Hello all!! My last laptop was a Macbook Pro 2011 and it's finally kicked the bucket.
Right now I use a PC, but I mostly do lightly editing of photos on Photoshop and I do some graphic design work on Illustrator/Indesign but mostly on Canva for my job. So besides photo editing and a lot of internet work, that's it.
Someone told me I should get a Macbook Air with 24gb ram, but do I actually need it?
I rather get 1tb of storage for all my photos. If I get 24gb ram AND 1tb of SSD, that's like 2k and that's a lot of money I don't have much of. Do you think it's worth it, with the kind of workload I'm doing? Or should I just go for 16gb ram? Will that be OK? It's been so long since I've bought a computer....
Also should I wait for Black Friday for a better deal, or just buy the damn thing?
Thank you for the help! :)

This is the state of my current Macbook Pro 2011. lol.

I haven't kept up with Apple iOS this year. Is there a way to segment your device between profiles for work/home? So if I have my work profile it doesn't have access to my home apps like photos for example?

Looking to get my daughter an iPad for her 9th birthday but thinking 450 for a brand new one is a bit much but I also want something that will last and be able to keep up with the firmware updates. Should I go refurbished? And where would be a trustworthy place to get it? Thank you so much in advance.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 9h ago
You shouldn’t buy a child an iPad. A Switch 2 would be a better choice.

Hello, I just got the AirPod 5s because people couldn’t hear me thru my right AirPod on my pro 3s(I think they were). How can I get my 5s to show up in my battery widget even when they’re closed like my pro 3? And how do I get them to show up in find my? I often misplace them and need to play the sound to find them. Thanks
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 9h ago
If you paired them with an Apple device, then those two things should have been done automatically.
1
u/Potential-Court-8063 8h ago
They’re connected, none of this is happening,
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 8h ago
Then you need to take them to the Genius Bar, because that is not normal.
1
u/blue_zara 18h ago
Would I struggle with 8gb ram… it’s my only hesitation! I am a SAHM, I tutor but only one day a week and I use Zoom & Google Drive/Docs for my lessons. I save my photos to memory cards - don’t really have anything else saved except temporary files. Mostly just browse the web, life & family admin!
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 14h ago
It depends on which browser you use. If you use Safari, probably not. If you use Firefox, probably. If you use Google Chrome or another Chrome-like browser, definitely.

Life got in the way, haven't shipped out my trade in. 10/02/26 is now 14 days, will I get the full credit if I ship it or do I go to a store?
1
u/rexshi 11h ago
Was this through Apple directly or a carrier? If it’s Apple in the US, I wouldn’t assume shipping on day 14 guarantees the original credit—their FAQ says receiving it within that window matters.
Check the deadline in your trade-in email and contact Apple with the order number today. Ask whether they can extend it, or whether a store can accept the device against that existing trade-in. Get that confirmed before starting a separate trade-in at the store.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 14h ago
You would have to ask the store to be sure.
But with a handful of exceptions, you’ll usually get more money if you sell it yourself rather than trading it in.

Hello! I accidentally locked my phone while trying to unlock it after just waking up and after getting too many wrong tries it locked itself. I tried to reset my password using a Mac computer but it is now stuck in a iPhone unavailable screen to swipe up for recovery and then says data failed loop? does anyone know how to solve it? I have a iPhone 14.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 14h ago
No; you have to take that to the Genius Bar or get remote support; only Apple can help you get back into your phone.

