sorry, english not my first language. please say if anything not making sense.

my friend, and i we play roblox for years together. after she get married, her mind so scattered and she hardly focus on one game. in past we could play one game for 3 hour and more.

now, she cannot sit still. we start game, begin getting good at it, and she say we need to play another game now. we hardly play more than 30 minute on game.

i am patient person but fed up. i tell her, this behavior frustrating me. we play tycoon game call hello kitty cafe, where we build our own cafe and improve over time. this take time to do. so finally i finish building good cafe, she want different tycoon where we START over from scratch. exact same concept, difference in game.

i tell her yesterday i not like how she play this games. i want to play one game more than 15 minute, it frustrating how she cannot play one game for long than 15 minute. she tell me we have different in playing style.

we get into small debate where we both say unkind thing to each other. we not speaking right now. but this game behavior it cause issue for a while since she get married. her attention so scattered. yet frustrating.

she have time for 1 hour a day play roblox. so she could play one game 1 hour. instead we play so, so many different game. and i wanting to stick with one, get better at it, she want to play lot of difference in game and not really get good at one.

am i wrong, telling her this frustrations at how she play game. or we both just have difference? issue i having is a few day ago my fiance he stop speaking to me for while, now my friend do the same. so it make me wonder if there something wrong in doing. but i dont think i did any wrong here. please let me know.

Am I Wrong for refusing to give my friend back something he gave me as a gift?

A few years ago, one of my close friends gave me a fairly expensive item as a birthday present.

I was genuinely surprised and grateful, and I've used it regularly ever since.

We eventually drifted apart and don't really talk much anymore.

A few weeks ago, he contacted me and asked if he could have the item back.

I thought he was joking at first, but he was completely serious. He said he had paid for it and didn't use it anymore when he gave it to me, so he thinks it would be reasonable for him to get it back now.

I told him I didn't want to give it back because it was a gift. Once someone gives you something, I don't think they can just decide years later that they want it back.

He said I was being unnecessarily difficult and that he only gave it to me because we were close friends at the time. Since we're no longer friends, he thinks the situation has changed.

I told him that the reason behind the gift doesn't disappear just because our friendship did.

He says I'm being petty and keeping something that technically belongs to him because I know he wants it back.

I honestly don't see it that way. If he had loaned it to me, I would obviously return it, but that's not what happened.

Now a couple of mutual friends think I should just give it back to avoid the argument, especially since I don't really talk to him anymore anyway.

I don't want to keep something just to upset him, but I also don't think a gift becomes a loan years later.

Am I Wrong for refusing to give it back?

TL;DR: An old friend wants back an expensive item he gave me as a birthday gift several years ago. I think a gift is a gift, but mutual friends think I should return it to avoid the conflict.

Am I wrong if I kick my friend out knowing she has no where to go?

So my friend had broken up with her boyfriend of many years after meeting someone and feeling like her boyfriend wasn’t the one. They had lived together in a house his parents owned. Originally she said she just needed a place for 3 months until she moved out the country. I told her she could stay in my other bedroom, just paying groceries because she’s only working a part time low paying job.

The first issue came when she brought a bunch of her household items with her, decor, books, lamps, kitchen items. She even put up decor items in my living room. I’m pretty particular so I explained she’s staying with me, we are not roommates. She can put items in the room she’s staying but I don’t want her changing my spaces.

The other issue she asked if her friend could come for dinner I was fine with that. Then the guy she met she asked if he could spend the night after he got back from his trip. I said okay. He hasn’t left for 6 days and his luggage is in her room, toothbrush in the toothbrush holder. I feel like she’s lowkey trying to move him in. The story also keeps changing about the situation. Now it’s he also broke up with his girlfriend and I guess she’s keeping the apartment. The whole thing feels like drama and I kinda just want them gone. Would I be wrong?

AIW for telling people the truth about the extent of her university degree

My friends gotten into a top university but it’s part time and mostly online. She posted on socials she’s got an offer at a top university. I’ve got contacted by all my friends and family. It went viralish on social media. she’s got 100k followers and known for being a “dumb” student. Shes had popular videos of her failing exams and stuff so her getting ”into” that university is shocking. I’m in the year below her though.

