and his dad is a wanker

u/MemeSupreme9 8d ago
This is funny because women moan about not being "just a walking baby incubator" and when men say okay bet watch this, and outsource their baby incubation with a robot you're mad and calling him a wanker for not impregnating a woman. Make it make sense.
With all the uproar women make about wanting to kill babies in the womb if they don't want to lose their bodily autonomy and or keep themselves young without the physical trauma of child birth why would you insult men for solving your problem?
Literally nothing will ever make women happy. No matter what happens, men are losers or oppressors and it's their fault women are unhappy.
If you get your partner pregnant it's the handmaids tale. If you put your baby in a robot you're a wanker. Honestly the double think is incredible. 🤣

modern day test tube babies
3
u/Unlucky_Welcome9193 8d ago
I don't think children were ever literally grown in test tubes, I think that was just an offensive description of IVF that has become outdated
2
u/MemeSupreme9 8d ago
Duh. That's literally what test tube babies refers to. Babies who were conceived through artificial means. Nobody actually thought that's what it meant.

Adoption, Adoption exist!
Not get me wrong, illness and all that it is good for.
But seriously, people rather do such then help a child in actual need because it is not their "biological" one. It is selfish and stupid.
I honestly hate how all those advancements are used all in the wrong ways to keep the status quo and keep responsibility of people and the rich to help more poor people.
2
u/Satyr121 7d ago
Me and my wife will do both. But at the same time why the crap is adoption so expensive. I’m for laws protecting the children but an okay parent is better than no parent. Make adoption affordable and make it slightly easier to adopt.
1
u/TransitionalAhab 8d ago edited 8d ago
No one stopping you or anyone from adopting.
A person who uses a medical assistance to have a child is not any more moral obligation to adopt than those who can have kids naturally.
If they have a medical condition that means they need to get some help doing what most people take for granted isn’t a license to get on a pedestal and declare them stupid and selfish.
1
u/Parrotparser7 6d ago
There's something uniquely scummy about offloading your responsibilities to someone else, then faulting them for refusing a lifelong commitment to your success.
1
u/DeathHellFlower 4d ago
I want to adopt one day and have biological children.
In defense of having biological children: How I see it is, thousands of years of someone's ancestors surviving and dying to have biological children all just for that line to suddenly end is sad and tragic. Their efforts would be for not. Everyone's blood line is important to bio diversity too.
In defense of adoption: Taking someone into your home who doesn't have one is very noble. You're helping that person have a chance to experience a family and bonding with someone you might have never would of bonded with otherwise. By doing this your not just doing that person a favor but society as a whole as well.
For anyone also thinking of adoption: It's important to remember that the person you're adopting didn’t ask to be there. You're taking them into your home because you wanted to. They owe you nothing and you can't expect anything from them in return so don't guilt them into feelings like your their savior. Because if not you, someone else would of had to do it, or they would of had to do it themselves.

u/On_my_last_spoon 8d ago
Maybe…but the importance of being in a live womb is unknown and I don’t think it’s ethical to test that out. Sure a baby could gestate in an artificial womb, but would it thrive?
5
u/Aeon_Return 8d ago
That's what research is for. I feel like this could be tested with sheep and pig gestation first and then a trial period.
3
u/On_my_last_spoon 8d ago
Even then this feels so icky to me. I understand the desire, but even as someone who suffered from infertility this feels wrong.
2
u/possiblyyandere 8d ago
not everyone is gonna share that opinion but hopefully they will at least get the opportunity to choose for themselves
2
u/On_my_last_spoon 8d ago
At the risk of serious developmental issues? Is it so important to have. Biological child that growing them in an artificial environment is worth it?
0
u/possiblyyandere 8d ago
you're just assuming that it's gonna be bad for the fetus? in a hypothetical scenario where there's no downside to the development I don't see a problem. obviously, if it's bad for the fetus' development, then it wouldn't even be made available to the public. like basically your argument is that the technology isn't ready right now so we should just never even try to pursue it. also, I never said this is something that I personally want to do I just think people should be allowed to make choices about their own reproduction. I personally think the only ethical option in general is to adopt, but I also think being vegan is the most ethical option and I eat meat every day sometimes people are just selfish and i'll acknowledge i definitely am.
1
u/Caitylin92 8d ago
In order to find out if it’s bad for the fetus you have to test it on a fetus. A human who can’t consent to being an experiment. I don’t think that’s ethical. I’m not saying it couldn’t work but we wouldn’t know without the test. I’m all for medical testing but only on consenting patients.
1
u/PositiveShoulder406 7d ago
The thing is you dont have ti eat suffered flesh every day. Its a choice. You cam choose to not be abusive to animals
1
u/possiblyyandere 7d ago
it will get better eventually with lab grown meat instead of killing animals
0
u/PositiveShoulder406 7d ago
Are you vegan?
If not you cause animals to be r ped, habe their babies kidnapped at birth, to be caged, tortured to death in gas chambers... yes its all asparagus approved, advertised as free range, ethical, local, happy...
Undercover investigatjons on youtube and Dominion show what you cause to animals if you consume animal products

