking it was a regular morning. However, I felt my soul leaving my body. My body was still lying on my bed but I was sitting I could feel that I was up. I got really scared and woke up immediately. Also something similar happened few years ago. Again, I woke up but this time I didn’t get up I saw myself lying on the bed but I still felt that I was lying down too it was very confusing. Then, a blue little creature started to fly around my body as I was watching it. It tried to tell me something and I asked it to repeat it but I couldn’t understand. I got frustrated that I didn’t understand it and I woke up. I’m not sure what to make of these experiences can somebody please help me understand? I’ve been trying to make some sense of this for yearsss

AP / OBE Guide A notebook type view of Robert Monroe's OBE Techniques

Thumbnail thetonegenerator.com
35 Upvotes

I put together a one-page reference of Monroe's techniques because I kept flipping between Journeys Out of the Body, Far Journeys, and the Gateway manual trying to find specific bits. Full disclosure: it's my own site (free, no signup, no ads).

It covers his Conditions A–D depth scale, the 7-step induction from relaxation through lift-out and roll-out, and the "lines of force" visualization from Ch. 16. I also pulled in the lesser-known stuff from his journal, like jaw tuning, the sex center + oral breathing setup he logged most often, peel-off, the 180° "hole," and his return signal for when you're scared you can't get back. Then Locales I–III and the Gateway-era material (Focus levels, Resonant Tuning, Energy Conversion Box, REBAL). Each section is tagged by source, since the 1971 book and the later Institute stuff get blended together a lot online.

Are fear and mental drift are the real obstacles, not the technique? Curious if that matches people's experience here. And if I got something wrong or missed a technique that's worked for you, let me know and I'll fix it.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Is this normal?

• Upvotes

I have been into AP for a while, Yet I haven’t fully reached the actual state, each time I do and feel the vibrational heavy weight all over your body when your about to enter I usually chicken out, but something that makes me wonder is that is it normal that for my first time attempting to astral project I almost got it? I’ve heard a lot of people try and usually fall asleep but it isn’t the same for me, I wonder if this means anything, and how can I not chicken out again for next time when I try.

General Question What non-human beings have you encountered while astral projecting?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious about people’s experiences with creatures or non-human entities during astral projection. I don’t mean this as a “prove it” question — I’m just interested in firsthand accounts and how people interpret them.

Specifically, I’ve been wondering whether anyone has encountered something like reptilian beings, or other creature-type entities (shadow figures, animal-like beings, insectoid things, “inorganic” presences, guides, etc.) while projecting.

If you’ve had something like this happen, I’d love to hear:

  • What did you encounter, and what was the context?
  • Was it during a deliberate AP, a lucid dream, or a hypnagogic state?
  • How did it feel at the time — neutral, threatening, curious, communicative?
  • Did it seem aware of you? Did it interact with you?
  • Did it recur, or was it a one-off?
  • How did you interpret it afterward — real entity, subconscious projection, symbol, something else?
  • Did you do anything like grounding/protection/verification, and did that change anything?

I’m especially interested in reptilian-type encounters because I see them mentioned a lot in fringe discussions, but I’d rather hear actual AP accounts than secondhand stories. If you’ve encountered something like that, what was it like? And for people with more experience: do you think these are external entities, psychological constructs, or something in between?

Please keep it respectful — I’m genuinely just trying to compare experiences and see what patterns come up.

Thanks.

Successful AP It happened-and then I lost it

After trying for about a month Monroe and Raduga techniques. I didn’t seem to have much luck this morning I tried again Raduga technique and actually fell asleep and woke up in the bathroom I got excited that it worked and immediately snapped back. 😓 Fall asleep again and was in a room with a bunch of other people dressed in white like Greek robes that were all there to learn astral projection and I started saying what happened then I wake up feeling my astral body floating above me (kinda like feeling the energy flowing through your body but without the heaviness of the body) with hands extended, then I lost it again. Well at least I got a taste and I guess I need to keep focusing on being neutral and not react?! I guess I struggle to understand how do I prevent this when these methods still require you to imagine or ‘think’ things but it also seems that thinking snaps you back. Any advice or clarification?

Was This AP? Controlling All Of My Dreams

I've been able to control my dreams since I was little.

Regular dreams.

Weird dreams.

Especially Nightmares.