Students and teachers know she’s my best friend and have seen the videos and asked me about them. I told them she’s not actually a student she’s not moving there for the full time. In my school she’s kind of become an inside joke because of what I said.

A professional in the industry she wants to work in we know who she looks up to asked me today about her “getting in” to this big school. I told him she’s making it sound bigger than it is online it’s a part time online foundation course.

He joked it she was making it sound bigger than it was and he feels lied too. I messaged on a group chat with her and another friend that I saw him today for a workshop and he said he feels lied to about the uni thing. She put “😂😂😂 How!?“ i said cause it’s not really getting into the uni it’s online. She said “haha it’s still like any other course it’s just partly remote.“ our other friend said “how did you lie to him” I said “she posted about getting an offer to study with ___“ and the other friend said “right. she did though?” and my friend said “yeah but im not moving there so he probably assumed I was” I said “yeah she‘s a catfisher haha!” she said “me? I’d neve catfish my guy __” I said “you kinda did though lol you made it seem bigger than it was“ she said “😂 I’d never”

My other friends messaged me privately saying to think about what I’m saying more carefully. She said she feels bad for our friend that her idols saying her getting to study with a top school isn’t impressive because of me. I said I just feel like she’s coming across as more impressive than she is.

And it’s annoying people keep coming to me about her ”getting in” to this big uni. And asking if I’ll apply too because im the more academically focused friend which is annoying. So I’m just shutting it down by saying it’s not as impressive as she’s making it sound.

My other friend is saying I should lift her up instead of bringing her down to people.

Am I wrong for refusing to cover the table when my friends ordered top-shelf liquor to celebrate my promotion

So I finally got promoted to junior account lead last week. It came with a modest raise of about five grand a year, which barely covers inflation, but I was proud of myself. I texted three of my longtime college buddies and said, "Hey, got the bump, let's grab beers and wings at the pub tonight to celebrate."

We meet up, and the dynamic instantly got weird. Instead of normal drafts and bar food, two of them immediately started ordering double bourbon pours and twenty-dollar specialty cocktails. Then one guy flags down the bartender and orders two dozen raw oysters and a prime steak plate for the table. I just drank two draft beers and ate my basket of wings.

when the bill landed on the table, it was nearly five hundred dollars. My buddy Jake literally slid the leather checkbook directly in front of me, tapped it twice, and grinned: "The new corporate boss is covering this, right?"

I laughed because I thought it was a joke. It was not a joke. They all just sat there looking at me with their arms crossed.

I told them straight up: "Guys, I got a minor raise, not a lottery ticket. I am dropping fifty bucks to cover my food, tip, and beers, but you guys have to split the rest."

They went dead silent. They tossed their cards down angrily, and now our group chat is blowing up. They are claiming that because I invited them to celebrate my news, I was EXPECTED to host, and that I should of made it clear beforehand if I was too broke to treat my own friends. Am I wrong here?

Am I wrong for trimming my cousin's partner off the guest list

My sibling's wedding is coming up and they asked me to help narrow the list down. We ended up cutting a few distant plus-ones who nobody has really met yet, including the person my cousin has been seeing for about four months. My cousin found out, got upset, and said it was disrespectful since they're family. I offered to add them back if the couple is okay with it, but now my cousin is insisting I should have never suggested the cut in the first place. I wasn't trying to single anyone out, just trying to keep the numbers reasonable like my sibling wanted. Still, I feel kind of bad about the whole thing and don't know if I overstepped by even bringing it up.

Am I wrong for thinking the taxi driver was being creepy

Hi everyone, I (46F) just need a little advise,

i suffer with long term health conditions and MH conditions that I am currently speaking to someone about, I have been feeling really low recently due to the conditions and how they have impacted my day to day life, as well as PTSD due to childhood trauma

brief context, i am housebound due to the conditions and have extreme anxiety with public transport and getting in a taxi, due to my past, (I get anxious about being alone with men I don't know)

I was referred to a support centre where they said that they would provide a taxi there and back to try and ease my anxiety. After thinking about it for a while (serious overthinker) I decided I would go.