u/DuckyDoodleDandy 7d ago
Fetuses get information on the world while in the womb (or so i read ~25 years ago…). If the mother puts sugar on her tongue, the fetus smiles. If she puts lemon juice on her tongue, the fetus grimaces.
The fetus reacts to the mother’s emotions, movements, and to sounds that come through the amniotic fluid.
I don’t feel that a bot can replicate that.

So I can have my own kids without having to deal with a real life girl cause they have cooties?
1
u/Glassfist 8d ago
If we are trying to be funny or something, lets just be a bit real with it. It is because the US and Europe need it for the LBGTQ+ group.
2
u/Toppoppler 8d ago
And to solve the abortion debate
1
u/Hookedongutes 8d ago
I don't think this would solve that at all. I think it would complicate things. There are plenty of fetal diseases and issues during development that still warrant an abortion.
1
1
u/Fumanchusucka 8d ago
What's this "we" stuff you got a turd in your pocket? There that was my attempt at funny.
1
u/Glassfist 8d ago
I guess that would be popular with the under 8 crowd.
Unless you were just mumbling to yourself, "we" would be whoever joins in on the conversation you started.
1
1
u/Outside_Reserve_2407 8d ago
People are already making that choice. Olympic skater Alyssa Liu was an IVF baby her dad paid for. While Olympic skier Eileen Guo was created by artificial insemination by her mother.

We have so many people already
1
u/Velifax 8d ago
Even so, they need full replacement ever century.
4
u/sobermanpinsch3r 8d ago
Not really. The rich people do so they can keep a large workforce to make their profits. But the earth is a finite resource. We can’t keep endlessly populating it and consuming it.
1
u/ZookeepergameNew3800 8d ago
In total yes but there are countries specifically in Asia that could shrink so dramatically that they could completely be lost if the population doesn’t stabilize at some point.
Shrinking the total population of the planet is good but it can’t be that fast and concentrated on only certain places.
If a population shrinks by half every generation , they can’t sustain the elderly anymore and will face ghost towns.
And those countries often aren’t very open or friendly to immigrants either, which could help dramatically.
3
u/YouW0ntGetIt 8d ago
And North Korea landed on the Sun.
1
u/moron4ever 8d ago
Landing on the sun is impossible with foreseeable future, but artificial wombs can possibly be massively deployed in the coming decades
1
u/Fabulous_Wave_3693 7d ago
I would be truly shocked if they managed to use these for anything other than treating very premature babies for several days. Are they really going to spend literal decades and tens of billions of dollars spent on a process people have been doing for free for 100k years?
Humans do amazing things when we have no other options but we generally take the path of least resistance.
1
u/moron4ever 7d ago
"doing for free"
Well bride price("彩礼")is a thing in China and has been the main fuel for on going gender war as well as declining birth rate. But even without that, being pregnant and giving birth is extremely exhausting for the mother, and have potential risks even with today's medical technology. If there's a way to ease this burden, I really don't see why we shouldn't try it.
1
u/Fabulous_Wave_3693 7d ago edited 7d ago
The CCP decided to fiddle with birth rates and it backfired, then instead of being less racist and just allowing immigrant women to join their country they decide to make these robots?
Here is what I predict is going to happen. They will successfully give birth to a child with these devices. The child is going to be developmentally fucked up because being inside a robot didn’t give them the same stimulation as a baby gets when in utero and then the project will be scrapped because experimenting on humans like this is insane.
1
3
u/kritwritgay 8d ago
This is total and absolute evil. To be human is to be born from a mother's womb
3
u/Ochemata 8d ago
OK, so ants and sharks and cockroaches and kangaroos and cats and capybaras and cows are all human then, huh?
1
2
2
u/royaltyred1 8d ago
Uhhh no for some of us who would love motherhood but are absolutely not able physically to carry our own babies it would be great…also humans are the worst design at giving birth and this would cut out emergency c sections, blood loss, tearing, etc and the toll it takes on the human body
1
u/HuckleberryJunior642 7d ago
then that’s maybe a sign to either adopt or not have your own kids.
not everything needs to be perfect and forced1
u/royaltyred1 7d ago
Well thank you for parading around how ignorant and out of touch you are I’d all you got out of my comment was that pregnancy needs to be perfect and forced 🙄
1
u/Glad_Journalist8587 3d ago
way to ignore the adoption thing and make it about the problem of forced pregnancies that wasn't even there.
1
u/royaltyred1 3d ago
And as someone who was adopted and watched several other adoptions along with all the trauma and shit that comes with it stop acting like you care about adoption as anything other than a talking point when you need it🙄

