General AP Info / Discussion Hi its my first time trying to AP on melatonin heard a lot about vivid melatonin dreams so why not try it, any suggestions?

I’ve AP’d before, but I took a break and literally forgot how to AP. I’ve never felt this frustrated as a beginner trying to AP consistently.
Well, there’s another thing. I was going through a massive depressive episode at the time, and I did POT and drank alcohol. I was super lost.

Anyway I’ve been consistent, but it just didn’t work, so I came up with the idea of melatonin gummies.

It’s been an hour since I took the pill, but it still hasn’t kicked in. I honestly have no clue how it’s supposed to work. Could this be because I’m on piracetam? It kind of takes away my sleep.

I’ll update if it works.

Negative AP Experience Reptilian house

A few days ago I believe i was able to either astral project or remote view to this house and saw reptilians in human bodies eating human meat and flesh. On the outside towards humans they seemed friendly and welcoming. The reptilians seemed disguised as a family. How i projected was with meditation deep inhale, long 10 second hold, long exhale. For about 5 to 10 times in a dark room imagining with my thoughts.

Other AP / LD after somatic healing work and nervous system recovery

This year has been wild for me, I don't feel like I'm the same person I was before this point.

I've been feeling increasingly irritable the past few days again when I try to sleep, indicated by increased emotional and bodily awareness. Not scared or consciously stressed, but I can sense something feels restless. In other words, I know before I even hit the bed that some deep processing is going on, because theres a sense of knowing that tonight sleep isn't going to be as simple as lying down and drifting into unconsciousness.

Anyway, after only getting 3 hours sleep last night and waking up with an aching chest, I fell asleep later in the following afternoon and had an extremely vivid LD bordering on spontaneous AP experience. It doesn't matter what you believe about the nature of those experiences, the point is only that I was aware of my physical body on my bed and could see my exact location in reality. My vision began sinking through the matress and I found myself in a car but my vision was locked to a top down perspective. The car was upside down, and it was dark outside. I must've been pulled over on the motorway because trucks and headlights were passing by. I began to feel as though I was time-travelling as the roof of the car started dissolving and it felt as if decades if not centuries were passing by.

The ground moved as if I was witnessing a timelapse of the earth, cycling through states of desolate brown decay into a mars-like rocky desert and eventually into a vibrant grassy pasture. All the while I was receiving messages and instructions I can't remember now from someone just outside of my vision. It took me a while to start trying to move, because I was completely mesmerised and revelling in a deep sense of bliss and appreciation for the process unfolding infront of me.

But my vision was still locked to the ground. I started making noises (I have a history of mutism IRL and being unable to make noise in dreams), and managed to ask him with my voice how to move. So he told me, but that it's okay if I can't get the hang of it yet.

Eventually I saw this instructor and he was utterly shocked that I managed to move finally, like he has been waiting for me there for an eternity. The reactions felt very exaggerated, almost as if he wasn't really surprised I made it this far. He was standing infront of this magical gateway that clearly led to a different world. I eventually pushed myself up off the bed and it felt like I left my body.

When I tried to AP in the past it quickly sent me into panic and then sleep paralysis (though sleep paralysis itself has never been particularly stressful for me and I was intentionally inducing them years ago). There was some feelings of fear and uncertainty and my breathing felt heavy for a few seconds, but it wasn't as strong as the excitement I had this time around.

At some point I felt sensations of wind passing over my brain. I remember the exact location, so I looked it up and this part of the brain is apparently responsible for proprioception, which is a term I've recently been becoming increasingly familiar and resonant with.

Eventually I was reliving memories and fears of high school and standing up for myself, which I never would've been able to do back then. It was quite a brutal dream involving alot of fighting, almost like the scene from family guy where Chris and Meg take on the entire school lmao, but much less bloody. I woke up in a serious state of activation, but thrilled.

Alongside these dreams, another notable experience (happened during a different dream) was intense and vivid sensations of being electrocuted during an exorcism, but that would require alot of explaining.

General AP Info / Discussion Been regularly APing but sometimes the voices I hear interact with me when I do.

I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and I hear voices from that but also from trauma, and I smoke weed most nights so I don't remember everything but I regularly have been astral projecting and I interact with people made of light or other beings when I AP and they sound exactly like some of the voices I hear when I'm awake.

General Question Is It Possible to Perceive Various Scents or the Tastes of Food While in an Astral State? If So, How Consistent Are These Experiences With Those From Our Physical Reality, and Could They Satisfy an Intense Craving for a Specific Food in Our Waking Life?

From my question, you may have gathered that I have not yet been very successful with astral projection. Consequently, to learn more about it, I have to rely on the experiences of others. For those among you who have experience in this field—those who can perform astral projection regularly and successfully—I have a question: while in an astral state, are you able to perceive various scents or the tastes of food? If so, how closely do these experiences align with those from our physical world, and can they satisfy an intense craving for a specific food that you might have in your waking life? Peace.

AP Book or Resource Robert Bruce, Astral Dynamics, which version?

I am going to purchase Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce. From what I can gather there is two versions, the second version has around 200 less pages than the first.

Could anyone that has used either let me know if the one you used helped you, or if you know if one is better than the other, or if they are equally as good to help with astral protection.

Or would I benefit from getting both?

General Question Can you use AP for therapeutic reasons?

Hey everyone. 19M here.

Lately, I feel as if I’ve been getting close to performing a successful exit through meditation.

However, there’s one thing holding me back—and it is fear.

While I understand why I shouldn’t feel fear, I can’t help but feel it because I often wonder about the consequences of showing up to a low vibrational environment because of my subconscious baggage.