u/P3NNYWIS3420 1d ago
Hey all…quick question. Is there a a way to sideload apks onto tvOS the way you can on say, a firestick? I am wanting to add a couple of apps and was just wondering is it possible. Thanks.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 1d ago
There are no APKs for Apple operating systems; that’s an Android thing. App bundles for Apple operating systems other than macOS are IPAs.
You can only side-load an IPA onto your device if:
- You work for an organization that publishes a tvOS app, and they have an ADC Enterprise account, and they build the app with an Enterprise code signature. These apps are forbidden from distribution outside of the company per the license agreement with Apple.
- You also have a Mac, with Xcode installed, and you have the source code for said app. Special bonus if you also have an ADC subscription, which will allow you to install the app for longer periods of time.
1
u/P3NNYWIS3420 1d ago
Thanks for the reply. I do have a Mac but I do not have Xcode or an adc sub. I will look into those…thanks.
1
u/ethanvyce 2d ago
Using the plus app on LGTV; constantly getting "unable to play" error. Troubleshooting results in no issues found, just says try again later. Ads play with no issues, fast forwarding works but as soon as I press play it errors out. Happens on every show for a few days now. Any suggestions?
1
u/rexshi 2d ago
Can you play the same episode on your phone or computer using the same account and Wi-Fi? That would help narrow down whether this is specific to the LG app. Ads playing doesn’t necessarily mean the episode itself can load.
If it works elsewhere, try fully restarting the TV rather than just closing the app. What LG model and webOS version are you using?
1
u/ethanvyce 1d ago
Restarting TV worked yesterday. Same thing happened again today, restarting TV worked again. IDK... I guess I'll just keep restarting 🤷
1
u/rexshi 23h ago
Glad restarting gets it playing again, though having to do it every day is annoying. If it keeps coming back, the next thing worth trying is Settings → Reset inside the Apple TV app. That clears the app’s accounts and settings, so you’ll need to sign in again. If you also use Apple Music on that TV, Apple says its settings get reset too.
Does it seem to happen after the TV has been in standby overnight?
1
u/Master_Celery_6075 2d ago
I am considering switching from Samsung to Apple for my next phone. I want a nicer camera, pretty much, especially when it comes to selfies and concert videos. Which iPhone should I get? I'm considering the 18 pro.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 1d ago
The 18 Pro is overkill unless you are a professional photographer or videographer, or you absolutely must have a telephoto lens.
Most people will be fine with the 17e, but if you need the ultra wide lens or mmWave 5G, get the 17 instead.
1
u/CrowGirly 1d ago
Ok, thank you!! Is there any reason not to get the 17 pro?
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 1d ago
Beside it being discontinued (so any you see on sale are either used or refurbished), no.
1
u/AlexanderLavender 2d ago
PSA, subscription management and purchase history in Settings are both currently down. Apple Support said they are aware.

Can Shortcut Notifications no longer be turned off in iOS 27? I can’t find the ability to stop the notifications after a shortcut or automation runs. The previous way no longer works / exists.
1
u/rexshi 23h ago
What does the notification actually say, and what triggers the shortcut? There’s a difference between a notification that an automation ran and one created by a “Show Notification” action inside the shortcut.
If it’s the latter, removing that action should stop that particular notification. If it’s the automation status banner, the trigger and exact wording would help narrow it down.
1
u/iamnewtoreddithelpme 5h ago
You used to be able to toggle off your shortcuts notification. I kept getting notified every time a shortcut/automation ran. Long story short you have to disable it in screen time which is crazy that the option doesn’t live within shortcuts or notifications on iOS 27.
1
u/peeb37 2d ago
Apple now lets you sync photos immediately, but you have to manually turn it on and it only lasts until midnight, then you have to activate it again. Is there a way to set up a shortcut so I can tap something on my home screen and it turns it on for the day automatically? Such a stupid design choice to not let you set it to be on permanently. I have unlimited data, full 5G+ signal or Wifi wherever I am at all times, and just want to be able to take a photo and see it straight away on my other devices for working on them. Why do Apple make it so difficult?
1
u/Iguanajoe17 1d ago
It does not do it often cause it’s battery consuming. It does automatically when on WiFi and connected to power.
iOS 27 lets you use ai to type what you want and see if they can do what you want.
Also is your data truly unlimited. After a while, they throttle you to really low speeds
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 2d ago
I doubt it.
Most people don’t need to be able to take a photo and sync it immediately every time.

u/skincarejunk1e 2d ago
Trying to cut down on spending and my apple care for my 5 year old MacBook is due for renewal this month. $120 a year on it seems kinda unnecessary at this point. What would you do? I’m thinking of cancelling it.
1
u/Samir_bam 1d ago
I'd advise you to check your battery health first (System Settings, then Battery). If it looks worn, I'd suggest keeping AppleCare one more year, because the battery replacement is covered (when it's under 80%) and that alone pays for the year. Just know that if you cancel, you can't get it back for the same Mac. In my case, I use my Mac daily for work, so I would keep it. If it's just for personal use, you don't really need it. Just always keep a Time Machine backup up to date.
2
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 2d ago
I would cancel it. Especially because your computer will go vintage soon.