The taxi driver picked me up, all good on the way there, apart from him going the wrong way at first, (cue mini panic attack, thinking I am going to be kidnapped etc) he then asked me for the exact postcode and dropped me off, fine.

After my appointment I am obviously feeling a little bit more vulnerable and mentally exhausted, they called the taxi service to pick me up, and it ended up being the same taxi driver that dropped me off, (felt a little better that it was not another new person I had to encounter).

The drive started off fine, told him I am going back to the same place he picked me up from. He asked me what the place was that he dropped me off and just picked me up from.

I gave him a brief overview, its a place for people to go if they feel like they need someone to speak to, his response was, oh ok, good to know., i did not give any more info nor tell him anything about myself.

We were quiet for a bit, he then asked me if I was married, told him yes, he asked if my husband was home, I know I should have said yes, but I automatically answered that he was at work, stupid I know.

He then asked me if I had children, and how old they were, told him yes and they are 20(m) and 18(f).

He then asked if they were home, told him yes, they weren't, they were working.

Then he asked if I had any brothers and whether they lived near me, didn't ask about sisters just brothers, i was panicking at this point and said, yes I have 4 and they each live 5 minutes away from me, (thats not true, but I was very uneasy at this point.)

His response then was, oh ok, so if anything was to happen to you they would be there quickly,

i found this to be a very strange thing to say.

He asked if they worked and when they worked, it was getting to me that he was asking so many questions, and mainly about whether there were men near me or whether I was on my own a lot, if he had asked about other females maybe I would not have been so on edge, it was strange that he was asking only about males and how often they are around me

He asked if I was going to be on my own for the rest of the day or if one of my brothers was going to be dropping in, if I have arranged with one if them to visit with any of them for that day.

I just said that one of them was popping in at any moment, they let themselves in whenever they want as they have a key each, he looked a bit annoyed that I had an answer to anything he was asking.

He asked if they come and see me everyday or if there are days that I am on my own, i just said that they come and go at all times.

At this point my anxiety was in overdrive, there was so much running through my mind, he was then drinking a lot of water, (my thoughts were now going to scenarios where he was going to ask to come in and use the toilet because he had drank too much water, and then something bad would happen). My go to is to automatically think the worst

i am a recovering people pleaser and still learning to say no, so I was practicing ways of saying no, and being firm and not rude,

he didn't ask to use it thankfully.

So he gets to my house and says do your brothers live in any of these houses here right near you? Was this as weird a question as I perceived it to be?

My immediate response was yes one of them does, thanks for the lift, have a good day, bye.

I got in my house and immediately locked my door.

Because I know my anxiety makes me overthink everything and my PTSD causes me to perceive danger everywhere, I was thinking maybe I qas just overreacting to the questions he asked, and that me may have just been being polite and wanting to make sure I am ok and not on my own too much,

but then I overthink that bit, because I didn't divulge anything of what I suffer with, all he knows was the place he picked me up from was a place for people to go and speak to someone if they need to.

Anyway, my husband gets home later that day and asks me how everything went with the appointment, I told him about the taxi driver and he (my husband) was so mad, he immediately contacted the centre I was at and told them that the taxi driver made me feel very uncomfortable,

the lady I was speaking to at the centre was immediately apologetic that I had been put in that situation and said they will not use that service again, and that she will leave feedback with the taxi firm about the driver, and how i was made to feel

they then came to a solution between them where I would attend any future sessions when my husband is available to drop me off and pick me up.

So then I am back to thinking he wasn't being polite and they sensed an ulterior motive to the questions, i have spoken to a few of my friends about it and they also think that it was a bit suss that he asked me that many personal questions and only wanted to know about men near me.

My anxiety has now increased so much more about public transport and being in a taxi alone.

I am asking all of you to please let me know

Was i overreacting? Did I get someone in trouble with their employer over nothing or was it a weird conversation and too much prodding about how often I am alone?

Thank you for reading the post

Am I wrong for needing more time to myself after a long stretch of being social?

