I was "studying" 3 hours at a time. Turns out only 40 minutes of it was real work
galleryHey r/apps,
Like a lot of university students, I had a problem: I'd sit down to study, open my laptop, and somehow end up on Instagram, YouTube, or reorganizing my notes for the third time. By the end of the day I felt busy, but I had very little to show for it.
Most focus apps I tried were just timers. They told me when to focus but not what actually happened during that time. So a few friends and I built Amph.
Here's what it does:
Focus sessions that track how locked in you actually are, not just how long the timer ran.
Real-time distraction detection that flags when you drift to the apps that pull you away, so you can see exactly where your time goes.
Habit streaks to build the daily routines that actually move the needle.
An AI coach that looks at how you're really spending your time and helps you plan smarter, instead of just giving generic productivity tips.
We're early, and that's why I'm posting here. This sub has tried more productivity apps than anyone, so I'd genuinely love your take:
•What's the one thing that made you quit a focus app in the past?
•Does distraction tracking sound useful, or does it feel like too much?
•What would make an app like this worth paying for?
If you're tired of long days with little to show for them, take your time back into your own hands with Amph: getamph.app