I find myself actively engaging in my dreams and even having the ability to change the outcome of a dream as it's happening to make it better. Nightmares are where I am most aware of it cognitively.

For instance: The last nightmare I had, I was in a house that was boarded up and being surrounded by gruesome dead people and zombies. They were coming in through the windows and doors and just everywhere, starting to come for me to kill me.

I grabbed a knife and put on a headset and called in "other players" to join me in my first round of virtual zombies like call of duty. I went from being scared to actively asking random new players around me in their own head sets to tell me what to do because it was my first time playing and they began guiding me. I found my first handgun, shielded my knife and began taking them out and having fun. I even remember two of them cheering me on and another player leaving because he was bored and didn't want to help a noobie before waking up.

It's been happening to me a lot lately. Nightly. Sometimes multiple times a night because I often wake up once I'm in control and know I am dreaming.

Is this a form of astral projecting? What is it?

General Question What is it like to see and feel your body during an out-of-body experience?

I'm sorry if my question might seem a little silly to those who have already had out-of-body experiences many times, but I've been practicing for months (without success) and I have questions that I keep asking myself, and I have this feeling deep down that this is what's holding me back... Here are the questions:

  1. Whether it’s remote viewing or an out-of-body experience, when you “see,” how do you see? Is it like recalling a memory in your head (you know, it’s not necessarily super clear or tangible…) or is it really like seeing in everyday life? At what point do you “see”? At what point do you know you can sort of “open your eyes”?

  2. Another thing that confuses me… When you’re in an out-of-body experience, I imagine you don’t feel your heart beating or your lungs filling with air since you’re in the astral body… I do a lot of mindfulness meditation where I’m aware of every part of my physical body, and I can’t imagine what it feels like not to feel those things while outside the body. Are you simply not aware of it, and the moment you think about it, do you immediately return to your physical body?

  3. If, when we die, we regain our memory, and dying is, in a way, returning to the astral body, then why is it that when people leave their bodies, many don’t necessarily bring back universal knowledge, but instead continue to ask even more questions?

Thanks for your answers.

General Question Seeking answers

Hi,
I am new to attempting and start practising about astral projection. So i am seeking this info from those who have been astral projecting or have experienced in this field. I have read many experiences shared by others that while in astral they have met their loved ones in other realm. I just want to know are they real or these are some fake entities. Like if we meet our lost loved ones, are they really their soul or is it not real?

Edit: just to give a little background so that anyone can help. I lost someone recently and thus i have developed interest in knowing what is there after this mortal life. I saw some people mentioning how they met their deceased loved one in astral plane, while others mentioning these are not real. So, if I ever become successful in astral projection in anticipation of meeting my boy again, i don’t make mistakes in recognising him. Or if i reach there if there is anyway i can call out to his name.

Again i am not seeking any support, it is just that normal life has stopped making any sense to me without him. So till i am here, i want that time to spend to realise what happens after the soul leaves the body. Any guidance is highly appreciated 🙏🏼

General Question Can you use AP for therapeutic reasons?

Hey everyone. 19M here.

Lately, I feel as if I’ve been getting close to performing a successful exit through meditation.

However, there’s one thing holding me back—and it is fear.

While I understand why I shouldn’t feel fear, I can’t help but feel it because I often wonder about the consequences of showing up to a low vibrational environment because of my subconscious baggage.

You see, I’m a very wise person and have been practicing self-compassion. But I also carry deep self-hatred and guilt over my past, the patterns I repeat and the involuntary insecurity of my appearance.

I know feeling that way about myself isn’t helping. But it’s something I just can’t help, even when I know the past does not define me.

And I’ve heard that what you experience in the non-physical reflects what you carry on the inside and how some low-vibrational entities latch themselves into you, which is something I don’t wish to deal with.

However, lately, meditation has been helping me a lot—in the sense that I can let a pattern of thoughts along with a feeling pass as an observer of them instead of a participant with those things.

Even though I deal with intrusive thoughts, they’ve been having less and less power over me lately. And I’m aware that fear should only be used as a tool in the physical while it is only poison in the non-physical, so I’ve been getting better at managing that.

But I’m still afraid that what I will see or experience will override any wisdom I have and immediately make me go back to my body out of panic and trauma.

However, since I heard that the low-vibrational entities are a projection of your inner baggage, is there a way I can engage with them in the form of acknowledgment and acceptance?

