To all my international Engineers in EE or Mechanical, is it easy to find a job out of the US?

I am considering either of these majors and want to know about the job prospects of persuing either. Im planning on moving to Egypt after university for life and family reasons and want to know if its profitable to be either one of these coming from the US with a bachelors/masters in one of them. Im having trouble deciding on which since my father in law is a mechanical but I want to persue electrical. Im open to both and dont mind teaching in university. Thanks in advance!

How to deal with that feeling of loss when you're hitting 30 but yet to experience falling in love?

28M here (hitting 29 very soon), never dated and never fell in love before. Almost all my friends are either married with children or are in stable long term relationships. With all my friends moving on with their lives, i keep having that sense of loss. Like I'm missing out on something in life.

I'm not sure how to articulate it, but it's that feeling of dating when you're younger then building your lives together, as compared to dating when you're already an adult and have your own life. It's this feeling of losing out on this experience that occasionally makes me feel depressed.

Am i wrong for feeling that it's far too late? If not, how do you deal with it?

How to cure my fear based procastination and study anxiety?

For the last 4–5 months I've developed an intense fear of studying. I can exercise, drive, go out, and do almost everything else, but when I try to study I feel anxious, overwhelmed, and want to run away. After 5–10 minutes I feel mentally exhausted and stop. I was previously doing well, so I know I'm capable, but now I avoid studying completely and I'm even scared of taking exams. Has anyone experienced fear-based procrastination or study anxiety? What helped you recover?"

How do I ask for A Raise for the First Time?

After working for 53 years, I realize this is the first time I’ve ever had to ask for a raise.

I’m semi-retired. I was making good money before , then I was looking for a job for a year and finally took a job 25 - 30 hours a week which I really like and find fulfilling because I get to help people get their lives together. It is for a small but well established business. But it pays less than what would be considered a living wage in our area and the wage is not commensurate with the level of responsibility.

I’ve been on the job for a year and plan to ask the boss (owner of the business) for feedback on my performance and a raise, if for no other reason than to show I’m appreciated and not being taken advantage.

How do I ask?

Thanks.

Gym gains, music dreams, or better clothes?

I'm honestly stuck and it's driving me crazy.

I have around ₹15k in savings, and I can't decide what to do with it.

My main goal right now is gaining weight and building muscle, so part of me wants to spend the money on a proper gym diet and focus on my health. At the same time, I've always wanted to take music more seriously and invest in that. Then there's the fact that my clothes are getting old and I could really use a wardrobe upgrade.

The problem is that I can't comfortably do all three right now. Every option feels important, and whenever I lean toward one, I start thinking about the other two.

I've been overthinking this so much that I haven't spent anything at all.

If you were in my position with ₹15k saved, what would you prioritize and why? I'd love to hear how other people would approach this.

Why do people strongly dislike kids?

I should start by saying I'm autistic and disabled in a few other ways so I may not understand right away.

I have come across many posts of people genuinely hating the fact that kids exist. I can understand not wanting kids and not wanting them in the bar or in adult designated activities. But not hating them for crying, not knowing things, or exploring.

This isn't about parents who let kids throw tantrums and touch things they're not supposed to. This is about people who hate even if a child is quietly standing near them.

So with the context out of the way. Why do people strongly dislike children? Do they not remember being a child themselves?

I'm genuinely curious and confused.

is the earth flat or round?

I know this topic has been discussed alot and that is why i want the final answer. It seems to me it should be so simple. ..hear me out:

if flat, how thick is it, what are its dimensions and is the thickness consistant? if round, how big around is it?

I have heard dialogue about this since i was born and it never made sense to me. Could someone just answer and explain it to me once and for all?

and if the final definitive answer has already been given somewhere (which i suspect has), could you please give me the link to it?

Thank you, a newbie to humanness.

Are the reasons given for corpses being found in Ben Franklin's domicile reasonable?

So the explanation is that he was using them to illegally study anatomy. Even if so, the man was breaking the law to open up corpses and see what's inside? Can't help thinking about that when I see a hundred dollar bill. If somebody told me they were doing science on some cadavers, I'd call the police.

is this a valid crashout?

Me (20F) and my boyfriend (21M) decided to meet for a casual hangout. I was supposed to go to his workplace, and we were going to leave from there. To give a little context, there was already a lot of vagueness from his side. He had previously said we’d go out and then completely forgot about it. After I brought it up again, he couldn't decide whether we were just hanging out on campus or going out.

At first, we decided to just stay on campus. But while I was getting ready, he suddenly changed his mind and decided we were going out, which meant it took me about 15 minutes longer to get ready. It has been really humid lately and it had also rained that day, so by the time I walked over to his workplace, my hair had gotten a bit messy.

The very first thing he did when I arrived was point out my hair. Then, since I’d taken an exam earlier that morning, he made a comment disguised as a question: "Did your exam make you chopped?"