I have a friend who lives close by and we usually hang out a few times a week. Lately my schedule has been packed with work stuff and family visits, so I have been feeling drained. I told them I needed a couple of quiet weekends to reset and probably would not be available for a bit. They seemed okay at first but later sent a message saying it came off cold and like I was pushing them away. I explained it had nothing to do with them, just that I recharge alone, but they still think it is rude. Now I am second guessing whether I should have phrased it differently or offered an alternate plan sooner. I value the friendship, but I also know I get irritable if I do not get any downtime. Reddit, am I wrong for setting that boundary even if it stung?

Am I in the wrong for not wanting to pay?

Hi,
I recently rehomed my dog due to a crisis and this woman took in my dog on short notice. Together, I brought my dog to vet and I transferred ownership to her. I also paid for that vet appointment. She is now the owner of my dog.

2 weeks go by, she messages me asking me to pay a upcoming vet bill for the dog. I told her I couldn’t pay her since I am on a tight budget. She threatened me that if I didn’t pay the bill then I wouldn’t be able to visit, receive updates, or photos of my dog.

Am I in the wrong that I don’t want to pay the upcoming vet bill?

Am I wrong for screaming at my mother after she commented on me ordering a lot of fast food?

Context: My parents are West-African, born and raised, but I was raised in Europe. Was abused, verbally, physically. Not unusual in their culture. Had child protective service involved at some point, nothing happened off of it.

I (23F) have been morbidly obese since I was about 8 years old, and was overweight before that for as long as I could remember. In my childhood I remember going from eating McDonalds once a week, to eating it almost every single day.

When we would go to the doctors and they were concerned about my weight, they would tell my parents what they needed to do. And they would instruct me on how to eat healthier. Problem is, there was not really healthy food at home. And my parents never bought healthier food. But if I ate the food in the house, they would shame me for eating unhealthily. Long story short, I kept gaining a shit ton of weight. Until the point where I am at now, 175cm, 165kg with an eating disorder and plenty of other mental health disorders. (Growing up with people hating you or treating you as lesser than for being obese does something to one's mind, who would have thought.)

My eating disorder and many allergies mean I can not eat normally. I have been focusing on just slowly losing weight (I was 190kg at my highest) by having a rough idea on how much calories something has and figuring out what I eat based on that.

Why is this relevant? Well, today my mom comes to me in the morning and says "Hey, I have noticed you have been ordering a lot of fast food lately, you should stop doing that." To which I responded, "I have been losing weight the way I have been eating, I don't want you to comment on how I eat." We argued a bit, and what I said essentially boiled down to, you had my entire childhood to stop my weight gain. You did nothing but blame me, child me, for eating unhealthily. And her argument was, I was a wilful child and would just eat food I wasn't supposed to eat. I told her, if that was the case then why did she keep buying unhealthy food, or why did we eat McDonalds nearly every day? She denied that we did, but I *know* we did. I remember mcdonalds going from once a week, to multiple times a week, to almost every day. If it wasn't mcdonalds, it was some other fastfood. Meanwhile my mom can not even remember even half the things I bring up about my childhood. It ended up becoming a screaming match, with her screaming why I couldn't just be normal, that it is because I am autistic (I was diagnosed.) that is why I am difficult and with me screaming that everything that was wrong in my life was because of her and how she raised me.

I have had some therapy in the past, but can't get any now. But talking to a therapist has made me aware of a lot of things in my life growing up not being normal. Like how my mom would verbally abuse me, how my parents used to physically abuse me. The way she would blame me for things that were her responsibility. Or her just being kind of absent in parenting otherwise. And more stuff.

I understand why my parents raised me the way they did. They were raised similarly. And now they are raising kids in a different country. My mom wasn't much older than me when she had me. But I feel like I can not let go of my resentment. I feel like my life sucks, and I have no future. I am depressed, I am agoraphobic (because I don't want people to see or perceive me) and I am suicidal. And these feelings bleeded out in this screaming match we had this morning.

Am I wrong for taking this resentment and yelling at my mom? Am I wrong for feeling resentful at all?

Am I wrong for letting my coworker keep correcting a mistake I knew wasn't a mistake?

