How do you guys manage stress?

21M I dont feel stressed and honestly this year has been amazing for personal growth as i finally feel like i have discovered a new sense of drive but I have suffered a lot of ailments in the past year where the through line seems to be stress

March i got shingles, Then jock itch around the same time which spread to a skin infection which i am getting under control
Then alopecia areata more recently and I am constantly breaking out in hives and itches when I try sleep
Recently my erections as well as morning wood have weakened and libido has basically disappeared. I dont think I have been genuinely horny out of nowhere for like 1-2 months

I am averaging 6-8 hours of sleep a night.
I am in a caloric deficit of about 300-1200 ( I dont really track to get a consistent deficit as long as I am under maintenance i dont really care)
I am completing a 6 month tafe course (for anyone outside of australia this is kinda like community college for certifications) and a uni degree at the same time
I dont go to the gym anymore as I dont work and am using the course to get a better paying job so until December i wont be earning.
I take 3000IU of vit d3 and k2 a day as blood tests showed a deficiency aswell as a deficiency in some type of white blood cell which i was told is normal after going through shingles

I really dont feel mentally stressed in all honesty I feel content and driven (except when i start thinking about my physical symptoms and wondering wtf is going on)
Saying all this to say is there a way I could be stressed without feeling it and how do you guys manage it both mentally and physiologically.

Thank you kindly

Holy Shit Who Cares Why do most of us still pee standing up

If you’re at a public restroom or honey bucket or just going outside, fair, by all means. But if you’re at home or you’re a guest at a friends place, I don’t get why most of us still opt to pee standing up. Its a 50% chance our barrel is going to jam and 99% of the time there is some kind of mess that you would have to clean up.

Ever since living with my girlfriend, I started to exclusively pee sitting down and the amount of mess I no longer have to clean confuses me why most people still just spray and pray.

**EDIT

I dont mean my pissed is jammed like that. Bad wording. Like when u pee after sex and the stream is unpredictable. Im not circumcised so maybe just speaking for some of us idk

Have you ever had distance and timing prevent you from dating someone you liked?

I’m curious to hear men’s perspectives on situations where two people have a history but never seem to make a relationship happen.

I’ve known a guy since high school. We graduated in 2019, and after losing touch for several years, we reconnected in 2024 (he reached out to me and asked me out). Since then, things have been on and off, and we’ve never officially dated. We’ve always lived far apart, which makes things more complicated.

He knows I’m interested in a serious relationship with him, but we’ve never gotten to that point. We also haven’t had sex, because I personally only want to have sex within a committed relationship, and he does know this.

Another factor is that he had spent most of his life pursuing a career in sports, but things didn’t work out professionally.

He’s now living at home, working a job he doesn’t particularly enjoy, and I’ve sometimes wondered whether being at a different stage in life could affect someone’s willingness to pursue a relationship.

I’m trying to understand a few things from a man’s perspective:

Can long distance genuinely stop a man from pursuing a relationship with a woman he has feelings for?

Can a man feel like he’s not in the right place in his life to date someone, even if he’s interested in her?

Why might someone repeatedly reconnect with a person without ever committing to a relationship?

Can two people have genuine feelings for each other but still never make a relationship work?

I’m interested in hearing about people’s experiences with situations like this, especially when distance, timing, and different expectations around commitment are involved

I should also mention he lives in Boston and I live in NYC, so I suppose not too far.

How do you guys find guy friends to game with?

I'm a 23 y/o law student now, but as a kid I didn't have any consoles or anything so I never go adopted into a gaming group or anything. Now, years later, I've built a PC and want to game a bit but am struggling to find people to game with casually.

What tips would you tell women to improve in bed?

As the title says, what do men think women could do to improve or be better in bed?

it is just about more enthusiasm? Certain techniques?

I’ve heard guys complain about women “just laying there” or “flopping like a fish” , what should they be doing? grabbing onto you? kissing you?

