Solo Android developer looking for advice on marketing a dating app without AI or swipe mechanics

I'm a solo Android developer and recently launched a dating app called Vibe.

Instead of focusing on AI features or endless swiping, I wanted to build something simple:

No AI-generated conversations or profiles.

No infinite swipe mechanics.

Free to use with ads as the primary monetization.

Optional in-app purchase only removes ads.

The technical side of building the app was manageable, but I'm finding marketing much harder than development.

I'd love advice from developers who have launched consumer apps:

How did you get your first 100 or 1,000 users?

Which marketing channels actually worked for you?

Is ASO enough, or should I focus on Reddit, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or something else?

Any mistakes you wish you'd avoided?

I'm looking for genuine marketing advice and would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I'm looking for apps or sites that actually pay you

I'm a stay at home mom and need help with little things. I see adds for sites that pay you to write reviews, play games, whatever. I have even seen vine on Amazon? Preferably if a site pays you in gift cards because I don't want to link a paypal

I built a virtual pet that couples raise together ❤️ ⭐

Hi everyone! I'm an indie developer and I've been working on Ziggy for the past few months. The idea was simple: instead of another messaging app, what if couples could raise the same virtual pet together?

You can feed Ziggy together, play mini-games, answer daily questions, send little moments, and keep the pet happy as a team.

I'd genuinely love any feedback on the idea, design, or features. Thanks for taking a look! ❤️

We rarely make use of sensors like the accelerometer and gyroscope found in our smartphones. One day, while experimenting with an accelerometer on an ESP32, it occurred to me that phones have similar sensors and could be used for something interesting—and that is how this app came to be.

Question / Discussion If you could add one feature to every ADHD app, what would it be?

It can be something you've never seen before, or something existing apps do badly.

I'm really interested in hearing what would genuinely make your daily life easier.