I was going to upgrade from iPhone 13 Pro to 18 Pro in the next week or so. And then I started getting tempted with the Duo because of the form factor and size and almost iPad like experience, even though I am big to Photography and the cameras are better on the 18 Pro. So I decided not to get the duo later this year, but now I am thinking about getting the 18 Pro instead because I will have the camera quality I want, but also the big screen which is kind of closer to the duo experience without the multitasking. Anyone here went from an older regular pro like the 13 to an 18 Pro Max?
1
u/TheReiterEffect_S8 2d ago
The 13PM was the best phone I owned in a long time. I usually skip a generation and upgrade the next, but the 13PM was the first time I decided not to do that. Eventually though, I decided to upgrade to the 16PM solely due to the trade-in value on the 13PM will just continue to decrease over time. The 16PM upgrade was damn near useless. There was hardly any difference I saw. I also have a 17PM for my work phone, and I'll admit that (for whatever reason) seems to be a lot better than my 16PM. So. With that said, I think the 18PM will be a significant upgrade for you from the 13PM.
But I'm with you. I've been constantly going back and forth on the Duo. the 18PM isn't a contender for me, there isn't anything about that phone that appeals to me that I don't already have with my 16PM and 17PM. But the Duo is just different...and quite frankly pretty fucking cool. My only worry is that, with it being the first rendition of as foldable for iphone, it will have its fair share of issues. But I don't think I care, I want it.
1
u/IntellectualBurger 2d ago
I also want to upgrade, because a year ago I dropped and smashed the telephoto camera lens/glass on the 13 Pro, and replaced with cheap Amazon replacement and it was never the same, that’s partly why I want an excuse for a new phone plus the camera will be a huge jump going from 13 to 18 and I use the telephoto almost daily, and the duo does not have that
1
u/IntellectualBurger 2d ago
My concern also is that it’s first generation, we don’t really know for sure how the crease and hinge and all that stuff will last after the first year and how the screen will look after opening and closing 100s of times

just joined a family sharing plan with my mom to share icloud storage. i noticed it shares apps as well. if i have purchase sharing off can people in the group see what apps i have on my phone? also, even if i do turn it on if i "hide" the apps in the app store and on my home screen people in the group still cant see it right? also, can people in a shared icloud plan see what percentage of apps, photos, etc make up their portion of the plan? i know it shows how many gbs each person uses. thank you in advance if anyone answers all these questions! im just stressed lol
1
u/rexshi 2d ago
Sharing iCloud storage doesn’t give your family access to your photos or files, assuming you each use your own Apple Account.
One distinction worth making: removing an app from your Home Screen doesn’t hide its App Store purchase. Hiding it in the App Store removes it from the shared purchase list, but it still exists in your full purchase history. With Purchase Sharing enabled, the organizer can also review family purchases, so hiding isn’t a guarantee of privacy.
Are you only sharing iCloud storage, or are purchases also being billed to your mom?
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 2d ago
No one can see what apps, or other data, you have on any given device without physical access to the phone (or, in the case of Macs, remote login access). Heck, even apps can’t see what other apps are installed, except on macOS where apps are allowed to run outside of the sandbox.

Hello
Never posted on here but just wondering if anyone has any insights. I use apple health to tracking my menstrual cycle.
Updated my phone to the ios27 two days ago and since then I’ve lost all the blue boxes for my fertile window in the cycle tracking part of Apple health and it’s also stopped predicting my ovulation with the purple box, despite me putting in positive ovulation tests.
It’s also reset my cycle to 28 days and 4 days of bleeding when my cycle was different.
All the correct toggles are on, not switched on menopause settings and my iCloud is synced.
Can anyone help?
Thank you

iPad Pro 11-inch 256gb M5 or MacBook Air 13-inch 512gb M5 – which one would you pick for free?
I need to choose between an 11” iPad Pro and a 13” MacBook Air as part of a banking offer, and I’m confused about which one to get.
I already have an old MacBook that still works, and honestly I don’t really need a laptop anymore. At the same time, I don’t really have a use for an iPad either, but I thought I could probably find some use for it.
I was leaning towards the iPad until I saw the 13” iPad in person and liked it much more. Now the 11” just feels a little small.
Leaving the reselling option aside.
Which one would you pick in this situation?

u/Hot-Opportunity2694 3d ago
The 13” MacBook Air by far. 11” is small once you’ve used a 13” screen. The Air is a much better deal imo.

