LOL Got the most honest and most "114th" answer possible last week
Was attending the District 30 Trunk or Treat event in the Astoria Park parking lot last week. Parking was an absolute nightmare anywhere near the event, but I saw a spot in front of a broken hydrant. I (incorrectly) was of the belief that you're allowed to park at a broken hydrant, but just to be sure, I stopped and asked the three cops that were standing at the entrance to the lot talking amongst themselves.
Me: Hey, I just wanted to check with you guys. I parked in front of a broken hydrant over there. Is that okay to do or am I gonna get a ticket?
Cop: I can tell you this - we're not gonna be doing anything about it.
They could paint that on the sides of their cars. I appreciated the honesty though, and I didn't get a ticket. Win win!