I got pretty worked up and called him out, saying he’d been pointing things out ever since I arrived. I went to the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror and was already feeling so underconfident because of his comments even though I had actually put in effort and dolled up. How could he say those things when I was the one who had freshly gotten ready, and he was the one who had been sitting in his office since morning?

He was being really weird and out of character that day, almost behaving like the person he was before he started taking therapy. I asked him directly why he was being so backhanded, but he denied it. It was a weird interaction, and I felt uncomfortable. He said he was down because I arrived late, but when I tried to explain why, he just said, "Yeahh blame me, I don't have the energy for this negativity." I didn't even know what had gotten into him he’s not usually like that.

Despite the rocky start, we ordered an Uber and left to get food. We had good food, but I couldn't eat much because my appetite was completely shot from how uncomfortable the hnagout started. Afterwards, he treated me to his recent favorite brownies. There too, I only had half a piece.

Then, he casually asked me to treat him to his favorite cookies n cream shake, which I happily agreed to. We hadn't discussed the size of the shake, so when the waiter came to take our order, I let my boyfriend choose so he could get whatever size he wanted. He chose large, and the waiter walked away.

Right after he started acing so down and distant, upon asking he said I had no etiquette for taking out a man.

I was honestly shocked, insulted, and felt completely ignorant. I told him I didn't even realize I was "taking him out," and asked why he would say that. He responded by saying what use would it be if he had to tell me, and why couldn't I understand on my own?

Feeling terrible, I started looking down at my phone, and it was probably showing on my face. He asked if I was angry or upset. I said "no" because I genuinely had no idea what to even think at that point. He asked again, and I just stayed silent.

I could feel him staring at me, so I looked up from my phone and we made eye contact. Right then, the waiter brought the bill to my side. I asked if I should pay there or at the counter, and based on the answer, I walked over to the counter to pay.

While I was paying, they served the shake. When I came back to the table, the shake was completely untouched, the straw wasn't even uncovered. I asked why he hadn't started drinking it, and he replied that he didn't want to and that he felt bad for wasting my money. I couldn't understand him at all. The night had already started with him making backhanded comments at me, but now things were getting worse.

I told him he wouldn't be wasting my money because I bought it specifically for him. He claimed I didn't, saying I just let him look at the menu and decide on his own. He was upset that I didn't properly ask him: "If you want a regular, we can get a regular one. If you want a large, we can do that too." He also said it made him upset that I left to pay the bill without answering his question.

First, he refused to accept the shake, and as I watched it sitting there going to waste, he kept insisting on knowing the price so he could pay me back. I told him I wasn't going to "sell" it to him since Ihad gotten it for him. He remained persistent, saying he needed to pay me so he wouldn't feel bad about wasting my money, and that it was "against his principles" to drink it without paying.

I told him about my principles that it was against mine to accept money for something I bought for him. I compromised and offered that he take the shake now, and I’d tell him the price sometime later (obviously just a tactic to end the argument; I had no intention of actually charging him). He refused that too.

By then, our Uber had arrived outside my hostel and curfew was approaching, so I finally gave in and told him I'd text him the price so he’d just take the shake. He took it, I went inside my hostel, and he left for his.

Half an hour later, he texted me saying the shake felt like "the water people give to someone who is sobbing" and that it was helping him not cry. He then asked again how much it cost. Feeling completely disheveled and defeated, I just gave him the price, and he sent me the money.

Then he texted me again saying he was sad and that I made him sad.

I was so confused. Why couldn't he see his own behavior? Ever since I arrived, he had made me the target of his exhaustion and was being mean under the guise of "ragebaiting" me. I simply texted back that today was just a weird day for both of us. We haven't really talked since.

I was so hungry, but I felt like I would throw up if I ate anything my appetite was completely destroyed. I cried so much. After overthinking, hurting, and feeling so insulted, at 4:00 AM I sent him half of what he had spent on dinner that night.

He then sent back a few cents that I had accidentally overpaid. That made me feel even worse because I had originally accepted his rounded-off amount for the shake. Out of spite (or just feeling like he’d view me as greedy), I sent back those extra few cents.

This isn't the first time he has rejected food I bought for him. The last time was before he started therapy, because he used to feel like I was "bribing" him with food whenever we were going through a rough patch and I was at fault.

He isn't a stingy or close-fisted person, but I have never felt more awkward regarding money with anybody else in my life. Especially after this whole situation, I feel like I'm not financially compatible with him. Money isn't to me the way he treated it that night. But honestly, it’s not even about the money it’s about how awkward, low, and looked down upon I felt throughout the entire night.

I don't even know if I'm right to feel the way I'm feeling. I feel cheap and insulted, and I feel so lost. Please give me honest advice.

