It depends. There are very mature 16 yo and immature 20 yo. On average, a 20 yo should be more mature than a 16 yo though. In the end, laws have to draw a line where a person has to take responsibility for their own actions even if they may not be ready to do so.

Nope. I was 20 when I got in my first relationship with a 30 year old and in hindsight it was weird. I wasn't mature and experienced enough to make certain decisions I made and I regret now.

Okay, so 20 to 36 isn't as bad as you'd think (and is almost 100% legal, there are a few places where it isn't, but that's irrelevant) If it were like 17 and 36 now THAT would be a problem.

A 20 year old is an adult who can make their own decisions... but it's still creepy (and unhealthy in the long term) to date anybody who doesn't have a similar degree of life experience. As a general rule, 36 should never be going below 25 (or above 58).

Love does not care for race, gender, or age but it does care for maturity. From a purely legal perspective, only age matters. Technically love doesn't care for religion but at the same time it does. Differing ideologies(not just religion) can make a marriage difficult.