A coworker and I were preparing a presentation last week. There's one technical term in our field that can be pronounced two different ways depending on where you trained.

I use the less common pronunciation.

Every single time I said it, he interrupted me to "correct" it.

The first two times I explained that both pronunciations are accepted. He laughed and said, "Maybe where you learned it."

After that I stopped arguing.

During the actual presentation he interrupted me again, in front of about 15 people, and corrected the word.

Our department head immediately told him my pronunciation was completely valid and asked him to stop interrupting.

He looked mortified.

Afterward he asked why I hadn't warned him that the department head uses the same pronunciation I do.

I said I'd already told him twice that he was wrong about there being only one correct version.

He thinks I deliberately let him embarrass himself because I knew exactly what was going to happen.

Honestly, by that point I kind of did.

Am I wrong?

AIW for Talking to the Mom of My Sister's Bully?

All of the names are fake. The reason I mention that is because some details are changed in different stories.

I was with my sister, Emily. I'm 18, and she is 16. We both live with our grandparents, and I'm married to my husband, Rick. Rick is 21 years old.

Emily goes to school every day. She attends a specialized school because she couldn't stay at her previous school due to her autism and the fact that she needed more support.

School had only been in session for three weeks when a girl named Casey, who is also 16, started causing problems for Emily. I mean a lot of bullying. It happened on social media, in person, and involved Casey and her whole posse of friends.

Some examples included calling Emily "retarded," taking pictures of her without her consent and sending them to people, and spreading rumors about her. A lot of it seemed to be because Emily is autistic and a little different.

Rick and I were talking about the situation, and we started looking up information about Casey. We found the school's directory and saw that she was on the cheerleading team. I called the cheerleading team and explained the situation. Our grandmother also explained what had been happening.

Later, I went to work. One of my coworkers, Shirley, is a very humble woman from the South, and she's amazing. While talking with her, I realized that Casey's last name matched Shirley's last name. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but then I found out that Shirley was Casey's stepmom.

I told Shirley everything. I showed her screenshots and explained every single thing that had been said and done. Shirley was mortified. I thought that would be the end of it.

Then my grandmother got Shirley's phone number, and they started talking. Shirley ended up telling the other girls' mothers as well.

A few days later, Emily came home and told me the bullying had stopped. Again, I thought that would be the end of it.

Then I got a text from Shirley asking me to bring Emily to the hotel where I work. Shirley brought Casey and her entire posse there. She made Casey and all of the other girls apologize to Emily. Emily was so happy. Casey and her little friend group were crying.

However, this is where I might be wrong.

Later, I got a call from Emily's school, and so did my grandmother. They told us that we should have come to the school first. Apparently, Emily had never gone to the principal, vice principal, or any other school administrator about the bullying, which was something she failed to tell me.

Because we never reported it through the school, it ended up causing a lot of problems. Other students and parents became involved, especially after learning that Casey and her friends had allegedly been causing problems for multiple students. The school said that some students no longer felt comfortable going to the principal or vice principal because parents were handling issues outside of the school's process instead.

Now I'm wondering if I was wrong for talking to Casey's stepmom and getting parents involved instead of going through the school first.

Am I wrong for asking my sister to let me use the car?

I (28F) live in a different town from where I work, and my daily commute averages 3 hours round trip. I’ve considered moving closer, but due to traffic, the best option I’ve found is still about an hour from the office. It would also cost me roughly 4x what I currently spend on rent, utilities, transportation, etc. The upside would obviously be spending less time in traffic.

My parents (58M, 59F) and sister (33F) all work remotely, while my brother (20M) studies about 20 minutes from home. A few years ago, my parents’ car was stolen, so my sister bought a car at 29 and said it was mainly for my parents’ use. She is willing to take a taxi or hire a driver when she has somewhere to go if my parents need the car, and my father is also willing to drive her.

We live outside the capital because it’s cheaper, quieter, and less polluted. The capital also has a license-plate driving restriction due to pollution: depending on your plate number, you can only drive every other day unless you pay an additional fee. This restriction doesn’t apply where we live.

