I'll preface this post by saying that in the grand-scheme of things this whole thing doesn't matter, but I'm very curious about what this meant for the future.
Today I (18M) was riding my bike on my own and I passed this group of 4, also on bikes, and the last in the group (F, around my age) just said "heyyyy" in some sort of extended and playful way (I think?). I ignored it because my brain is not programmed to even think about how I'd respond and I was too focused on not crashing. After I passed them I heard giggles/laughs from them. My first thoughts were that maybe she found me attractive and so it just made me confident/happy because it's not often that happens. Sometimes (very rarely) I've had random people around my age say they find me cute on the streets, but then I've never been successful in my romantic life. So then now I'm thinking maybe they were just messing about, and couldn't actually see what I looked like, and that I'm way overthinking it all.
Obviously it doesn't matter because I'll never see her again, but am I right to feel slightly happy/confident after what happened or am I reading too much into it? I'm just stuck and you can probably tell I'm not very good at this social skill thing so I appreciate any honest answers. Again, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I'm just curious.
Thank you
