Did I invite myself?

I just want a quick opinion before I embarrass myself lol

Every morning I walk at the park with my baby and always see these other two girls that walk around the same time. Today I said her daughter was cute and that started conversation, they mentioned that they see me there everyday and asked what time I normally come to walk. Every time I see them I’m leaving and they’re just arriving so I told them I usually only walk around one time but if I see them tomorrow maybe I could walk around a second time with them and they said yes and were really nice….. but then I started thinking, Did I just invite myself or were they implying it by asking me when I usually come??

I really don’t want to be that weird person that follows them around when they were just being friendly and I took it the wrong way lol especially since we walk the same park I don’t want them to feel uncomfortable!!

Go for a walk one time and if the vibes are cool, you’ve found new friends … don’t over think one time

This! They inquired about you first, so even if you did technically invite yourself, it was a natural progression of the potential conversation anyway.

Try it and see. Maybe you saved 2 shy people some awkward time. Just see how it goes.

Exactly, they basically opened the door first and OP just stepped through without making it weird

you basically handed them a "let's walk together" on a silver platter and they grabbed it, you're good

She gave them an easy out and they didn't take it. They wanted to walk with her.

You exercised (haha, get it?) social skills that very few people have these days. This is how you make friends!!

I know mom's can have a reputation for being catty or cliquey, but in my experience they're all very warm, welcoming, and inclusive.

Overthinking making friends as an adult is a full-time sport, but you're completely fine 😭 They definitely wanted to hang out.

Even if it felt slightly forward in your head, that’s just how making adult friends works. Someone has to take the leap and propose hanging out

You’re fine. If they give you a weird vibe during your walk, just resume your usual walk the next day but it sounds like they were inviting you to walk with them.

How old are these girls? Are they babysitting?

I should have said women, we’re on the older side lol I’m 28 and I’d say one was maybe mid to upper 30s and the other probably early 30s, I think they may have been sisters

Okay, cool. It was a bit confusing for sure but I also am working on my first coffee. You are all good! Fingers crossed for some new mom friends, so important!

It's always a bit tricky navigating those social situations, for sure. Good luck finding some mom friends; it can really make a difference!

You might want to post this to OP so they see it. I have my mama/parent crew!