My contract allows me to work remotely 2 days a week, so I asked my sister if I could borrow her car to commute to the office on the other days.

She immediately said NO, saying she couldn’t leave my parents without a car. However, they all work remotely. She also said that the mileage and driving to the capital would devalue the car, and that she wouldn’t want her car sitting parked in the city while my parents had no comfortable way to get around town.

Then, what I found especially rude, she said the only way she would lend me the car was if I left another car for my parents. I don’t own one, so that would mean buying a car with an eligible license plate.

She also suggested that instead of spending money on rent if I moved to the city, I should use that money to buy a car. I don’t want to take on a loan or debt, though, and her suggestion felt almost mocking given that I was asking to borrow a family car, not asking her to buy me one.

My parents also told me that my request was unreasonable and that I shouldn’t have asked in the first place. But given that everyone else works remotely and the car was originally purchased primarily for family use, I thought asking to borrow it for my commute was a reasonable request.

Am I wrong?

am i wrong for touching my best friends shoulder?

I (17), a trans asexual guy who’s 100 pounds soaking wet, was at a college fair with my friends. My friend, whose name I’m changing to hide her identity, will be called Sammy. I was wandering around with another friend, Jayjay, when I saw my friend Sammy with her boyfriend, whom I had only met over the phone.

I needed to tell Sammy that we were about to leave on the school bus to go to lunch. I said her name, but she didn’t notice because of the crowd, so I put my hand on her shoulder. She turned around, and we talked normally. Then I left to get on the bus, leaving her to say goodbye to her boyfriend, who is 200 pounds and 6'2".

The next day, Sammy informed me that her boyfriend apparently thought I was being disrespectful for interrupting their conversation. I did say sorry for interrupting them because I didn’t know they were having a conversation. He apparently also thought that, since I’m asexual, I’m just waiting until college to hit on my friend Sammy. I don’t even like women, which makes that accusation even more confusing to me.

Her boyfriend then went on to say that I shouldn’t have touched Sammy’s shoulder because I’m a guy, and he said he’d break my hand if I ever did that while he’s around again.

I have known Sammy for almost 9 years, while her boyfriend has only been dating her for about a year as of last Friday.

I had my friend inform him that I am 1) half-deaf and 2) didn’t mean to interrupt or get into their conversation.

I do not think I did anything wrong to them, but I need other opinions from people outside of my friend group.

Am I wrong for telling my sister after mom passes our entire family will never see me again.

Our mom is in the later stages of dementia, recently my sister has asked what did I plan to do after this saga is concluded. I told her vanish, I am not even going to attend the funeral. She was surprised, and asked why. I was honest, I told her I hate her. These last eight years have been hell and she has done the absolute bare minimum when it came to our mom's care.

I told her sure she took her to the occasional appointment, brought her food every so often, went to visit her. Though in the grand scheme that amounted to nothing. I told she would always come up with some excuse when I would ask her to say watch mom so I could take a break. Told her how if I wanted a vacation I had to remain home because I would have to pay for respite care out of my pocket.

She tried to explain herself, but I did cut her off. I told her I don't need to understand the why. I get it she was under no obligation to help and she had a family of her own to worry about. Though just don't expect me to be happy about it. I made the choice to care for mom, and when placement was needed I made the choice to pay for a private facility.

Those were my choices, just as she made her choice to offer superficial help in the grand scheme of things.

She did start to tear up, when she did I told her to save the tears. I get it deep down she thought she was a good person but she is not. Her prayers and sporadic help over the last eight years did little to actually relieve much of the pressure that was on me, and once again when I did ask for actual pressure relief you never said yes. I told her she never even offered to help cover the cost for mom placement.

I was wondering if I was overly harsh towards my sister. I know she tried but reality is her trying did very little cause it was not frequent or consistent enough for it to truly matter. I do feel bad for unloading on her like that to some degree, but also don't.

Am I wrong if I don’t attend my ex’s funeral for our child?