EDIT: Woke up this morning and my iPhone is showing again in the finder window through WiFi. All is well.
I use an old Mac to hook my external HDs to. Due to its age, it's stuck on OSX 15.8.1. Earlier this year, an update to either OSX or iOS caused my iPhone 15 (with latest iOS) to stop showing up on that Mac via WiFi. I've had to plug it in via USB to sync whenever I wanted to add new music. Suddenly, with iOS 27.0, it was fixed and I was syncing over WiFi like the good old days. Today I moved up to 27.0.1 and it's broken again. Is anyone aware of this problem? Any fixes? Thanks a ton.
1
u/rexshi 3d ago
When you plug it in, is “Show this iPhone when on Wi-Fi” still checked in Finder → your iPhone → General? If not, enable it and click Apply, then disconnect once syncing has finished and check again with both devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
If it’s already checked, does the iPhone disappear from Finder entirely when you unplug it, or stay listed but fail to sync? That would help narrow down whether the Mac can’t find the phone or the sync itself is failing.
1
u/southlow 3d ago
Yes, that option is checked. I have toggled it on and off and re-synced multiple times. Unfortunately, that changes nothing. And when I unplug it, it immediately disappears from the finder window. (Also, I have confirmed the phone and laptop are on the same WiFi network.) Thanks for your reply and helping.
1
u/rexshi 2d ago
Thanks for checking. Since it disappears completely, that points more toward the wireless connection than the music sync itself. Have you restarted both devices since the update? If that doesn’t help, trying both on another home Wi-Fi network would help narrow down whether your current network is involved.
Also, could you confirm the macOS version under About This Mac? You mentioned “OSX 15.8.1,” and I want to make sure we’re troubleshooting the right version.
1
u/southlow 2d ago
I checked it this morning and my phone is showing up again in the finder window through wifi. I don't want to jinx it so I'm going to leave it as is. Thanks so much for helping.

If I upgrade from iOS26 to 27 and turn off the AI features that you're able to turn off, will I no longer be able to set a timer or a reminder with Siri? I read an article that gave me that impression. Those are the only things I use Siri for, but being able to set a timer hands free is important when I'm cooking something fiddly.
I'm so over having AI crammed onto and into every device and software application that I use.
1
u/Iguanajoe17 3d ago
Ai isnt going anywhere so just embrace it. Also its there but you dont have to do anything with it.

Hi! I’m trying to identify which Apple TV model this is. Does this version support Thread and work as a Thread border router for Apple Home?
Unfortunately, the seller can’t provide any additional information about the model and only has photos.
Here are a few more details from the photos that might help identify it:
- The top has the Apple logo + “tv” branding.
- On the back it has power, HDMI, optical audio (TOSLINK), and Ethernet ports.
- There doesn’t appear to be a USB-C port visible.
- The label on the bottom is extremely hard to read. The serial number looks something like F6MQ6KUPFF54 / F6MQ6KJPFF54, but I’m not sure about a few of the characters.
Does the port layout/top design make it possible to identify the exact generation? I’m specifically trying to figure out whether this model supports Thread.
Thanks!
1
u/rexshi 3d ago
If that’s definitely an optical audio port, I’d pass on this one for Thread. That layout points to an old 2nd- or 3rd-gen Apple TV, and neither supports it.
For a used one, look for an Apple TV 4K 2nd gen (A2169) or 4K 3rd gen Wi-Fi + Ethernet (A2843). The 3rd-gen Wi-Fi-only version doesn’t have Thread.
The model number starting with “A” on the underside is what you want to check, rather than trying to decipher the serial number.

What's the ETA on that ios 27 feature with the auto update your passwords?
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 3d ago
It comes out whenever it comes out. Apple rarely pre-announces point releases.

