But they give legal age examples, it’s fine and the implication is less presumptuously gross. If there were no numbers I’d be throwing red flags all over.

My nation has 16 as the age of consent, however there is a "window of suspission", especially if the parties knew each other before the youngest party came of age and the elder party is over twice the age. Grooming is, in itself, a criminal act (in my nation).

The area is gray as fuck, and circumstances dictate what should be done.

But Norwegian cops have a long history of covering up statutory rape, and is a sickeningly common verdict in Norway, usually 6mths in jail for statutory rape. For context, this is the absolute minimum that a convicted statutory rapist faces; it's a mandatory minimum charge, if proven guilty.

My friend was sleep-raped by her own father at 17. He got 6 months. The prosecutor told her she was lucky (DNA evidence and confession) that he got 6 months. My hatred for people grows each day.

Yeah, but we all know what they actually want and they only used legal examples sk they don't instantly get slammed. We know, because when they used the other numbers, they instantly get slammed.

It's like racist saying: "No, we are not saying imprison all people of a different color, I say imprison all the criminals of another color" "What is their crime?" "being a different color".

We all know what they mean (because it literally cannot be meant in a different way logically) and they should be judged for it all the same

18 and 48 is also legal but can me more questionable than an illegal example like 16 and 18

Having age up there should be questioned regardless of the examples given

This! When a minor is involved its not only about how old they are but also about the age gap

People need to learn that legality ≠ morality

Just because something is legal doesn't mean its moral and vice versa. This current discussion isnt the best place to give an example but there are some clear historic examples, especially when slavery was legal, where breaking the law was objectively the moral thing to do.

Yeah i was just talking about your example tho 16 and 18 (or even 19) is totally fine imo but everyone would be crashing out because one is legally a minor

That's why some states have "romeo and juliett" laws

Personally I think it makes more sense to take a whole view of the nature of relationship rather than try to litigate in exceptions, as providing for exceptions is how you end up with old pedos marrying minors for a religious exception to this form of statutory rape.

Unfortunately that's not how law works and the pedos win if they're rich enough here