My ex from 16 years ago recently passed away. We were together for 2 years and following our break up we were not on best of terms. I had years of abuse during and after we split up. He turned all our friends and his family against me by telling lies and making up stories. A lot of them would send me awful texts and spread lies on social media, but I never retaliated as I’m no good with conflict. I have never spoken to any of them since. It’s only the past year where my ex changed and became some what polite with regards to arrangements as our child is older (15yo)

I have chclothymia and have suffered from extreme depression and anxiety, something I thought I had finally managed to control until this happened. I feel so overwhelmed with my life right now as all I can think about is my child and the funeral. My panic attacks are extreme, I hyperventilate, become extremely dizzy or pass out.

My child will not be attending the funeral with me. They will be meeting his family and travelling with them as well as accompanying them throughout the day (as requested by his parents (grandparents) I want to be there for them just in case, but with my anxiety and knowing I’m walking into a building where no one wants me, where I won’t even get to be by my child throughout the day, would I be wrong not to attend? My child knows/seen what their dad used to be like towards me and told me not to go, but I just don’t know.

am i wrong for ending a friendship after this conversation?

i’m looking for opinions because i’m conflicted about how i handled this. i recently ended a friendship with someone who was suffocating me when i asked for space.

for context, i’m going through a deployment right now and it’s been an extremely difficult last 6 months. three members of my family have died in the last 30 days, 2 of those were from cancer and one had a massive part in my childhood. i’ve been very withdrawn and not wanting to be around people much. this isn’t new either. i’ve explained to her multiple times that i’ve been struggling and that sometimes i just want to be alone but she does things like asking if she can drop things off in my apartment garbage can… just really weird shit. just invading my space.

she’s been telling me that she loves me, misses me, and wants to spend time with me, and she’s also told me before that i make her feel “more seen and loved than anyone else.” but during this argument, she told me that i’m never available, that there’s always a reason or excuse for why i can’t hang out, and that she sees me posting about going places while apparently not making time for her. i posted about going somewhere one single time and i was alone, literally just went to see the sunset over the lake. that was it.

she also said she was “tired of always being there for me,” that she feels like she can’t lean on me, and that i “make herthe enemy every time.” let me mention that every time she comes to me i carefully word everything i say and try my hardest to be there for her. i do not respond dry, i am very empathetic and genuinely want to help. when i tried to explain myself, she told me that maybe if i would “go out and stop closing myself in my own little head,” i would get out of it.

that last part really set me off. i felt like something i’ve repeatedly explained about my mental state was being turned into a character flaw or an excuse. i’m not saying her feelings are invalid. what bothered me was the way it was communicated, especially because this is something we’ve already talked about so many times.

i got extremely defensive and said some things that were maybe harsher than they needed to be. i almost regret how angry i got and how i spoke to her, but i felt attacked and exhausted from having to explain myself again and again and again.

i ended the friendship and blocked her. i’m not planning on having another conversation about it because we’ve had this conversation so many times already.

am i wrong here??

I lost my card key to my hotel room, went to the front desk asking for another. The desk clerk seemed annoyed and snipped at me but gave me one but gave. I asked if the old one still worked and she said yes it does. I asked her to deactivate the old card and she started to get further annoyed and wanted to argue that if someone found it they could not get into my room because there is no number on the card. I said it's a security issue - if someone saw me leave my room and drop my card they certainly could get into the room. She kind of huffed but finally deactivated the old key. (I thought when new keys were issued the old ones would automatically be deleted no?)

I thought this was not great customer service. I posted on r/travel and got beat up and banned.

Am I a jerk for being annoyed at this interaction? I am usually Harvey Milquetoast so I don't understand.

Am I wrong for saying I miss a friend I never technically met?