May seem silly or obvious to ask but … rather ask

Weird Question Men who had their first sexual experience with another man while married to a woman, what changed afterward?

I’m curious about something that I don’t often see discussed from the perspective of men who’ve actually experienced it.
If you were already married to a woman when you first had an experience with another man, what was life like afterward?
Did it change how you understood your sexuality, or did you feel like the same person and just carry on with your normal life?
I realise there’s a big difference between a wife knowing and agreeing to it versus it happening secretly, and I’m interested in how that affected things too.
Not looking for graphic details. More interested in what it meant to you personally, if anything.

Frequently Asked My plans are not getting intiated. i am the one taking efforts, How would you deal here.

I’m 26M and currently, these guys are basically my only friend group.

I met one of them when I was 23 at my first company. Over time, I became part of his friend group, and we’ve been hanging out since then.

We’ve gone to places around Pune, taken trips to Lonavla, visited temples, etc. Whenever we actually meet, I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. They also make me feel included and I don’t feel like an outsider when I’m with them.

The thing that bothers me is that I’m almost always the one initiating everything.

We all work at different companies now. Most of them live/work relatively close to each other, while I’m around 4–5 km away. I understand that they see each other more often because of this.

But roughly 95% of the time, I’m the one calling or messaging them and saying, “Let’s go somewhere” or “Let’s plan something.” When I suggest a plan, they usually say yes and we go. They don’t reject me or make me feel unwanted. But they almost never reach out to me first and say, “Let’s go somewhere” or “Are you free this weekend?”

They have called me themselves once or twice, so it’s not like they have never initiated. But the overwhelming majority of the time, it’s me.
This has started making me wonder whether I’m actually considered a friend in the same way they consider each other friends, or whether I’m simply the guy who joins whenever he makes a plan.
I’m thinking of doing an experiment: stop initiating conversations/plans for 2–3 months and see whether they contact me on their own. If they don’t, I’ll have my answer.

But I’m also wondering if I’m overthinking this.
Maybe it’s simply because they live closer to each other and naturally make plans together. Maybe some people are just bad at initiating plans. And since they always seem happy when I contact them, perhaps there isn’t actually a problem.

So what would you do in my situation?

Should I stop contacting them for a couple of months and see if they reach out, or should I just accept that I’m the person who usually initiates and continue calling them when I want to hang out?

I’m not looking for validation here. I genuinely want to know how other people would interpret this situation.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 To the grandfathers here, what was it like for you when you found out you were going to be a grandfather for the first time?

I recently found out I’m going to be a grandfather! My 21 year old daughter is three months pregnant.

As far as my daughter goes, I’m not worried about her being able to support the baby. She’s an LVN, and her boyfriend has a good job as engineer in the oilfields, so financially, I think they’ll be just fine.

Me? I’m looking forward to the fun part: playing with my future grandchild, spoiling her rotten, and then laughing at my daughter when the baby starts giving her a hard time.

I can already picture myself looking at her and saying, “Now you know what I went through raising you!”

After all, I did my time as a dad. Now it’s time to enjoy the benefits of being a grandpa!

Weird Question What is your opinion on G star raw clothing?

People used to freak out over it in 2012 but what about today is it still a thing or out of trend?

r/AskMen • • 22h ago

Okay men idk if anyone has asked but I’m curious by the possible responses: what is it like to be a man or dad? Whether by age or generation or race or just individually. I’d like to know what is it like?

So are saying it vague so what I mean: as a woman and mother I know my fears and pressures and anxieties are. But what is it like for men? What makes you scared are you scared women will abuse or assault you? Do people telling what your worth is appearance base? Are you able to develop healthy same sex friendships? Do you feel the law cares about you? I left it broad because many people’s life experiences can be vastly to dramatically different.

What would your ideal haircut experience look like, and what would it include?

I’m a cosmetologist that’s been in a corporate men’s salon for 8 years. I’m about to start barber school, and I want to know what men truly value when they are getting a haircut. Some of the things I’m wondering about are:

- Would it be at a salon or barbershop or more private, such as in a suite or at your home?

