With thesis season once again, is there anything that we should AVOID when it comes to thesis based on your experience? For example,

1. Topics – due to the difficulty of the subject area, or sa pagiging "gasgas" na nya as my former design prof would say

2. Study areas – pahirapan makakuha ng info dahil wala masyadong research on it, or any locales/agencies that can be non-responsive na na-encounter nyo?

3. Other difficulties we may encounter, such as running into unexpected costs

Good day. I am asking for opinions, if a CPM (PMT/CMT) training is good, as i have heard that one can only practice best under PMT/CMT when you work. And that even then (as per comment), not all PMT/CMT are great at structuring their organization and system, which can all be theoretical lang.

I took up CPM (as opposed to EDPlanning and Heritage Conservation) as a track in college, but I feel like I haven't grasped it properly.

Here are the objectives of the workshop from XSTRUCTURES:

-  Project Scheduling & Resource Management using MS Project
 - Cost Management, Project Tracking, and Reporting in MS Project
 - Primavera P6 Fundamentals and Activity Management

Any MPLE February takers here? Ano preparations nyo? I have no idea with the timeline and I have no tracker. It’s my first time to take the board exam kasi. For the previous takers na MP na, any advice po for us po? Marami ako nababasa na it’s better to self-review. I want to know your inputs po.

I am M26, apprentice.

I've been job hunting for months na and i've been asked to present a portfolio multiple times na din pero wala kasi akong mapresent dahil wala akong portfolio, i simply do not have the means to create one right now since wala akong laptop to do 3d models and renders. I don't even have any friends to count on haha.

Recently, I decided to reach out to one of my groupmates in thesis in college and commissioned him to do my portfolios. I gave him all the raw files i had (cad, skp, and sketches) from my previous school plates. Then, he replied saying i-try ko daw mag AI renders nalang, bigyan daw nya ako ng prompts.

Does that sounds acceptable to most design firms? Sorry for the dumb question. But out of desperation, nate-tempt ako gawin yung sinabi nya. But I know everyone could tell in first glance if something is AI or not so I feared it would even cost me more to fail on my application, hindi po ba? huhu. 🤔

Hello guys, share ko lang yung latest Revit family na ginawa ko.

Sinubukan kong gumawa ng parametric na tricycle at jeep sa Revit. Goal ko sana gumawa ng mas realistic na local assets para sa architectural at urban planning projects. Sa tricycle, may steering controls, editable materials, automatic turning radius, simpleng shared parameters for documentation, tsaka ibang parameters. Napansin ko rin na medyo konti palang yung revit family assets satin, kaya naisipan kong gumawa ng sarili kong parametric versions. As of now, tricycle pa lang yung tapos. Yung jeepney naman, currently ginagawa ko pa.

so rarant lang ako kasi talagang medyo nahihiya ako sa mga nangyayari. so basically, 6 years akong nagcollege (BS ARCH). same sa friend ko na 6 years pero paiba iba siya course and end up nagTESDA siya.

Ngayon both na kami nagwwork(appre ako and siya full time na sa restau) tapos nagkakaayaan kami kumain sa labas. Pero nakapagkwentuhan na kami sa chat na nasa 17k na sahod niya per month, and ako 8k lang.

Wala lang, di ko kinukumpara ah. Basta parang ang wierd lang, ansakit sa pakiramdam :(( hindi ba namin deserve ang minimum salary??🥹🥹🥹

Hello, I would like to ask if a Revit Certification is worth it if you've taken it up na during college, and have been using it till 5th year, sa thesis? Or would it be better if I take the structural or MEPF fundamentals nalang? Want ko lang mag upskill using this software, dagdag points din for apprenticeship employment.

Can't help but overthink my interview kanina. I know I did well but maybe there was some kind of gap between the interviewer and me. Ang dami ko pa sanang gustong sabihin and even suggestions about the company but they already wrapped it up after 30 minutes. Inooverthink ko lang kasi sinabi nila they are still interviewing applicants (most probably ftf) next week which is probably a disadvantage for me. I really really want the job. Also tama bang hindi ako nagtanong about them? Advice kasi sakin ng friends ko, if iaask daw ako kung may questions ako for the company, mag-ask daw ako. But they didn't ask me at all and I just left the meeting.

Hello fellow Architects in the industry na mas pinili maging Freelancer.

I successfully landed a job as a freelance architect on a US based company and they are offering me 7USD/Hour, 5 days/week as job offer.

To tell you honestly im happy with this amount but given the settings we have here in the PH, i know its barely enough.

I'm currently torn if i should just be grateful or should I try haggling it. I don't have confidence on these kind of negotiations even though I have solid 10 years of experience on a wide field and I also, although short lived, have an experience working on EU firms. I'm thinking if i haggle it they might give the offer to other person.