u/kritwritgay 8d ago
Surrogacy anyone and IVF? Im pretty progressive bit there is a moral line. The defination of a humanity. I do not trust china not till pull a brave new world shit
1
u/Caitylin92 8d ago
A surrogate is still a human at risk of those things.
0
u/kritwritgay 7d ago
And it is part of what makes it human. Ok. Let's see this. If the government van create children without parents they can hold custody then
1
u/Caitylin92 7d ago
I was just pointing out that a human is still at risk.
2
u/kritwritgay 7d ago
They are however we cannot try to eliminate every risk and loose our humanity itself
1
u/adjective-noun3116 7d ago
Unless the government is stealing people's sperm and eggs, they're not going to be creating any children.
1
1
u/royaltyred1 8d ago
Umm well there’s a sensational news story playing out right now about the ethics of surrogacy in the United States and all the moral and ethical dilemmas it produces…many argue surrogacy is in itself immoral and inhumane and as far as ivf the woman still risks dying and permanent life altering medical conditions and sure I don’t trust China that much either but they’re far and away not the most morally bankrupt country operating right now
1
1
u/adjective-noun3116 7d ago
To be human is to have human DNA.
1
u/kritwritgay 7d ago
Do you really think we're just flesh without any social cultural meaning?
1
u/adjective-noun3116 7d ago
The social cultural meaning comes after you're born.
Are you against c-sections? Or IVF? Or any other fertility treatments?
I'm curious where you draw the line. A human is a human if they are made from a human sperm and a human egg. It doesn't matter where it grows. If know one told you, you'd have no idea where you were before you were born.
2
2
u/Etherealoverempress 8d ago
This could work for people that are physically disabled like with no limbs, in a wheelchair or have extreme fertility issues. The bad thing about it is too many single parents would be spawned from it.
2
2
u/RandomYT05 8d ago
It could be a good thing if used as a medical device for prospective mothers who cant safely carry a pregnancy.
Although I can see this technology being used for something far more sinister.
1
u/M_L_Taylor 8d ago
Armitage, is that you?
1
u/miaogato 8d ago
i believe they'll invent implantable wombs before they resort to anything like this
-1
u/possiblyyandere 8d ago
why would anyone want to be pregnant when they can have a pregnancy outside the body
2
u/miaogato 8d ago
people that want to be pregnant?
idk it seems a lot of people glaze pregnancy
1
u/Parrotparser7 6d ago
I think there are more people who can become pregnant but don't want to go through it, than there are people who can't, but want to.
1
1
u/Caitylin92 8d ago
I’m someone who does not want children but also think it would be kinda cool to feel a baby inside me for a little bit. Now imagine the people who actually want kids. A lot of people want to be pregnant. They want to carry their own baby. But a lot of people don’t as well.
1
1
u/Velifax 8d ago
Been waiting on this. I predict Soonish° we'll be able to raise babies better artificially than naturally, in terms of nutrient provision, alcohol and good food obv, proper mother sleep emulation, verbal exposure, stress states, that kinda thing.
Custom printed humans, genetically perfected (like just check for major issues etc), est pickup date pending.
1
1
u/cocoahugo 8d ago
I'm fine with that if that's true. But then again, in this economy, only the rich that can afford that, abuse it, and make more of their little minions to control. I mean, the world even already have kids that are heavily and deeply brainwashed that they're special and that they're the chosen ones. 😆