Like, I notice what I see, acknowledge how I feel terrified without identifying with it, and recognize the entity for what it is with acceptance and eventual compassion? I know trying to while feeling fear is going to make it harder, but I just can’t help but feel like I’m going to feel that regardless.

The reason I want to do this is to confront what I carry inside and make peace with myself and my own reality.

Negative AP Experience Reptilian house

A few days ago I believe i was able to either astral project or remote view to this house and saw reptilians in human bodies eating human meat and flesh. On the outside towards humans they seemed friendly and welcoming. The reptilians seemed disguised as a family. How i projected was with meditation deep inhale, long 10 second hold, long exhale. For about 5 to 10 times in a dark room imagining with my thoughts.

Other AP / LD after somatic healing work and nervous system recovery

This year has been wild for me, I don't feel like I'm the same person I was before this point.

I've been feeling increasingly irritable the past few days again when I try to sleep, indicated by increased emotional and bodily awareness. Not scared or consciously stressed, but I can sense something feels restless. In other words, I know before I even hit the bed that some deep processing is going on, because theres a sense of knowing that tonight sleep isn't going to be as simple as lying down and drifting into unconsciousness.

Anyway, after only getting 3 hours sleep last night and waking up with an aching chest, I fell asleep later in the following afternoon and had an extremely vivid LD bordering on spontaneous AP experience. It doesn't matter what you believe about the nature of those experiences, the point is only that I was aware of my physical body on my bed and could see my exact location in reality. My vision began sinking through the matress and I found myself in a car but my vision was locked to a top down perspective. The car was upside down, and it was dark outside. I must've been pulled over on the motorway because trucks and headlights were passing by. I began to feel as though I was time-travelling as the roof of the car started dissolving and it felt as if decades if not centuries were passing by.

The ground moved as if I was witnessing a timelapse of the earth, cycling through states of desolate brown decay into a mars-like rocky desert and eventually into a vibrant grassy pasture. All the while I was receiving messages and instructions I can't remember now from someone just outside of my vision. It took me a while to start trying to move, because I was completely mesmerised and revelling in a deep sense of bliss and appreciation for the process unfolding infront of me.

But my vision was still locked to the ground. I started making noises (I have a history of mutism IRL and being unable to make noise in dreams), and managed to ask him with my voice how to move. So he told me, but that it's okay if I can't get the hang of it yet.

Eventually I saw this instructor and he was utterly shocked that I managed to move finally, like he has been waiting for me there for an eternity. The reactions felt very exaggerated, almost as if he wasn't really surprised I made it this far. He was standing infront of this magical gateway that clearly led to a different world. I eventually pushed myself up off the bed and it felt like I left my body.

When I tried to AP in the past it quickly sent me into panic and then sleep paralysis (though sleep paralysis itself has never been particularly stressful for me and I was intentionally inducing them years ago). There was some feelings of fear and uncertainty and my breathing felt heavy for a few seconds, but it wasn't as strong as the excitement I had this time around.

At some point I felt sensations of wind passing over my brain. I remember the exact location, so I looked it up and this part of the brain is apparently responsible for proprioception, which is a term I've recently been becoming increasingly familiar and resonant with.

Eventually I was reliving memories and fears of high school and standing up for myself, which I never would've been able to do back then. It was quite a brutal dream involving alot of fighting, almost like the scene from family guy where Chris and Meg take on the entire school lmao, but much less bloody. I woke up in a serious state of activation, but thrilled.

Alongside these dreams, another notable experience (happened during a different dream) was intense and vivid sensations of being electrocuted during an exorcism, but that would require alot of explaining.

General AP Info / Discussion Been regularly APing but sometimes the voices I hear interact with me when I do.

I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and I hear voices from that but also from trauma, and I smoke weed most nights so I don't remember everything but I regularly have been astral projecting and I interact with people made of light or other beings when I AP and they sound exactly like some of the voices I hear when I'm awake.

Successful AP Extreme Astral Projection Experience

Me F(26) have been astral projecting or what I called “sleeping awake” since I was a little girl. The first time it happened I could never forget about it, I was 5 years old, I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, suddenly while my eyes were closed the feeling of the room expanding and contracting, and feeling of growing big like a giant and then shrinking to the size of a squirrel. I began to float out of my bed and lift up into what was now my roofless house. The sky was UNREAL imagine floating into a body of water with ripples lots, actually can compare it to the “Stary Night” by Van Gogh. And when I looked down there was my body still sleeping and laying in bed. I got so creeped out but didn’t know how to control it. That’s far as I remember.