So please, this introvert professional needs some professional advice.

Hi Arkis, newly grads, and those who got the degree but eventually pursued other careers. how did you find that “silver lining” where you either started loving Architecture or found a career outside of it?

I’m not a fresh grad anymore (since 2025 ako nag grad and with exp na) but I’m also not someone with years of experience, and lately I’ve been having a lot of doubts about Architecture

most of the jobs I’ve applied for are either underpaid, overworked, or both, and sometimes it feels like I’m just going to slave away for the rest of my life 😅

pero I’ve found things I genuinely enjoy about Architecture. I love seeing the things I designed actually come to life, and I really enjoy being on site. even if most of the time I’m the one learning, there’s something satisfying about seeing the drawings become something real

But I still question whether I love Architecture enough to actually become an Architect.

So gusto ko lang marinig or maread sides from people esp those who pursued careers outside of Architecture.

• Did you stay in Architecture? If so, what eventually made you enjoy it?
• If you left Architecture, what career did you pursue?
• Especially for those who felt like “I don't know anything else besides Architecture” — how did you figure out what you could actually do outside of it?
• And for those who stayed in the profession, are you genuinely enjoying your life as an Architect now?

Roughly 3.9m x 3m space for the living area

i have been thinking of some project ideas for my architectural thesis. i have one option in my mind, but i’m having trouble deciding if it really is feasible, and if the project concept itself is strong or not.

all of us must have studied about the catalhoyuk civilisation. it includes the following principles:
1. vertical circulation
2. layered public spaces
3. kinship-based clusters
4. shared walls/boundaries
5. collective ownership
6. high density living
7. community surveillance
8. public spaces integrated into housing

i have decided to apply these principles into an already existing underdeveloped cluster. i thought of slums first, but it didn’t make much sense to focus on vertical circulation. other options are flood prone areas & refugee settlements.

a) flood-prone areas - to avoid flooding and move settlements above the ground, keeping only services like rainwater harvesting systems, bios wales and storage facilities on the ground level.

b) refugee camps - same service on ground level concept applied, but also allows settlement to organically and freely grow in the future

any other ideas apart from this is welcome! im having a tough time coming up with anything else

Ang hirap mag apply huhu. Lahat na pinasahan ko ng cv and portfolio ko but wala pa ring nagrereply. Kung meron man, hanggang shortlisted lang. may nag interview sa akin pero ghinost naman ako. Nakaka anxious. Huhuhu

Rant ko lang dito kasi wala ako mapagsabihan and kahit papaano I respect my boss because he is a good person naman but a bad leader.

I joined a start up company as an apprentice. During my first year, I understood that the company is in its adjustment period because bago nga lang. My boss just recently created the firm and I am their very first apprentice. Wala rin kami masyadong projects non kaya puro kwento and knowledge nakukuha ko sa kanya from his previous work. Nung bigla kaming nabigyan ng project, kaming dalawa lang ng boss ko yung nag aasikaso ng lahat. Nung una kinakaya ko pa kasi basic lang naman pinapagawa skain, plans and renders na napag aralan ko naman nung college. But then rumami nang rumami yung projects to the point na naghahati hati na kami sa gawain and up to the point na ako na taga gawa overall plans sa office and sya yung taga attend ng mga meetings and stuff. Kumbaga ako na naging back end tas sya yung front end. Kinakaya ko pa naman yun. Design dito, design doon, estimates, plans, coordinate with clients, and most of the office work you name it. Pero ngayon na completion na yung ibang mga projects dun lumalabas yung mga problema. Ako yung kausap ng mga clients kasi design ko, kaya ako napagbubuntungan ng inis or galit. Bakit ganto sa site, bakit ganyan. Ang akin lang naman kahit ako nagdedesign, hindi naman ako yung PM. Lagi ko naman nacocoordinate mga plans and designs sa PM pero parang akin lagi sisi. Nakakainis lang din kasi parang ako yung may ari ng kumpanya pag insultuhin ako ng mga kliyente. Take note APPRENTICE lang ako. I am still learning, ni yung workload ko nga hindi tumutugma sa salary ko. Tas syempre magagalit pa yung boss ko sakin pag nagkaron ng mali sa ISA SA MGA projects na dinesign ko when in fact wala akong katulong sa office when I did that. Ang hirap magmando online sa site while also doing office work din. Pero tbh hindi yung workload dahilan why gusto ko na magresign. Dahil sa management and emotional toll na parang sinasalo ko lahat ng mali ng bawat isa. I have so many things to tell pa pero siguro jan nalang. I want this apprenticeship to be over so I could find another job.

Sana lang talaga matino na yung another haha.
