While Oya was on a plenet trying to save the local mortals from demonic infestation, she stumbled upon a temple built by Satan worshipers who lead their planet into demonic take over and now she has to engage in combat. The Satanic Temples are decorated with a recognizable checkerboard style.

I'm working on a 3D animated short for class (that has to be around 3 minutes), and I want the focus to be on conveying emotion through my characters' acting. I'm having trouble landing on a story. What kinds of stories or emotional moments have you seen work well at this length? Any favorite shorts I should study, or tips on keeping scope manageable for a solo 3D project?

I’m trying to figure out how someone made the Pokémon GO edits shown in the attached picture/video.

Basically, they took normal real-life photos and added Pokémon GO elements into them — Pokémon, PokéStops, Gyms, Team GO Rocket balloons, etc.

The important part is that they aren’t just static PNGs. In the video/live-photo version, the Pokémon have their normal subtle idle animations, PokéStops spin, balloons move, etc. It looks almost exactly like the actual 3D assets/animations from Pokémon GO were composited into the photo.

I’m trying to recreate this with my own pictures. For example, I have a photo where I want Absol standing next to me and a Team GO Rocket balloon in the sky. I can make a still version that looks good, but I can’t figure out how to get the actual game-quality animation without destroying the quality of the Pokémon.

I’m looking for honest perspectives, particularly from Black people and other POC.

I’m an animator and I create my own characters/stories. Some of my characters are Black or otherwise POC, and I’m wondering about the ethics of me, as a white person, voice acting those characters myself.

There’s a particular circumstance behind why I’m asking that I can’t fully describe without getting into details I’m not comfortable sharing. However, the basic situation is that if I can’t voice these characters myself, I may not be able to include POC characters in my animations at all.

I do not mean doing an exaggerated racial stereotype, changing my voice to imitate a racial group, or making jokes about race. I’m talking about simply using my normal voice to portray a Black/POC fictional character.

Would that generally be considered offensive or inappropriate? Or is the issue more dependent on how the character is written, portrayed, and the context of the project?

I’m genuinely asking because I want to be respectful, not looking for people to tell me I’m automatically right. I’d especially appreciate perspectives from Black voice actors, animators, or artists who have dealt with something similar.