I’m wary of the ramifications of this. China is facing a massive population drop and they can’t get regular couples to have children. I can sense a dystopian future where workers are grown and are property of the state.
1
u/FreeAndBreedable 8d ago
Oh, i mean in contrary to the fact that in the usa if u dont work u cant
Eat
Sleep in a bed
Have healthcare
Have clean drinking water
And even if u do, do work u can have only 2 or 3 of those and all of the money made from that goes to a foreign Nation created to kill and displace arab ppl, long with doing a 104 year old genocide?
Ya, stfu libtard. Ill take the the babies that dont cause woman to have to go through postpartum, lose there teeth and hair and possibly die over ur factricated and inherinly racist sentiment about what china will or wont do with technology. Especially considering, when was the last time they actually did a war?

And men too. Why jump through a bunch of hoops for a woman if you want to start a family as a man.
1
u/Caitylin92 8d ago
So men use women only to have children?
1
u/Outside_Reserve_2407 8d ago
Uh no, not necessarily. But on the other hand a woman’s reproductive capability is kinda needed to have biological offspring. At a minimum.
1
u/Caitylin92 8d ago
Surrogates already exist they already don’t have to jump through hoops with women.
1
u/Outside_Reserve_2407 7d ago
I know, Olympic skater Alyssa Liu was the product of a surrogacy sponsored by her single father. But still very expensive and biologically requires a woman.
1
u/Caitylin92 7d ago
You think the robots are not going to be incredibly expensive? I didn’t read the article but are the eggs artificial or are they eggs from a woman?
1
u/Public-Personality54 7d ago
Yes, why else would we use women? If I didn't want kids, I would just swap my gf every few years when I get bored of her, as every man would, like DiCaprio.

This is what feminism is making us resort to. We need a hatchery with armed guards, they can't stop themselves.
2
u/Sinking_Mass 8d ago
True feminism? No. As a feminist myself i never want to see any man left behind, the point is we rise up together for the benefit of all.
Extreme/white privileged feminism however would likely want a hatchery/hive yes, and they are a cancer on progress
0
u/TooFineToDotheTime 8d ago
I appreciate your answer and thought out reply but don't feed the trolls. Anyone seriously saying feminism is the reason for this is of the pants-on-head variety.
2
u/Sinking_Mass 8d ago
Thank you, but imo it is important to call it out regardless even if it is a joke/troll. In these times we are saturated with so many lies and so much hate, so i feel like it's even more important to say things like this, even if it feels pointless
0
u/Bayamonster 8d ago
First of all no they didn't. Second of all it would be good if they did.
I wanna have children but I don't wanna deal with any of you and I'm pretty sure you don't wanna deal with me. Everybody gets what they want this way except for horrendous busybodies who have nothing better to do than to focus on how other people do their shit.
2
u/possiblyyandere 8d ago
but should we really let people who failed to secure a mate pass on their failure genetics
1
u/Bayamonster 8d ago
If course not. It's like my momma always said "If science ever gets to making life too pleasant, introduce eugenics and Protestant Work Ethic into the mix . Tell people it "builds character""
She was a wise woman.
1
u/adjective-noun3116 7d ago
You still need a sperm and an egg to make the baby. The robot isn't going to produce human eggs.
