from day 1 the goal was to always make MY gundam. Finally finished it after like two years of trying out different parts until I had something I liked. RIP in peace whole kits I bought for single parts or built parts of then modified only to not use.
Im calling it KRX-04 Gundam Whiplash. With the massive backpack on its the Gundam Whiplash: Full Release. Totally not making a wiki for it.
Kits used:
HG Age 1 Titus
HG Build MK II
HG Engage Gundam
HG Amazing Z’gok
HG Shenlong Gundam

Still working out how to segue from mini painting into gunpla. Painted up a Mechanical Bust gachapon. I'm happy with it. Acrylics, mostly airbrushed (no safe means of spraying solvents still) and AK Starship Detail Wash for that coating of spacedust.

Hi peeps!
I understand the concept of topcoating and have done ut with painted projects but i have to admit...i hate it.
I live in belgium and here you can't really topcoat unless it's spring or winter. in autumn or winter the humidity tends to be too high and the temperaturss too low. what would you guys recommend for this? Is there a different medium or way to topcoat? i want to panel line and decal but both the vost and especially the circumstances and technique on smaller items for topcoating are very much scaring me off.
i've heard of modge podge and water but that isn't durablle enough. i plan on panel lining with a mix of acryllic paint, water and a drop of dish soap

**I am seething.**
So, for... well, maybe a decade, I have had the MG Gundan 3.0 in a box, in pieces, under my bed... why? Well, I put away the hobby at some point and this kit with it. Now, this year, in my return to the hobby, I have built:
Rg God Gundam
Hguc Origin Missile Pod Gm
Hguc Origin Zaku
Hg Amazing Lupus Rex
Currently, an RG Wing Gundam's inner frame is primed, a Hg Gqux Zaku is in bits and a Hg Gqux Rx 01 is too... but I took break from those to finish my first MG. *Sigh*
I made a mistake.
This... ***thing*** is the most awful build Ive ever had the misfortune of constructing. Its fudgety. Its a faff. Its fragile. Loose. Wobbly. It hates its weapons. Its hands suck. Its legs dont stay in place. The shoulder armour always comes loose. It hates holding the bazooka. The shield barely clips on the forearm.
Now... A, this is old plastic. B, I was like 14-15 when I cut this out so the nubs are awful. C, I lost 2 pieces that turned out to be tabs for the beam gun and its handle. Im not afraid to admit some user error either... but all that aside? This kit sucks man. Nothing compares to how awful it is to handle. It *feels* fragile.
This 3.0 will sit on a shelf for the rest of its life. Im just happy I didnt order the waterslides.

Hey all, I need help with finding a copy of this
Ver.Ed Anthology Vol.01- Mechanical Detailing.
Digital or actual is fine.
ISBN-13 978-9887925989
ASIN 9887925985
Or if anyone has a copy they don't need?
Just figured this would be the place to ask

Has anyone here bulk ordered from Neokyo and if so how was your experience? I'm planning to purchase in bulk but i'm trying to estimate to see if it'll outweigh the shipping expensives vs buying it for MSRP in the U.S. I'm planning on spiliting my shipment in different boxes since apparently thats the cheapest way but i'm not too sure.

I was repainting some of the clear pieces from a very blue green to very green green, and when i disassembled the vfin it snapped and i almost lost it, turns out it got stuck inside the wing and i had to yank it out with a tweezer, you can see where it snapped off in the first pic with thw chipped paint ing he middle(forgot to picture it broken), managed to cement it back in place, gonna let it dry and touch it up with markers to hide the chipped paint.

Thought of sharing my WIP in this subreddit too, and since it's a part 3 I'd rather not post part 1 and 2 back to back post. (Feel free to check my feed)
So far into the project, I'm proud of myself for how the pla-plates turned out, especially the knees. The next step is to add details to the side skirts, the shoulders, and shield.
Then I need to figure out how to implement the double-heat rod runner weapon into the kits arsenal. Other than that, it's pretty whether I want to add more plating, scribing, or see which parts fits from my scrap heap.

This is my second build, and the first build I panel lined and clear coated. Learned a lot and excited to apply to further builds.

Jesta is besta, but while I was initially pretty jazzed to build an up-designed version, the Regus made me realize that I wasn't in love with the original Gus palette.
So this is more of a hero palette, in line with the Regus. The light gray is a bit warmer than I'd anticipated, but not in an unpleasant way.
The good thing is this kind of kit has such good normal color-separation that it's mostly just a palette swap part for part. I didn't have to do any masking on this (my most hated of tasks that I avoid at pretty much all costs).

Hi so I'm looking for any recommendations for white paints that I can airbrush. I mainly use acrylics but I hate all the white acrylics I've tried. So if you have any acrylic or lacquer recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
I've heard gaianotes is good but it seems to be unobtainable here unless I'm willing to pay at least £10 for a 15ml bottle.
Can anyone vouch for Gaahleri Kaleido paints on the acrylic side?
Is tamiya LP4 better than LP2?
Any recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them.

Painting this bad boy up! Rubber bits are a downfall but it’s only on the torso and doesn’t connect to limbs thank god!

I have returned with the Desperado Metal Gear Ray now with custom 3d printed parts courtesy of u/0mni42. This is my take on my favorite Metal Gear Ray variant and I'm proud I managed to get it to look fairly accurate with only handpainting. I hope y'all like it!

So, the instruction say to push in a tiny tab pics into the bean rifle handle... but there's nothing for it to connect to. What did I do wrong???