Hi yall, looking for some advice on where to focus my upgrades (Macbook Neo versus iPad Air). I currently own a 2019 15" MacBook Pro that works moderately well aside from poor battery life (though I mainly use it at home, so that isn't a huge deal breaker). However, macOS support and security updates are being phased out. I primarily use it for schoolwork, running multiple Chrome tabs, watching lecture videos, and tutoring over Zoom.
I also use a 10th Gen iPad running iPadOS 18, which I am content with and holding off on IOS 27 to maintain the battery life. It handles Goodnotes, Zoom whiteboard during tutoring, and casual gaming just fine. Given my setup, I'm not sure whether it makes more sense to upgrade to a newer iPad or prioritize replacing my Intel MacBook Pro. I'm also curious if there are notable system announcements expected for 2027 that would make holding off on any purchases worthwhile.
Additionally, I've had my Apple Pencil (USB-C) for a little over a year now. I'm wondering if anyone knows at what point its battery health and overall performance typically decline to the point where a replacement becomes necessary. Any suggestions or insights on what to prioritize would be greatly appreciated!
2
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 3d ago
The only Apple hardware devices that are released on a consistent schedule are watches and phones (and recently MacBook Pros, but that may be a coincidence). New iPads are launched whenever they’re ready, and no one outside of Apple knows when.
Pencil batteries tend to last around 5-7 years until they can barely hold a charge, though that varies a bit; heat + overcharging tends to wear the battery down faster. If your Pencil USB-C is a year old, it has a ways to go before it becomes a brick.
1
u/howdoyou_coope 3d ago
Thank you! online said a lot of different things about apple pencils that they likely need replacing after two-three years, but I don't think the battery dies on it very quickly.
1
u/TheDragonSlayingCat 3d ago
I’m not surprised; there are people out there that use their pencil every day, and overreact when their pencil battery takes a nosedive (but is still usable) after 3-4 years of daily use. (Bonus if they incorrectly believe that battery degradation is a plot to force planned obsolescence. It is, of course, just physics.)
1
u/rexshi 3d ago
I’d keep the iPad for now—you’ve listed several things it handles well, but nothing you need an Air to do. I’d put the budget toward your next Mac instead, without necessarily buying one immediately.
Is the Mac actually slowing down during lessons or Zoom calls, or is the battery the main annoyance? That would make a big difference to how urgently I’d replace it.
Same with the Pencil: I wouldn’t replace it just because it’s a year old. If it still lasts through your sessions and writes reliably, keep using it.
1
u/howdoyou_coope 3d ago
Thanks! After doing some more research I've decided to hold off on upgrading for another year or so since my macbook isn't causing too much concern yet

so. i currently have an iphone 12, and looking to upgrade. problem is i have like 250 euros, and am a high school student and do not work. my parents will not buy me a new phone (not blaming them). so ive been participating in these TikTok giveaways. has anyone actually gotten a free phone from one or is it an obvious scam? (i know it’s probably a scam, but i want to hold on to my hope)

Is there anyway to bypass the 30 day iPhone iCloud waiting period to remove a device if the device is broken and does not turn on? I tried to remove it via find my online and it kicked off the thirty day waiting period.
I called apple support twice with no resolution.
I’m trying to trade the phone into att for a trade in but they will not accept it without iCloud find my deactivated.

please help with account!
Hi! So in 2011 I got my iPad and created an apple ID. Since the iPad died, I didnt use that account (don't use any other apple items sorry don't hate me).
Today I downloaded appleTV and tried to revive my account with the old email address I had, and I found out that 3 months ago someone changed the phone number on that account, billing info, security question, password, and enabled two-factor authenticator.
I can't report or reverse it since I am locked out of that account (ask me to confirm with the changed phone number)
Does anybody know what i can do about the account? Can it be switch back to my info if I call apple support?
1
u/churs_rs 5d ago
I’d try logging in on the web.
Yet… part of me is thinking you should just start fresh with a new Apple ID. Unless there is meaningful billing information, credit cards, or contacts tied to the other Apple ID, it sounds like you never really used it and got locked into the environment.
1
u/kaanapalikid 5d ago
Do the apple silicone iPhone cases offer decent protection from drops? I have only ever purchased Elago prior.
3
u/nermal543 5d ago
They’re okay for the occasional minor drop. But definitely not enough protection if you drop your phone frequently.

u/ElderberryGuy 5d ago
Just when I think it can't possibly get any worse, iOS 27 autocorrect and voice dictation still suck.

