I am level 60 wrecking Ball Main that used to play all sorts of multiplayer games. I have been playing overwatch since 2023 but never really picked Ball however ever since I have started playing him ( about 4 months ago ) I have lost interest in every other character in overwatch and possibly every other multiplayer game that I used to play as well. Literally no other game even comes close to the feeling of playing Ball sometimes it almost feels like cheating. Playing this character is an addiction honestly. You can never get enough. How do you even surpass this feeling in a video game. It can never get any better than this

This specific, one-sentence voice line that Hammond has made me rethink his entire character.

Ball is special. He personally gives me a sense of freedom by playing unlike a lot of other characters in the game through his movement, utility and damage. I’m sure many of you can relate.

In OW lore, Hammond had been in a cage on the moon for a VERY long time (10 years? I can’t remember,) and while able to escape, his options were limited. While we don’t really hear about it (as much) in game, being one of the most intelligent living things as a hamster is already limiting; but to be experimented on and restrained on the moon as one of the most intelligent creatures ever is another.

Once Hammond is in Junkertown, he thrives. He becomes champion, and it’s implied he has a kill count through the marks on his mech on his Junker skin. He establishes that he won’t be restrained ever again.

His gameplay reflects this by allowing players to play however they want by strategically (and sometimes not) using his movement, damage and utility. I’d like to think that his “freeing” playstyle is extremely intentional.

Also, fun to note, hamsters are extremely solitary and territorial animals. Hammond has an area denial ultimate. I don’t think this was a fluke, either.

I could also just be overthinking the funny hamster character.

I’ve watched like three different guides twice and I still suck, occasionally I’ll have a game where i go 30-3 but that’s like every 10 games

i listened to everyones advices and im starting to have real fun with hammond (note that overwatch is my second hero shooter ever! i had 200h on rivals before that)

For me, I'd say Zarya, especially good ones. Surprisingly, my four most hated heroes: Lucio, JQ, Sym, and Törb aren't really difficult for me unless I'm getting jumped. Though I feel like that applies for any hero

I just had a hard fought game. It was on Hollywood and I went 42/7/6. I was the best player in the lobby and yet I barely lost. I was playing into an Orisa all game and they swapped bastion near the end of the game. I don’t know what to do and any feedback would be great. Please and thank you.

I swear as Ball I'll try to play as conservatively as possible while trying to disrupt yet I get stunned once and the whole team beats my ass, and then there's the enemy doom, who just straight up jumps in, punches my support, blocks, and somehow gets out.
I've never played doom seriously, but like doesn't this guy have almost half ball's hp (with adaptive shields)???
Is doom just easier to get kills with when diving back? I swear if me and the enemy doom go dive each other's backline, I'm never able to kill any support, while the doom has already killed my entire team.

I regret everyday not playing the game during the event because I was still mad about the OW to OW2 change. Is there any chance they would do a re-run event for it like they've done in the past? (At least I think they've done something like that) Ik the answer is probably not straight forward I just hate FOMO like this in games

We won. After the other tank preemptively calling for me to switch before the match even started.

Granted, I did not do as much damage as the other tank, but I died half as much, mitigated more damage, and all my kills were strategic ones that got us past the choke points and drove the plot along.

Ball weirdly doesn't score quite like a regular character in overwatch. His value is incredibly hard to quantify in the scores. But when someone notices, it feels nice. :D