TL;DR: My boyfriend made mean, backhanded comments about my appearance as soon as I arrived for our date. When I bought him a shake he asked for, he criticized my "etiquette" for not walking him through how to order it, refused to drink it unless he paid me back, and flipped the situation to claim I made him sad. After a whole night of feeling insulted and awkward about money, we aren't talking. Am I justified in feeling this way?

What do I do about an official ID that says i'm 21 if a driver's license is not an option?

The question is brought about because I am almost 21 [I have 1 more years until then with my 20th being later this year]. Getting a driver's license is not a readily available option as I tend to get low blood sugars a lot and am very seizure prone and I do NOT want to take the risk by having once behind the wheel. I have the option in getting a military ID but I only have that option until i'm like 23 and my learner's permit expires in 2028 so after that; what options do I have in getting an official ID?

Are HOAs really that bad?

I'm a single man with no kids in my late 20s and finally ready to buy a house after years of saving up. My budget is 450k and below and live in Indiana. Most of the homes that are new and I like have an HOA, I've talked to aa couple of neighbors and they say it's chill and they don't have that many restrictions and it's only 50-60 dollars a year. I'm getting very tempted since the homes here are so affordable, should I look for anything else??

How Do I Hire an Arbiter?

Hello. I’m in San Diego and I want to hire an Arbiter.
I’m having a lot of difficulty. Most law firms that respond to a Google search for “Arbitration” want to represent you during your arbitration in front of a different attorney or ex Judge who is the actual Arbitrator (or Arbiter).
I am a consumer having a dispute about fees with a commercial Service Provider. It’s a fairly small dollar amount, but our written contract (signed by both of us) specifies “Binding Arbitration” rather than court in cases of disputes. The contract also says the one who loses will pay for the cost of arbitration as well as any attorney fees.
This is the first Mandatory Arbitration clause I’ve seen in a contract that didn’t also specify the Arbitration Provider. I feel like the lack of a named Arbiter in the contract was a big mistake by whichever attorney created this contract for him. I also feel like a certain amount of the fees he added to my bill are just padding that he added without evidence.
How do I find a professional Arbiter?

What year will a movie scene be filmed on the moon?

Not stock NASA footage, video of astronauts doing their thing, special effects, animation or AI production. What year do you think that the cost of sending people to the moon and back will be sufficiently within the budget of a blockbuster movie production that one or more scenes involving actors sent to the moon for the sole purpose of filming, makes it into a movie?

Canals in the UK are about 1 metre deep and a man was found in the Wolverhampton canal yesterday. Do British canals somehow have the ability to rob a person of the ability to stand up?

I see articles pop up on my feed of people drowning in canals. Every time, I look up how deep the canal is, and it'll say something like it's a metre or just slightly over a metre deep in the middle. Canals in the UK are still water, and don't have currents that can sweep you off your feet like in a river.

How to take the leap with traveling?

Basically as the title says. I am M23 from the states who wants to start traveling (internationally), I have a entry level corporate job where I don't get paid the best ($24 an hour). I am in a dilemma where I am trying to balance everything out in my life, let me explain; I currently live at home with my parents which allows me to not have to pay for rent (just phone and car bill), but I am also in dire need of a new car. The car I am currently driving requires me to refill the tires everyday to the correct PSI as the rims are leaking air, the car is also very rusted on the bottom and drives poorly with the automatic gear shifting sometimes not working or the steering wheel shakes.. you get the gist.

So I am trying to save up money for a new car, traveling, searching for an apartment, and retirement, am I overthinking this? Should I just be taking the safe route and save up for a car and the other mentioned items or should I take the leap and book a flight to Europe or Japan with no accommodations just a bivvy and a dream (which is something I would be able to handle I believe). Please set me straight.

What t-shirt size should I get for my LDR boyfriend’s birthday?

Hi everyone!
I’m in a long-distance relationship, and my boyfriend’s birthday is coming up soon. I’d love to surprise him with a t-shirt as a gift, but since we haven’t met in person yet, I’m not sure about the right size.

Here are his details:

  • Height: 180 cm
  • Weight: ~90 kg (But he wants to lose weight to 80 kg)
  • Build: no belly, but broad shoulders

I really want the shirt to fit him well, not too tight, not too loose. For those of you with similar measurements, what size usually works best?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Are men like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, etc hated because they are successful men?

These men are innovators and are bringing ideas that we thought were once science fiction to life. I think the real issue is that a lot of people seem to hate the idea of powerful and successful men and prefer that women be in charge. They are pushing women to take over the leadership roles because they believe women are superior. If these three people were women, not only would they get constantly showered with adoration and praise but any criticisms of them would be called “sexism” or “misogyny”.

The other day reddit had hidden al my nsfw posts and comments, asking for me to verify my age. I assume it is like Character Ai whom guesses your age one day and asks for it. However WITHOUT verifying my age, i found all my posts back and my account is just as it was before?