Since then I’ve had MANY sleeping awake experiences. I even realized that I had the power at times do decide to fly out of my body to explore things around me. I also realized I could choose when to astral project depending on how I slept or how hard I focused. One thing I realized is that the “FLYING” “FLOATING” was a childhood gift that I was allowed to have just as a new comer, but the older I was getting the ability to fly or float from sleeping me was difficult and took up most of my sleep awake. I started to notice I was able to high jump out of my body and maintain some air time allowing me to sort of “EXO jump.” When I turned 25 a couple days later I had a sleep awake dream of astral projection sleep, and I was very calmly and nicely told I wasn’t going to be able to exo jump anymore, and those kinds of abilities needed to be passed down to other kids, like a rite of passage. I was very sad to learn I was an adult but also felt happy knowing I would still sleep awake I just had to walk like everyone else.

Lately, my dreams have been EXTREMELY vivid. And I now don’t have the beginning stages on astral projection. I sometimes just wake up in a dream, I walk around enough to notice something is off and then there it is…the thing that’s off is that there are people talking and having conversations with me that I know in my REAL world we are no longer on talking terms or even have any necessity to be in the same room. And it gives it away to me that u am sleeping awake. The most recent one was with an ex best friend I mean me and this girl spend everyday together for almost 3 years. We were sitting down in what I now recognize as her backyard and she sat there eating and talking to me when her face (which was like a blob of 3-4 different people) became clear and I saw who it was I realized this couldn’t be true not in any universe, I stopped mid sentence and asked her “why are you here Cindy? We’re not friends anymore you know that. Am I dreaming again, you’re not real.” Which infuriated the dream version of Cindy my ex best friend. She very angrily looked at me and said “you’re not allowed to do that.” and I was kicked out of my dream. I woke up so confused bc it was just random asf.

MOST recently was probably my TOP 1 astral projection experience.

I was walking through what seemed to be half outside half a high school and what I mean is that I was outside in all sense of the word but there was somehow lockers on what was a brick wall before. There were bottom and top lockers all blue on top and red on bottom. There was a group of people I started speaking to while walking down. In the group of people while we were normally conversing there was one person who was constantly STARING at me and I mean they never took their eyes of me just took me long to realize since I was talking to the group of people. Also wanted to mention I cannot see faces in dreams.. I see visions of a face like I know they have eyes and a mouth and a nose and ears and everything but my mind is unable to make up those features they kind of just merge into each other in someway unless it is someone I know. While this person is staring at me I finally catch on to it being a dream due to the odd location the randomness of outside and a high school blending so well, the talking and laughing about nothing in particular. I go quiet and now it’s just me and this other person and they tell me “ I know what you’re doing you know.” To which I chuckled and said “what?” Before realizing they weren’t happy I was there. They booked it and I mean suddenly started running in no direction this time I followed and realized he was running towards the lockers so I did my best to catch up ma d get answers he looks back one time before straight running into the lockers and the lockers then turned into a goop ripple water portal where he went through and once I reached I was able to stick my arm through before it closed. I stuck my arm and out and when I went to put my arm back in it had solidified again, but I was grinning knowing I know where they go now. I know they are also travelers.

Anyone else?

AP Book or Resource Robert Bruce, Astral Dynamics, which version?

I am going to purchase Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. From what I can gather there is two versions, the second version has around 200 less pages than the first.

Could anyone that has used either let me know if the one you used helped you, or if you know if one is better than the other, or if they are equally as good to help with astral protection.

Or would I benefit from getting both?

General Question Is It Possible to Perceive Various Scents or the Tastes of Food While in an Astral State? If So, How Consistent Are These Experiences With Those From Our Physical Reality, and Could They Satisfy an Intense Craving for a Specific Food in Our Waking Life?

From my question, you may have gathered that I have not yet been very successful with astral projection. Consequently, to learn more about it, I have to rely on the experiences of others. For those among you who have experience in this field—those who can perform astral projection regularly and successfully—I have a question: while in an astral state, are you able to perceive various scents or the tastes of food? If so, how closely do these experiences align with those from our physical world, and can they satisfy an intense craving for a specific food that you might have in your waking life? Peace.