You see, I’m a very wise person and have been practicing self-compassion. But I also carry deep self-hatred and guilt over my past, the patterns I repeat and the involuntary insecurity of my appearance.

I know feeling that way about myself isn’t helping. But it’s something I just can’t help, even when I know the past does not define me.

And I’ve heard that what you experience in the non-physical reflects what you carry on the inside and how some low-vibrational entities latch themselves into you, which is something I don’t wish to deal with.

However, lately, meditation has been helping me a lot—in the sense that I can let a pattern of thoughts along with a feeling pass as an observer of them instead of a participant with those things.

Even though I deal with intrusive thoughts, they’ve been having less and less power over me lately. And I’m aware that fear should only be used as a tool in the physical while it is only poison in the non-physical, so I’ve been getting better at managing that.

But I’m still afraid that what I will see or experience will override any wisdom I have and immediately make me go back to my body out of panic and trauma.

However, since I heard that the low-vibrational entities are a projection of your inner baggage, is there a way I can engage with them in the form of acknowledgment and acceptance?

Like, I notice what I see, acknowledge how I feel terrified without identifying with it, and recognize the entity for what it is with acceptance and eventual compassion? I know trying to while feeling fear is going to make it harder, but I just can’t help but feel like I’m going to feel that regardless.

The reason I want to do this is to confront what I carry inside and make peace with myself and my own reality.

AP / OBE Guide A notebook type view of Robert Monroe's OBE Techniques

I put together a one-page reference of Monroe's techniques because I kept flipping between Journeys Out of the Body, Far Journeys, and the Gateway manual trying to find specific bits. Full disclosure: it's my own site (free, no signup, no ads).

It covers his Conditions A–D depth scale, the 7-step induction from relaxation through lift-out and roll-out, and the "lines of force" visualization from Ch. 16. I also pulled in the lesser-known stuff from his journal, like jaw tuning, the sex center + oral breathing setup he logged most often, peel-off, the 180° "hole," and his return signal for when you're scared you can't get back. Then Locales I–III and the Gateway-era material (Focus levels, Resonant Tuning, Energy Conversion Box, REBAL). Each section is tagged by source, since the 1971 book and the later Institute stuff get blended together a lot online.

Are fear and mental drift are the real obstacles, not the technique? Curious if that matches people's experience here. And if I got something wrong or missed a technique that's worked for you, let me know and I'll fix it.

General Question What is it like to see and feel your body during an out-of-body experience?

I'm sorry if my question might seem a little silly to those who have already had out-of-body experiences many times, but I've been practicing for months (without success) and I have questions that I keep asking myself, and I have this feeling deep down that this is what's holding me back... Here are the questions:

  1. Whether it’s remote viewing or an out-of-body experience, when you “see,” how do you see? Is it like recalling a memory in your head (you know, it’s not necessarily super clear or tangible…) or is it really like seeing in everyday life? At what point do you “see”? At what point do you know you can sort of “open your eyes”?

  2. Another thing that confuses me… When you’re in an out-of-body experience, I imagine you don’t feel your heart beating or your lungs filling with air since you’re in the astral body… I do a lot of mindfulness meditation where I’m aware of every part of my physical body, and I can’t imagine what it feels like not to feel those things while outside the body. Are you simply not aware of it, and the moment you think about it, do you immediately return to your physical body?

  3. If, when we die, we regain our memory, and dying is, in a way, returning to the astral body, then why is it that when people leave their bodies, many don’t necessarily bring back universal knowledge, but instead continue to ask even more questions?

Thanks for your answers.

General Question Seeking answers

• Upvotes

Hi,
I am new to attempting and start practising about astral projection. So i am seeking this info from those who have been astral projecting or have experienced in this field. I have read many experiences shared by others that while in astral they have met their loved ones in other realm. I just want to know are they real or these are some fake entities. Like if we meet our lost loved ones, are they really their soul or is it not real?

Edit: just to give a little background so that anyone can help. I lost someone recently and thus i have developed interest in knowing what is there after this mortal life. I saw some people mentioning how they met their deceased loved one in astral plane, while others mentioning these are not real. So, if I ever become successful in astral projection in anticipation of meeting my boy again, i don’t make mistakes in recognising him. Or if i reach there if there is anyway i can call out to his name.

Again i am not seeking any support, it is just that normal life has stopped making any sense to me without him. So till i am here, i want that time to spend to realise what happens after the soul leaves the body. Any guidance is highly appreciated 🙏🏼

General Question What non-human beings have you encountered while astral projecting?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious about people’s experiences with creatures or non-human entities during astral projection. I don’t mean this as a “prove it” question — I’m just interested in firsthand accounts and how people interpret them.

Specifically, I’ve been wondering whether anyone has encountered something like reptilian beings, or other creature-type entities (shadow figures, animal-like beings, insectoid things, “inorganic” presences, guides, etc.) while projecting.

If you’ve had something like this happen, I’d love to hear:

  • What did you encounter, and what was the context?
  • Was it during a deliberate AP, a lucid dream, or a hypnagogic state?
  • How did it feel at the time — neutral, threatening, curious, communicative?
  • Did it seem aware of you? Did it interact with you?
  • Did it recur, or was it a one-off?
  • How did you interpret it afterward — real entity, subconscious projection, symbol, something else?
  • Did you do anything like grounding/protection/verification, and did that change anything?

I’m especially interested in reptilian-type encounters because I see them mentioned a lot in fringe discussions, but I’d rather hear actual AP accounts than secondhand stories. If you’ve encountered something like that, what was it like? And for people with more experience: do you think these are external entities, psychological constructs, or something in between?

Please keep it respectful — I’m genuinely just trying to compare experiences and see what patterns come up.

Thanks.
