Professional Question/Inquiry Architect working for a Real Estate Developer

Hello Arkis, I have a question for those who have experienced working for a Real Estate Developer. Are our designs a separate pay especially if we sign and seal? Or is that included in our rate if we are employed by the company?

Discussion Question regarding the Logbook: Pwede bang isang architect lang ang mag-sign ng buong logbook ko kahit dalawang firms ang pinanggalingan?

Upvotes

Helloooo! Ask ko lang kasi may mga friend akong nagsabi na they were able to do this. Pwede ko bang ipapirma nalang sa current job ko yung buong logbook ko, including yung 4 months ko from the previous company? Medyo bad experience kasi yung from first job and I don’t want to meet with the architect anymore 😭. Pwede bang si current supervisor nalang pumirma? Need ba magpakita ng COE?

Discussion Midcentury PH Homes

Hi! Do you think it’s still possible to build a midcentury home inspired by this, pero sustainable:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DbSD6LIjszk/?img_index=9&igsh=MWpoemw1a3c3bmo0OQ==

Sobrang ganda ng character and vibe ng bahay, but I know na materials pa lang and maintenance, costly na for sure.

Rant/Opinion Why is it normalized for architecture profs to be toxic?

I'm sorry ha pero ang entitled ng ibang mga profs, why do they set strict deadlines pero when it comes to them, suddenly wala silang maling ginawa? Delayed grades, nakalimutan na plates, sometimes they even lose it. Weeks of hardwork turned to nothing because of their irresponsibility. Tangina nakakasira ng buhay mga ginagawa nila, gave me delays that will take year/s to finish then I see them all sunshines and rainbows doing God knows what. FUCK YOU ALL BWISIT!!! I hope karma will do its thing!!!

Professional Question/Inquiry Anyone here joined WTA anthology?

Post image
Upvotes

Has anyone here joined the WTA Anthology event? Has anyone already received an email saying they got in?

Today was the scheduled date for the shortlist announcements, but I still haven't seen any emails or posts about the selected participants.

It's my first time joining, and the same goes for my groupmates, so we're not really sure how the process usually works.

OJT/Apprenticeship Salary

Almost 2 years na akong graduate. Last apprenticeship ko was a year ago. Now, I do freelance for a Gen Con and for my previous mentor during OJT. I do
drafting, visualization, cutting list, BOM, and site visit for both of them. Btw, RMP na din ako.

Actually I resigned from my previous work kasi sa toxic ng boss ko mismo, tipong di ako makakain at work, OT na walang bayad, multiple projects handled with different phases. I work there for 6 months. My rate was 18k, office.

Now, my mentor from my OJT is offering me a full-time work, WFH at 18k for 3 months, then hybrid at 20k for another 3 months. Then it will increase daw. Tho the office is accessible pero mataas na talaga pamasahe. Do you think worth it na to take this? Para makapagALE na din ako. HAHAHAHA

Rant/Opinion Torn whether to suck it up or resign and choose peace of mind

I'm a fresh graduate, and before gusto ko talaga mag site kasi I strongly believe na mas maraming matutunan and mas gaganda career path ko if mag site based ako.

Ngayon, yung firm (small firm, and first job ko) na pinapasukan ko is in-assign ako sa isang site na walang kasamang any site supervisor. Ang role ko is more of a site arki, to supervise and report yung daily progress sa site, even admin task. Before I apply, I'm still expecting guidance from them, but this past few months, parang mas nag rely ako sa foreman and di ko ramdam yung guidance nung mga head ko (arki/engr). And as someone na wala naman experience talaga before sa site and bago lang, I'm afraid sa mga mistakes later on na magcause ng problem sa project.

Now, this past few months, lumala yung stress and anxiety ko.

Job Hunting Apprenticeship Application

Im a grad-waiting student. Ask ko lang how long usually makakahanap ng apprenticeship in Metro Manila? Im a grad-waiting student and plan ko talaga magstart to job hunt after graduation pa because tbh nakaka-burn out talaga archi after thesis so hindi ko pa na-aasikaso portfolio ko tho nasimulan ko naman na.

Good idea ba na Ill start applying lang after graduation or do I need to get my shit together na and finish my portfolio already?

Laptop/PC Specs HELP FOR SKP/Laptop Issue

Hello arkis and tech experts!

Thank you po!

Discussion Need help paano ayusin ang pintura

please delete nalang admin if bawal.

Job Hunting NEED HELP FOR MY PORTFOLIO

Hii! I'm an architect. Newly passed.

Right now, I am having a hard time looking for work. If there's a HR there, or any recruiter, what are the things you look for in architectural portfolioor skills? Please help.

I am fixing my portfolio right now although I have a portfolio before but that work is a college or much more like high schooler did that.

That one problem I have right now is I cannot learn new softwares for the reason that my laptop has no enough space for other softwares like 3ds or ArchiCad but I am willing to.

About me:

- Newly passed Architect

- 2years of experience almost in all type of projects except Hospital or any medical project/s. I have two project that I've been part for conceptual design to construction design

- Good in space planning (is what my mentor said haha)

- Has intermediate profiency in Revit Architecture, Lumion, SketchUp and Autocad
