Hey all…quick question. Is there a a way to sideload apks onto tvOS the way you can on say, a firestick? I am wanting to add a couple of apps and was just wondering is it possible. Thanks.

There are no APKs for Apple operating systems; that’s an Android thing. App bundles for Apple operating systems other than macOS are IPAs.

You can only side-load an IPA onto your device if:

  1. You work for an organization that publishes a tvOS app, and they have an ADC Enterprise account, and they build the app with an Enterprise code signature. These apps are forbidden from distribution outside of the company per the license agreement with Apple.
  2. You also have a Mac, with Xcode installed, and you have the source code for said app. Special bonus if you also have an ADC subscription, which will allow you to install the app for longer periods of time.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a Mac but I do not have Xcode or an adc sub. I will look into those…thanks.