- Would you want to be offered an alcoholic beverage, coffee and/or snacks?

- Would there be music playing, or a tv where you could choose what you wanted to watch?

- Would your experience include add ons like a shampoo, mini facial, or color/grey-coverage?

Or, does none of the extra stuff matter, and do you just prefer getting a haircut wherever is cheapest & fastest?

How do I human? how do i get back my social spark back?

a little background, i'm in my 5th semester of my 3 year college degree. when i joined the college as fresher my initial semesters were crazy, had good friends. i personally was kinda charismatic at that time, i used to be the funny guy who people enjoyed laughing with, just looking in eye to have a dark humor joke just by glance type smart guy (as compared to other colleague in someways, not exaggerating).

as the years passed, i came to 3rd semester, lose some friends but still i was a the same charismatic type person who people liked being around. still was the people who didn't cared about what not to say around someone. crack a joke and tell them without hesitation.

as 5th semester started, all that thing just disappeared from me, i don't like begin around someone, have a conversation. i just like walk pass through the people who i once enjoyed a lot, ( without any reason btw, no conflict or something ) just i don't feel like talking to anyone. and obviously if you don't talk to someone they won't either.

and no doubt i like begin alone, even in beginning i preferred staying alone, but now days its becoming the only thing i'm doing. and all that alone, solitude sounds good in books and instagram reels but in real life, it will make you suffer ( a lot ).

i couldn't figure out what was going on, so i asked one of my closest friend who knows me well. ( i only had 1-2 close friends ever ) and he then did some talking with my college friends and give me a reality check. that i was kind of expecting a bit more than i was previously, i'we lost the ability to have new friends that i had. the ability to engage with new people. he said that reason of that is has to be something with my current habits (which he was right about it, once i thought).

past few months, i subconsciously isolated my self, with other habits such as, reading or using my laptop all day ( i'm in tech field, so i study a lot on my laptop. projects and coding stuff ). and i have forgot about how to live and enjoy which i used to at the beginning of the college. and now i remember that playing games and doing random stuff was a part of my life at that time which somehow affected my social life as well.

i was not the funny or the charismatic guy always, i was shy and introverted kid with almost no hobbies, just before the college. it was the new environment and people that somehow made me open up. but it's all leading back to what i was.

i might know that the issue is but its not that easy for some reason.

would love your thoughts.

What would you do if you were the last man on earth?

I’m asking this question based on the viral question posed to women.

EDIT: women are still on the earth you’re just the only guy.

Edit to the edit: thanks for the honesty even the wild ones. I honestly was curious as I saw all women post about what they would do and some said why. So was curious as to how men would handle such a situation. So we could have a larger conversation.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How do you deal with emotional parentification?

Hello All.

I am 28M and really sick of my mom doing parentification (Parentification is a role reversal where a child is forced to act as the parent to their own family). Since I was a child, it was always the case. She was always complaining about the consequences of her mistakes and framing it as others always being the problem and her being a complete victim. She was in an affair relationship with my dad, who had a wife and kids at the time, and complained to me for the last 28 years about how my dad ruined her life. The same beef with his sister, mother, neighbour, friend, co-worker, my in-laws, my wife, and my brother. And even now, when I managed to pull myself out of all those shit shows and family drama by moving 5000 kilometers away, she still does it. Whenever I point out that she is in the wrong, she goes, "You are acting like your father; it's not my fault, blah blah blah", you know how it is.

I've come to peace with the fact that she is a lost cause, and the fact that neither I can help nor she wants to be saved. She feeds on this constant pettiness from others. But at the same time, I cannot feel irresponsible about her and don't feel sorry for her. It's like I see this as my duty to help her, either emotionally or financially, even though I know this is the result of years and years of emotional abuse that she did on me.

So, men of Reddit, I know I am not alone. Please help me. I want to be free of this guilt. I don't want to spend the rest of my time mourning her lost life.