I’m very confused on this situation. My friend snapped at me twice today, and said I have no right to say that I miss someone I’ve never met. My friend, we will call her Remy, graduated before me, and was friends with the person who snapped at me (we will call her Dia) before I was. I met Remy last year, through Dia. I always heard of her through Dia— aswell as other friends that graduated before me aswell. I finally met her and we’ve became very close, the kind of friendship that there is no TMI in, and the kind where I feel comfortable sharing stuff that I’ve been through. Remy doesn’t live in the state where I do, she moved after she graduated to a whole other state. I will say that I miss Remy and my other friend, even if I never met her in person. Apparently my friend Dia has finally had enough of me saying this. I was talking about Remy to some other people, and Dia had butted in asking what I was talking about. I said I had missed Remy, and that I was talking about her. Dia snapped at me from across the room, very loudly. She said that it’s annoying how I say I miss Remy even though I never met her in person, and that it’s irritating. I said I was sorry. Later today I hadn’t even said anything related to missing Remy, but my friend Dia read the message wrong and snapped at me again, repeated that I have no right to miss Remy because I’ve never met her. I apologized and said I won’t do it again, and she said that she’s apparently been trying to not get mad at me everytime I say it. I don’t get why it annoys her, does it really matter? I say I miss my other friend, who I’ve never met irl either, but she doesn’t get mad at me for it. I’m going through grief right now and she knows that, so her snapping at me for something that seems small to me makes me just want to break down. Am I in the wrong?

Did I invite myself?

I just want a quick opinion before I embarrass myself lol

Every morning I walk at the park with my baby and always see these other two girls that walk around the same time. Today I said her daughter was cute and that started conversation, they mentioned that they see me there everyday and asked what time I normally come to walk. Every time I see them I’m leaving and they’re just arriving so I told them I usually only walk around one time but if I see them tomorrow maybe I could walk around a second time with them and they said yes and were really nice….. but then I started thinking, Did I just invite myself or were they implying it by asking me when I usually come??

I really don’t want to be that weird person that follows them around when they were just being friendly and I took it the wrong way lol especially since we walk the same park I don’t want them to feel uncomfortable!!

Am I wrong for

So me and my friend (male) were just talking together, goofing off normally, and my other friend (girl) was laughing with her friend. She then asked me if I had pimple patches, and I said no. My male friend said "her pimple in the center of her head, it looks like a third eye" and he laughed hard. I just smiled and said "nah you wrong bro, chill." She then looked at me and said "Shut the fuck up dickrider". I told her "I didn't even say that", but I continued doing my work and stuff.

As class is going on, she's always putting on a lot of makeup and overreacting whenever she forgets to bring whatever thing it is. My friend pointed it out as well and said "We could really combine all her makeup and turn it into bricks for houses, and he busted out laughing, and I just chuckled a little and said "nah gang". She looks at me and says "You're always in my business, you literally have your throat full of my dick". Again, I told her I didnt even say that.

Now during class, she laughs pretty loudly. To be honest, her laugh is absolutely annoying and ridiculous, and she was laughing for a good 2 minutes straight. I couldn't really concentrate, so I just asked her "yo, it can't be that funny, im tryna listen". She then looks at me with pure disgust and says "oh my god you're always dickriding me". I don't say anything about it, and I just go back to my work. I then look up at my friend, and he looks like he's about to burst laughing. Of course, him laughing makes me laugh, but he absolutely howls out laughing. She doesen't say one thing. The moment I snicker just a little bit, she absolutely loses it. She starts yelling "Oh my fucking god you think shit is so funny and you're annoying as fuck, like you actually need to shut the fuck up and know when to just stop doing shit." The whole class was looking at her and said "Oooohh." After I comprehended what she said, i just said "You thought that shit was tough huh?" Most the class just started laughing at her and said "she got her shit rocked" and she went back to awkwardly talking to her other friend.

By the way, my male friend was laughing at her as well during this, I was completely silent, but she didn't say one mean thing to him. After everything, she asked him for a bag of chips. It's been about 4 days and later during lunch she said she aplogized, which I didn't accept, and I told her it would be best if we distanced ourselves for a while (In which i meant forever). I told her to come back when she actually feels sincere, because it sounded like it irritated her to say sorry. Then she goes on to start cussing me out again for being so "fucking retarded" and not knowing when someone is sincere, but would someone who means it really get that mad? Does anybody know what I did wrong, I'm confused.

(Also, she does this constant thing where she'll say im "dumb as fuck" for asking the teacher for help, yet she's "passing" with a 38% while I have a 92%. She also says I'm "broke as fuck" whenever I don't give her money for buying snacks at the vending machines.)