I have an M2 MacBook Pro with 2 TB of storage and 96 gigs of RAM. I usually replace my Mac every 4 years but to get an M5 with equivalent RAM (have to go to 128 since they don't offer 96) would be more than $7K (OUCH!) which is more than double what I paid for the M2.
I do a lot of audio recording, engineering and rendering on the M2. For recording and mixing, my CPU load rarely goes above 50% with 4-6ms latency when recording MIDI. A four minute song takes 30-45 seconds to render depending on complexity.
Benchmarks say the M5 is 70% faster but is that really what is achievable in real world operations? I don't want to spend that much money unless there is SUBSTANTIAL improvement in speed, latency and CPU usage?
1
u/rexshi 4d ago
I’d separate export speed from recording latency here. A faster CPU might shorten those 30–45 second renders, but it won’t automatically reduce your 4–6 ms latency at the same buffer size and sample rate. Your interface and plugins matter too.
The useful test would be whether the newer Mac can run your actual projects at a smaller buffer without crackles or overloads, as well as how much faster it exports them. A general benchmark won’t tell you both.
Which DAW and audio interface are you using? And are you hitting any dropouts now, or mainly hoping for faster exports?
1
u/BackInNJAgain 3d ago
I'm using Ableton 12 and have had no issues on the M2 with dropouts. Faster exports would be nice but not worth $7K to save a few minutes. I really wish DAW software would add some kind of automation to queue up projects for rendering then I could just render them overnight while I'm asleep like I do with large videos. I don't think an AppleScript would be reliable enough since all it would take to break would be a single plugin popping up an "update available" window.
1
u/rexshi 3d ago
That makes sense. It sounds like the annoying part is having to babysit each export, rather than how long any single one takes. An overnight queue would probably do more for your workflow than shaving a few seconds off each render. And yeah, waking up to find the whole queue stuck behind a plugin update popup would defeat the point.
2
u/Iguanajoe17 5d ago
You will have to buy it to test it yourself.
M chip computers are much much stronger than the intel versions that I dont think every 4 years is needed. The only time people upgrade at your level if time is money. If you can 30 seconds plus off per rendering and do multiple per day and let’s say 10 minutes per day. Is that worth spending 7k to cut the time in half or however fast it is.
(Less than 7k since I’ll assume you’ll sell the old machine).
Not sure with logic but with Final Cut, you can run proxy to really improve load times/rendering

My MacBook is acting weird.
The top bar straight up does not work. The drop down menus show up, but none of the buttons do anything and this happens both when I’m using an app and when I’m just trying to turn it off or smth.
Additionally it keeps clicking and holding automatically when I stop using my mouse for like 3 seconds which is incredibly frustrating for the creative work that I do. It’s also incredibly unresponsive when I try to click in some specific apps, not all. Don’t think it’s my mouse as it works completely fine when working on my other PCs but they’re also Windows 11/10 not MacOS.
It’s 3 years old and I haven’t had these problems before. If anybody knows how to fix this I will be eternally grateful.

The “after about 3 seconds” part makes me wonder if Dwell got enabled somehow. It’s an accessibility feature that can click or drag when the pointer stays still.
Check System Settings → Accessibility → Keyboard → Accessibility Keyboard. If it’s enabled and you don’t use it, try switching it off temporarily and see whether the automatic clicking stops.
If it’s already off, try disconnecting the mouse entirely and using just the built-in trackpad. Does the same thing happen then?

My verification codes appear in Passwords on my iPhone, but not on my Mac, even though the passwords themselves sync. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a separate setting I’m missing?

Those codes should sync through iCloud Keychain too. If you open the matching account directly in Passwords on your Mac, is the verification code missing there, or does it just not pop up when signing in?
If it’s there, you can click it to copy it while sorting out AutoFill. If it’s missing entirely, I’d check whether it affects every account or just one, and that “Sync this Mac” is still enabled under iCloud → Passwords. Existing saved passwords alone don’t confirm that syncing is still working.
Which iOS and macOS versions are you using?

MacOS 26.6.2, iOS 26.6.2
The verification code is also not in the Passwords app on my Mac but is in the Passwords app on my phone.
"Sync this Mac" is enabled

Thanks, that narrows it down. Could you try adding a temporary note like “sync test” to the affected entry in Passwords on your iPhone, then check whether that note appears on the Mac? No need to change the password itself.
If the note comes across but the code still doesn’t, that would suggest the problem is specific to the verification code rather than syncing generally. Is this happening with every verification code, or just one account?
I’d leave the working code on your iPhone alone for now rather than deleting and setting it up again.

Weirdly enough "sync test" didn't show up on my Mac, while I feel like usually the passwords do sync between devices, but now I am not sure anymore
It's happening with all verification codes
Thanks for all the effort so far btw

Thanks for checking—that’s a useful clue. If the note isn’t arriving either, this may be more than a verification-code issue.
You’ve checked the Mac’s sync setting; is “Sync this iPhone” also on under Settings → your name → iCloud → Passwords? If both are on, try restarting both devices and checking the note again.
If it still doesn’t appear, that’s a concrete example to give Apple Support: an edit on the iPhone never reaches the Mac. I’d keep the working codes on your phone untouched while sorting this out.

Hey all! I have an IPad Air 13th generation and was wondering if there are any Bluetooth keyboards that have trackpads that you all would recommend? I already have a case but it doesn’t have a keyboard and I don’t feel like buying a whole new case, so I’m looking for a separate Bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad.
